Do you guys take photos the your item on a scale? I’ve had this happen probably 7-10 times with FedEx in the last year. I don’t use FedEx much mainly USPS but on larger packages I use FedEx because they’re a fraction of the cost of USPS. Never once has the USPS don’t this and I check my scale pretty often for calibration. Is there any way to avoid this massive company from repeatedly robbing me? If I was off my a pound or something I’d accept it but 11 pounds no shot. I’ve also sold around 2k items this year so I’m not a rookie.

I haven’t sold in eBay in over 15 years and I have some old comic books that I want to list.

I now see that their fees are 14% and that is ludicrous.

Does anyone know of any good alternatives?

Buyer bought some sealed collectables last night for $1000. They messaged me asking me to cancel today, said they had some unexpected expenses.

I feel like its just buyers remorse...they probably over paid by $100-200

To be honest I dont really want to cancel, I dont want to get into all of it but having some health issues trying to sell all my collectables atleast leave my significant other with something, least I can do for all the years of love she game me and idk $1000 is a nice chuck of change I know im being proably being the AITA in this situation should just be a good human and cancel but im struggling and idk feel like being selfish this one time

How does this play out? What are my options? Dont sell on ebay much literally 2nd or 3rd sale iirc

Side rant: once or twice texting quickly guy accidentally types "cancle" phone takes it to heart and learns it like written law, you dont realize, you live life...text bosses...lovers...friends...all while phone is auto correcting it until one day you make a post on ebay sub and realize the error of your ways and that everyone in your life probably thinks you dont know how to spell cancel and you feel like a fool

Got the most egregious lowball offer I've ever received since I started eBay and I just couldn't help but laugh at the absurdity.

Someone who has lowballed me on offers in the past using the offer system sent me this message offering $100 shipped for almost 50 brand new and sealed DVDs (list contained multiple repeats) that I have listed price at a total of around $320 after a 15% discount.

The guy specifically mentioned the list was items priced at $3-4 a piece but tried sneaking in several items I had priced at $15-30 each thinking I wouldn't check or bother doing the math.

The lowball was already ridiculous, but wanting free shipping on a nearly 50 item order is just such a slap in the face that it feels like ragebait. Immediately got put into the block list.

Anyone else have stories of lowballs this bad?

Morally, I want to send it back. But the seller told me that the shipping label should be in my email automatically (I never got it). I reached out about 3x to them, got tired and decided to open a case with ebay.

Seller never uploaded/sent label, so I got the item for free. Can I get in any legal trouble?
Bought it from a fairly big company, still have the $1,000 item in my possession.

I tried numerous times to cancel the order before it even got shipped, then contacted them to get the return shipping label, I only get vague responses. Ebay was on my side, told me it’s sellers responsibility to provide return label.
That said I got my refund. If I keep it, can I get in trouble?

So I have a keychron keyboard in my watchlist, it ends tomorrow. Ebay just pinged me "ending soon - keychron keyboard from <seller>".

I was waiting for this message to remind me to get in there and win this thing. Which I did.

Only its NOT the keyboard I wanted and had on my watchlist, it was a different one that the same seller (a UK charity) is selling. I only just realised when I saw my watch list item is still there, ending tomorrow - and oh, the one I've won isn't the same model, or a model that I would have considered buying, its completely useless for why I needed this one.

Sure, I should have checked, but hey I was busy watching the football match and putting the kids to bed - my mistake, but damn if that's not shady AF from Ebay.

Update: Thankfully the seller has agreed to cancel. Now I can try to win the one I wanted tomorrow evening.

Got an item that was broken in transit and also was not as described anyway. Very large item, huge cardboard box.

It’s been two weeks now. I’d like to throw out the massive cardboard box it was shipped in with my recycling service tomorrow. Tired of looking at it.

So i bought an used kevlar helmet from seller ship from USA to Czechia, 5 days ago i got a notification that the package arrived to me but i haven't received it, tracking shows it was in sorting center. Today they cancelled my order and issued me a refund. Is this an error from sender or the item is simply can't be send overseas, have anyone had this issue before and is there another way for the item to ship to me ?

eBay sent me an email saying the return is now closed but I need to respond to the dispute. The item was fully functional when I sold it and was very clear in the pictures of its function, I think have another issue with the vehicle. What's the best way to respond to the dispute ?

Also when I originally accepted the return, it asked me to upload a label for the buyer, does eBay no longer generate return labels paid for by sellers ?

I've been looking for a really specific style of vintage pendant on Ebay for ages. I'm really particular so it took me a while to find one, but when I did it was the DREAM pendant.

Bought it immediately, the seller sent it, it arrived within 2 days, perfect! Except I open my parcel and it isn't the pendant I ordered - it's a similar one that was still actively listed on their shop.

Easy mistake to make. I politely reached out to them and they were very apologetic, told me to return the parcel for a refund and they would send out my original order free of charge. I even thanked them for their offer but asked them to re-list the pendant and I would repurchase it then and there, but they reassured me that it wasn't necessary and they would post it out to me.

Long story short, they never posted it. They re-listed it a few weeks later. For the same price no less! Why give me false promises and turn down a guaranteed instant sale 🫠

I ship a lot of orders over the value threshold where eBay requires signature. In the last week the FedEx signature selection box has changed showing direct signature is $0.00 and it's automatically selected. I shipped one order like that but the printed label didn't say "DSR" like it did in the past. I'm confused, are they including signature for free now? For reference I never use added shipping insurance.

Long story short I sell golf club shafts.

Every one weighs around 60-85 grams.

I ship every one in a standard uline 4x4x48” box.

They typically weigh around 1.3-1.5 pounds or so at maximum when packed including protective
materials.

