Hi everyone. A few reminders.
I’m not affiliated with DG in any way. Unless you consider “affiliated” to be someone who occasionally buys snacks and cheese at DG.
Don’t be a dick. Self-explanatory.
If I ban you, don’t message me. You’re wasting your time. I’ll either block you or respond sarcastically THEN block you.
Y’all are good folks…except for the select few losers who insist on not paying attention to item 2 up there ☝️.
Carry on. Remember…don’t be a dick. 👍

Dear dg employees- it may be a small thing, but can we please spread the word about touching the top of drink cans?
Several times in the last while, I have bought a drink can at Dollar General and have the person working the register grab the top of the drink can where I will be drinking with their hand. I don’t want to drink your hand. I bought a can today and the person stopped picking at their face just long enough to grab the top of my can and check it out. Please, for fucks sake, stop wiping your face puss on the thing that I just bought to put to my mouth.

I was running the till and when doing a pick up I accidentally pressed starting bank and added 240 to my starting bank so it says it's 390 and now my numbers are all messed up on the till

Money Discrepancy?
So I am a key for my store and have been forced quite a while. Well I just went to make a till for an employee who is coming soon and there was a bank box in the bottome safe containing exactly $88 in 5s 1s and some coin rolls. I called my manager and he assured me it must be for the change fund but the change fund isn’t off at all and neither are any of the drawers. So now we are thinking that maybe a different employee forgot to incorporate the change sometime last week and panicked thinking they made the change fund short or something and made up for it without telling anyone. We have asked everyone and no one has reported any issues with the change fund or any other shortages. Anyone else ever run into this? What are supposed to do with this overage?

Week before inventory
Do we still do all our scans like normal?

Likelyhood of being fired?
So this has been eating at me and now I need to ask it.
Situation: My folks planned an early birthday trip next week for me, which is also the week of inventory. I'm not going to be there at all for it and I was scheduled for three days that I'll be gone. I had asked off in advance, like a month in advance, and it was still denied for fear of how my district manager would react. My SM wants me to go, or at least she said she really wanted me to go when she had to deny it. This trip is non-refundable and everything has been paid for: plane tickets, events, hotel, etc.
Question: How likely will it be that I get fired?

DG Pokemon Bs
Dollar general managers and employees think they are the pokemon mafia it seems. One manager literally trying to charge “finder “ fees, another telling me it’s already held for other people, and another that I tricked into giving me something!
I asked employee at counter about 30th and manager yells from the back, are you the one I talked to on the phone! I wasnt, but said yes anyway! Out walks an ETB. Funny how that works!
It’s crazy to go to numerous locations and all the shit is sitting at the managers disposal rather than placed on the shelf where it’s supposed to be! As open as they have been it seems corporate encourages it. Shit is crazy man!

Dollar General on Satterfield without air conditioning for months
Boooooooy do I have a bone to pick with corporate about this one. Stopped in for the first time since moving into the neighborhood. I was greeted kindly and then hit in the face with the heat in that place. What in the world is going on here? A few days without it, sure. Close down. Get it fixed. But to STAY OPEN and expect workers to endure temps like we’ve had in the past several months? It’s inhumane. If I could barely stand it as a customer I can’t imagine what it has to be like for the workers. We put freaking men on the moon and you can’t even provide your workers with a decent working environment? Does OSHA even serve a purpose anymore? DG’s net worth is over $27 BILLION. READ THAT AGAIN. Yeah, I’m calling corporate tomorrow. Yeah, I know it won’t do any good. But these are good people working there and I’m tired of seeing employees being treated this way simply because the corporate elite doesn’t want to do anything. If anyone has any real solutions to help these folks, I’m open.
