Checking in on your “guys” that have an opportunity to sneak up the rankings into a truly consistent startable or become a confident bye week placement - and on the flip side, whose hype are you not buying into and you believe will be a roster clogger moving forward? Talking about guys in the WR4+ range.

My guys are:
Tre Harris - is very slowly but steadily coming along and QJ sucks. I think a door opens up for him sooner than later.

Pat Bryant - has shown signs of his skillset and before he got hurt he looked like he was on the cusp of breaking into the next tier of guys

Stribling - I just thought he looked real solid in preseason and that roster is old

Pearsall - hes basically a rookie - I think he and Stribs take over as 1/2 in SF and both become quality flex to WR3s that you’ll feel good about playing each week

Tre Tucker - I just think he’s a pesky guy who just keeps showing up whether you like it or not. I doubt they add more than one other guy for next year and Mendoza can open it up when he takes over. A lot of attention will be on Bowers so I just feel like he’s an annoying guy who will boom bust as a poor man’s JaMo

Who are yalls speculative buys?

Some of this analysis will use my sites DMX and DPX metrics. DMX is a pre-rookie draft metric while DPX is a season production metric. DMX combines draft capital, combine and college stats into one measure of dynasty value while DPX combines volume, efficiency and scoring into one production metric.

Let’s get to Mitchell. He’s very undervalued today. On FantasyPros dynasty rankings he’s WR63 in the WR rankings, just above Tre Harris at 64 and Rasheed Shaheed at 65. He’s player 163 in the total rankings. For context, Tyrone Tracy is 164 and Gunner Helm is 165. He’s nowhere near starter quality, but I think that will change. Let me explain further.

Mitchell came out in 2024 and he was the 6th best WR in terms of my DMX rankings that year at a DMX score of 1.42 (Decile 1, which means his DMX ranks in the top 10% of scores all time for WRs). In other words, he was a great prospect coming out of college. He ranked above Ricky Pearsall, Brian Thomas Jr., Keon Coleman and Ladd McConkey. All of which now rank above him in FantasyPro’s dynasty rankings. Omar Cooper ranks above him too, even though Mitchell beat him to the WR2 job in training camp.

In the three years he’s been in the league his DPX (production) score has improved each year. From -0.92 (not an unusual score for a rookie) in 2024 to -0.24 in 2025 and this year even though he’s injured he’s broken positive in DPX at 0.16. Same as Josh Downs (0.16) and just above Jaylen Waddle (0.15), even though Downs is ranked 39 and Waddle 20 in FantasyPros dynasty rankings.

To summarize, Adonai Mitchell was a great prospect and has continually improved his production in the NFL over his 3 years in the league. He’s ranked much lower in dynasty rankings as his peers he came out with and other players producing at a similar levels. He’s injured right now, which is likely depressing his score too. But IMO that’s a great reason to make a trade for him now. While is QB isn’t great, and the NYJ offense scares nobody, he’s solidly the WR2 there and he’s only 24. Buy young talent low, and let the cream rise to the top.

Not sure how to go about making trades in a league where some players don’t seem to understand dynasty value. I’ve been trying to trade for aging players in exchange for draft capital as a contender but will get counter offers that seem more like redraft trades. People who are 1-4 or 0-5 won’t make trades unless they get players back that strengthen their teams this year. Anyone have experience navigating a league where people don’t understand what’s valuable to contenders vs rebuilders?

There was a lot of hype around Cyrus Allen during preseason but I haven’t hear much about him as of late. Andy Reid is really slow with giving rookies a larger role but with all the injuries to the wr core in KC, how much faab are we placing on him for those leagues where he is still on the waivers?

Subtext - is this draft as strong as claimed when we look at just the skill positions?

Is Smith worth going all-in for?

Jeremiah Smith is getting picked 1 overall in your fantasy draft.

But how far apart is everyone else?

Let's simplify and say non-Superflex, as QBs cause all range of views.

Coming into the year, Coleman was considered a near certain 2nd.

Now he might be behind Becker - and depending on landing spot he could end up behind his own college teammate Wingo. Marsh, Duff and Green all considerations.

But does anyone see these guys standing out in the way that Chase looked dominant? Or Julio, Moss back in their day?

Baugh is rising. Hardy and Lacy will likely round out your top 8 or so.

But again I don't see a Bijan, a Peterson, a can't-miss thing.

I picked up 2027 picks last year with a view to semi rebuild. Currently projects I'll have picks 2, 8, 10 and 2.2 (14).

But I am now wondering, is this draft really as strong as claimed? Was it all QB hype pushing that narrative?

Smith is being super hyped but after Marv Harrison Jr it's fair to be wary.

I'm considering whether I trade picks 2 and 8 just to move up to 1 and take Smith - is he that special?

If the draft is not as strong as hyped, does that mean it makes sense to move up and get the best possible, or does it make more sense to pick as many top 10 players as possible to increase your chances of a hit?

Pretty much the title. Would like to know if there were any reports to the severity of the damage in his knee. Was it only the ACL? Was it a clean tear? Anything else that could impact (positive or negative) his recovery timeline?

On top of that, do we expect him back to full health by week 6ish next year?

Had him since the giants drafted him and was pleasantly surprised by his production that year behind a god-awful
giants OL. But he’s just been trending down and down and this season it’s been even worse with the fumbles and missed blocks. He’s about to be 27 and I don’t think he’ll be on the giants after this season but is he worth rostering simply out of hope he ends up somewhere new and can scrape out a role on another offense?

Roughly a week ago in my dynasty league, a horrific trade transpired: the best team in our league (by quite a margin) acquired AJ Brown in exchange for…a 2028 3rd, Germie Bernard, and Jaylen Wright. By all accounts, this is a bad trade regardless of any context, made even more dumbfounding by the fact that the person who traded away Brown acquired him over the offseason for considerably more value (Michael Wilson and picks).