I always select 2 lbs 1 oz when creating a label, and size at exactly the 4x4x48 I’ve measured the outside dimensions at.

The pictures are pretty obvious here… someone help me out. What direction should I go?

First scale pic is without packing materials second is filled to the brim with packing cardboard.. which I never use that much of.

I just got a bad review - $4 card. He’s upset that he.. bought the card with letter shipping (ebay standard envelope) and it took too long, even though he stated it was within the estimated time frame (i checked and it was delivered days before the time frame) He was also upset about the envelope (it was in a penny sleeve, top loader and sealed team bag) even though he said the card was *somehow!*undamaged! (that’s the point!). He even said it’s like he received a 5th grade pen pal letter since it’s a plain envelope.

I would have thought he knew the rules and that i can’t use a cardboard or bubble mailer for $1 shipping, as he also sells sports cards!

No, he didn’t reach out to explain the concerns- i would have refunded him shipping costs or something to keep the customer happy.

Are we not doing paper plain white envelopes for low value cards? No one, i mean no one is going to pay 5+ dollar shipping for a bubble mailer on a cheap card.

What could I have done better here? He also complained how it didn’t provide step by step tracking, and that is out of my control?

I hastily made a bid and won an auction for a card based on the title rather than inspecting the picture (I know that’s dumb but the auction had less than 1 minute until closing.) The card listed in the title (which I thought I was buying) is worth about $45 currently. The one pictured is worth about $15 and I won the auction for about $20 including tax and shipping. Do I just suck it up and take the loss?

I want to buy something on ebay that I need, but the seller is currently on vacation. It says that once I purchased it there's going to be a delay because of this, but then I got curious. Has anyone here ever purchased an item off of ebay when the seller was on holiday, and what was that experience like? Did you receive the thing you ordered? Were there delays? Did you ever spoke with the seller? I just want to know what I'm getting into so I don't make a mistake that would cost me.

This is at least the 3rd time this has happened to me, but the first time where they’ve already paid for the item. Do i cancel and select buyer requested? Do i have to initiate a refund? So frustrating because i had other bidders so now i just have to list again and wait another 7 days for the auction to run. It’s always the “my kid placed this bid” excuse too.

Selling a vintage item, not super expensive, less than a couple hundred bucks, but collectable none the less. I get an offer for less than 40% of asking price, politely decline, and counter with my best price, they come back $5 more than the initial offer.

This may be UK specific but I just went to post a package and used my app to create a QR CODE so they could scan and print me a label, but instead it made a printable label and I could not turn it back.

I had to go home and print the label and go back to the post office. Luckily I live close. I presumed it was my error but looking online it seems this is a problem with eBay. So check your app can produce a QR code before leaving home!

I sold a computer on eBay, and the buyer claimed it wouldn't boot up when they got it. I suspected user error, so I made them return it instead of just issuing a refund.

The item arrived, and of course it powers on fine, but it now has a huge dent in it due to the buyer improperly packaging it for return.

Do I have any recourse, or am I just out the cost of the item and return shipping at this point?

I bought an item on Ebay from a reputed seller on 27th September. The package was shipped next day by the seller and I received a tracking number by FedEx. I waited till 5th October and got an update from FedEx saying "Packaged delayed due to Weather". I waited another week but nothing changed on my tracking number and I was seeing the same message of weather delay so I contacted FedEx myself. They looked into the matter and told me that it's highly unlikely for them to find my package as they probably lost it and asked me to contact the seller.

Now, I kept the seller in the loop the whole time and even shared the screenshot of my support ticket with FedEx. Seller is asking me to wait for my refund as they haven't received the outcome of their claim yet. I already filed an INR with Ebay.

My question is, am I supposed to wait for Seller and FedEx to sort everything out before I get my refund? Or am I owed the refund immediately since my order never arrived? This is my first time ordering something from Ebay so I'm not sure what the right procedure is. My thought was that since the package never even entered my state of residence, I shouldn't have to wait for the seller and FedEx to sort things out before I get my refund. But feel free to correct me if I'm wrong. The main point here I guess is that FedEx themselves told me that they can't locate my package and most likely lost it.

USPS geo-based pricing updates effective October 18, 2026

USPS is updating how it prices some domestic shipments. Today, these shipments use two rate groups: standard and rural. Under the new geography-based pricing structure, USPS will use three rate groups for Ground Advantage shipments, based on the package’s destination ZIP code, in addition to standard rates. While this is not an overall rate increase, shipping prices may vary more depending on the destination, with rates increasing or decreasing for some ZIP codes. View the USPS geo-based ZIP code list.

USPS may adjust these rates periodically. If you use calculated shipping on eBay, the shipping costs will be automatically calculated so buyers will see an accurate shipping rate based on their location. Shipping with eBay Labels remains simple, and we’ll continue to pass along the best available discounts to our sellers. Most buyers will not see a rate increase as a result of this change. 

What to know for October 18:

• USPS Ground Advantage: Pricing will reflect the updated geo-based rate cards. 
• USPS Priority Mail: There are no pricing updates at this time.

Instead of standard and rural rates, there will now be standard plus 3 geo-based tiers for Ground Advantage packages for a total of 4 potential rate tiers for each zone.

Priority is unchanged with 2 rate tiers: standard and rural.

I don’t really understand what the “inactive” ones are, like are they live or not? They don’t show as inactive on the tab. Can anyone explain it to me like I’m five lmao.

I think they’re relisted- but it’s just kinda confusing.

I got the dispute from buyer and I issued refund and buyer got the refund back. However eBay keeps telling me I have to ship the item and put restriction on my account. I tried calling the eBay and the call didn’t work. What am I suppose to do?
