Humor Basically the modern DKC games
I still wish retro would return to DKC. No clue how they would top tropical freeze but I’d still play a “more of the same” game like dkc 3 is to dkc 2.

Hello! I've been playing through the recently released Donkey Kong Land Remake and I've really enjoyed it, especially since I've never played the original Donkey Kong Land before. I've completed all of the levels, bosses, and bonus areas now and have 101% completion, but I'm still missing one DK Coin in the World 3 level Landslide Leap (pictured above), as well as several of the Golden Animal Buddy/Rare Logo Tokens.
I've tried scouring YouTube for playthrough videos in hopes of finding ones that have completed the game fully, but for pretty much every one I've seen the player in question hasn't collected all the coins or tokens. And with this being a fairly niche fangame rather than an official one, I'm kind of at a loss as how to find the stuff I don't have yet without asking here on Reddit.
So to recap, if anyone passing by sees this post and can answer, I'm asking the following:
- Where is the DK Coin in Landslide Leap?
- Where are all of the Golden Tokens across the game?
Any input at all would be extremely helpful. Thanks!

For me, I would like to see them introduce a threatening new main villain that wants to eat all of the Kongs perhaps a massive Tiger or Lion which have been enemies of primates for generations. I also hope that it’s a game where they bring back the use of partners like they did with Donkey Kong Country returns. But in this game, you get to choose from a variety of characters although certain characters are required to use to beat specific parts of the game.

If you look closely, you'll even notice that a certain kroc is also on display...

What was the hardest LEVEL in the game for you, and did you reach the Lost World?

Been working on a Donkey Kong hack for a while, finally showing it off (DK CIFRA)
So I've been messing with Donkey Kong for way longer than I'd like to admit and it turned into something kind of big. It's called DK CIFRA and it runs in RetroArch with the FBNeo core.
Basically it's still Donkey Kong, but I added a bunch of new stuff:
- 8 boards now. The classic four, plus 4 new ones I made (Wire Walk, Crumble Keep, Lockdown, and Kong Blast, where you spray Kong into a fire)
- 4 difficulty levels
- you pick up coins and spend them in a little item shop (double jump, speed shoes, hammer, bubble, etc.)
- bonus rounds between levels
- a "Dark Jumpman" that chases you on Rivets, which is kinda evil
- achievements, with a page you can open from the title screen
- 10 letter names on the high score table, and it actually saves
- New music. Some Original, some ported over.
Couple things are different from the video I posted:
- the "100 random levels" thing is gone. There's still random layouts but it's a smaller number now, I had to cut some to make room for the achievements
- achievements took over the spot where Records used to be on the main screen. The records are still in the game, but now you only get to them from the push start screen
Mostly just proud of it, so thanks for looking! If you've got any feedback, I'd really like to hear it.

That is all I have to say,I already beat the game once and I'm going through it again on hard mode. I'm currently on world 3 at the boss fight, which has been pretty tough for me honestly (I've been consistently dying on the last phase). Even though this game can be a bit frustrating sometimes,I truly believe this game (and especially 3-1) is the pinnacle of 2D platforming games. My only complaints (both a bit minor) are the bonus rooms being a bit bland and how little levels there are,but with hard mode it's basically double so I don't mind it too much.

The DK brand is the middle of a rebirth. And based on the easy difficulty of Bananza, it seems that Nintendo is wanting DK to be more accessible to a wider audience. But I wonder if that only applies to 3D DK games or if it will also apply to the next DKC game.
When Retro Studios took over the DKC series, I liked that they made sure the new games were challenging just like the og series. Retro was faithful to the roots of the series. I hope the next DKC entry also remains faithful to the roots in terms of difficulty.

Seriously, how did they have Country 2's innovative bonus rooms RIGHT THERE for reference and settle on generic banana collection minigames for every single bonus room? I'm on World 3 and I've already seen every room type. It's dull and I never look forward to them, unlike in Country 2. They took a core aspect of the game and made it a generic collectathon and I'll never forgive Retro for this garbage concept.

We all know the Donkey Kong Arcade game, and if your old enough, you may have played the game boy version, and put it down after level four, but this shows you what you might have missed or rather dismissed.
And if you have means to play the game. What did you think of it.

Couldn't upload The .webm here but if anyone knows where I can upload it or redirect people to a reliable converter that'd help a ton converter because the one I used lowered the video quality a ton. (-_- ;)

Void Kong is the first and only new world monkey in the Donkey Kong franchise.
If you don't know what a new world monkey is: there are three groups of simians. Hominids (apes), cercopithecids (old world monkeys), and platyrrhines (new world monkeys). Old world monkeys have a heavier core, are more terrestrial, and are more related to apes than new world monkeys. New world monkeys tend to be smaller and strictly arboreal.
"Old world" refers to Eurasia and Africa, while "new world" refers to Central and South America.
Another fun fact: we have no idea how monkeys got there.
The Donkey Kong series has so far featured every great ape (including us), as well as most monkeys in the series resembling some sort of vague, composite macaque (bigger bodies, brown fur, kinda ape looking, and terrestrial walking)
Void Kong is loosely based on a marmoset monkey, of South America. I find this to be mildly interesting, considering he's the only one. Are we to believe that all new world monkeys are evil, in the Donkey Kong universe? Or is it just him?
Irrelevant side note: old world monkeys being more closely related to apes than they are new world monkeys, renders the distinction of "monkey" useless, which is why I believe calling apes monkeys is completely fine. If you're the type of person who says "erm actually that's an ape ☝️🤓" then stop. You're not as smart as you think you are.
