League Discussion Should a fantasy football matchup be overturned because of a stat correction after the winning team benched all their Monday players?
Looking for some outside opinions on a situation in our fantasy football league.
After Sunday Night Football, Team A was winning by 0.2 points. With only Monday Night Football remaining, Team A decided to start no one to protect the lead.
A couple of days later (just noticed today) an official stat correction gave Team B’s defense an additional point for a forced fumble during Sunday’s games. This flipped the matchup, and Team B won by 0.8 points.
Now, someone in the league is arguing that the result should be overturned.
What would you do as commissioner?
Let the result stand, since official stat corrections are part of fantasy football and the final score determines the winner.
Overturn the result because Team A had already made a deliberate decision to bench their players and believed they had won.
Something else?
For context, the stat correction came from Sunday’s games, not Monday’s game. Team A’s decision to bench everyone was made before the correction was announced.
Should the matchup be decided by the official final scores, or is there any justification for overturning it? Interested in hearing how other leagues would handle this, especially commissioners.
Edit: thanks lads. Didn’t mean to rage bait just wanted to post something unbiased to get some thoughts to share with league members. Commish is not overturning (turns out he never planned on it anyway)