This owner also traded Michael Wilson to the same person over the offseason for Deshaun Watson, a 3rd, a 4th, and a 6th, to add some background.

In a vacuum, this might just be interpreted as a bad trade - except for the fact that a couple weeks prior to the trade, I offered substantially more for AJ Brown - two 2028 2nds and Xavier Worthy. He declined the trade initially, which is fair of him to do, but then countered by saying he’d offload Brown to me in exchange for his own 2027 1st (currently projected to be around the 6-8 range) and Javonte Williams in return. Obviously, this is way over what any reasonable manager would pay, and I swiftly ended conversations with him following that suggestion.

It’s just very suspicious to me that this manager would willingly trade Brown for substantially fewer meaningful assets to a team that’s already swimming in an embarassment of riches. However, there haven’t been any other trades between those two teams, and I’ve engaged in relatively normal negotiations independently with both teams too. Could this legitimately just be the manager forgetting I made him a way better offer and shipping off Brown to the first bidder that he remembered, or is there a chance more nefarious behaviour is at work?

The manager who acquired Brown has also rage-quit the league before (prior to being convinced to return), while the sending team took over an orphan that was in pretty good shape per orphan standards.

Punters have pretty straight up stats, hang time, punt net yards, yards per punt, to where it has to be pretty easy to equate for fantasy. And on the contrary, you don’t want Punters to be any more important than any position player, so you’d have to equate it similar to QB’s passing yards. Something to where the “greatest punting performance game of all time” would only have about 20 fantasy points. The average punter in a 10/12 man should produce close enough to the mean if we’re lowering points to the part that it should only vary .5-4 points on the high end any given week. I was thinking something of net yards per punt, hang time, etc. to where there still could be some skill in acquiring punters. Players like Tory Taylor in the 4th round a couple years likely would’ve had actual draft capital behind him compared to the average late 5th-7th punters. Anybody have punters and with what settings do you use to account scoring?

Something I've thought a lot about recently is Derrick Henry retiring. It may not be this year, it may not be next year, but it'll happen eventually. He's been such a demon in fantasy, and when that fateful day comes I think dropping him to waivers would feel...disrespectful?

What if there was another IR/Taxi section where you could put fully retired players? Something that doesn't take up a roster spot and allows you to symbolically hang a retired player's jersey in the raftors. Here are the general rules I have around the eligibility:

• The player would have to be verifiably retired, and situations where a player may not be on a roster but hasn't said they're done wouldn't be eligible
• If the player ever comes out of retirement, they also would no longer be eligble.
• If the player was not on your roster for their last game, you cannot add them to your retirement section

The day your favorite Dynasty FF player retires will be sad. You lose part of your team without gaining anything. A proper retirement section could make the process symbolic, less painful, fun, and seems like a harmless addition.

He was on waivers in 2/3 of my leagues so this may not apply to you but with the eagle's rb room hurt (Barkley, Tank, Shipley hurt) that leaves Dameon Pierce as their only active back in their room.

Saquan may return this week but there's a chance he won't and with that chance comes the opportunity that the Eagles elevate Blue from the practice squad.

This isn't a "Blue is a league winner" post but a "here's a player who's probably free and has a chance to do something" post

My long running dynasty league had started to become kinda stale in the last couple seasons. A couple long time managers left and were replaced, and overall the league chat and trade activity had sorta grinded to a halt this past off season where there was basically no activity around the rookie draft.

Since I have a really good team there I wasn't willing to just leave the league, so instead I joined 2 more new startups this past July/August from the find a league sub. Was hoping a new league with redditors would translate to lot's of activity and engagement. The startup drafts were fun; slow drafts with a good amount of trading and back and forth in the league chat.

But since the season has began, these leagues are absolutely dead too. Nobody says anything in the chat, hardly anyone responds to trade offers, even contending teams have started inactive players or players on BYE. The are both $50 buy ins, so not nothing, but not a ton of investment either.

So what is the key to finding a really active dynasty league? Do I need to be looking for higher stakes leagues, $250+ buy in to get into a league that actually communicates and discusses trades? It's pretty boring when a 0-5 team with Henry and Adams just let's them fester on the roster and won't even give you a "no" when you ask if they are asking to trade them. Is the reality that most people just don't care enough about dynasty to be fully engaged, like most of us here are?

Go get him if he's available. Here's why I think he's worth a roster spot. My league is 29 + 1 IR x 10 deep, but he's worth a stash even in shallower formats.

- He's old for a rookie at 23, but he is already quickly rising in the locker room, it won't be long before he takes over as the full time compliment to Parker. It will happen by end of season.

- I didn't think BTJ would be traded before, and I even thought he would have a bounce back season. It seems like that's not going to happen and after the Harrison trade, and with the rise of Cameron, I think BTJ may actually get dealt somewhere. (Chiefs is current rumor)

- Coaches have him returning kicks, and he's taking them to the house. At 6'1" 225, this is pretty rare.

- He's gaining a lot of trust from TLaw. He's getting targeted more, making catches and big plays when it counts.

Somehow he still seems like the best kept secret in Dynasty leagues. There's a lot of competition for reps and targets right now, but now is the time to go get him. If BTJ gets dealt, Cameron is the reason why.

Parker Washington does not look (or sound) like your prototypical alpha WR. Yet he continous to put up stat lines like 6/124/2, leaving bodies in his wake while his opponents (and fantasy gamers) continue to underestimate him.

Josh Allen is playing hero ball. He's on pace for 800+ rushing yards and 28 rushing TDs. (The current rushing TD leader is LT with 27.) He's rushing out of necessity though; his pass catchers continue to let him down in one way or another. As Master Chief famously said, "I need a weapon."
