legs/feet Will Dog bite injuries heal :(

Hi 26M I really need help to know if these will heal as dents in my leg or will they just become normal scars. I'm just worried about the big one, the smaller ones seem to be healing fine.

I'm a runner and I do body building so this is a big blow to me because I was attacked by a dog last week.

I don't want to sound superficial but its literally my job to do this and I already lost feeling in my left hand from the attack.

I am in a very dark place guys I'm sorry if I sound like I'm whining.

No treatment besides drs rubbing betadine daily on the wounds. I was attacked last week Thursday and it's Friday morning 3am Southern African Time.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks I'm tired of living like this. What do I do about my face?

Okay, so context. For the last... 6 or 7 years, I have had this redness on my face. You can see it doesn't effect around my eyes, but everywhere else is just completely red. It also comes with acne that bleeds profusely if I scratch at any of it too long. It doesn't pus or anything like that, it's just blood. No where else on my body has this. Not my back, not my neck or chest, not any of my appendages, just my face. I have tried using Peace Slices brand to help with it, but the most it's ever done is pop out the tiny capillaries around my nose after about a month of using it (Looks like that scene in Iron Man 2 where Tony is getting poisoned by the reactor, for context).

I am fairly hygienic. I shower most days, though my diet does consist of a lot of greasy food and coffee which might be making it worse. I have heard around that doctors don't really have a full understanding of why these kinds of things happen and what triggers it. I don't know if it's the sun, the caffeine, the grease. I know after I get out of a hot shower my face is particularly more red that usual, and when I do wash my face with CeraVe the acne spots start turning purple and get bigger.

I really feel like this, disease or whatever it is, is really hindering my chances of meeting a potential partner since on the surface it looks like I'm either sick or I don't take care of myself. People have called me Sun Raccoon in the past. That, accompanied with my rather poor dental state I feel like is putting me at a significant disadvantage in the social spaces of today.

Can anyone help me? I don't know the first thing about dermatology, how to make an appointment, how to get insurance, how to talk to a licensed professional. It's been 8 years of this and I'm tired of always being looked down on for this.

Hi, I've been monitoring this for 2 weeks now. My lips feel dry, peeling at the corners and burning sensation across the lips where you see the raised red areas, feels like a sun burn but I haven't left the house for extended period of time. Ive been using aquaphor lip repair but recently switched to plain Vaseline. I don't have any known allergies, it's confirmed not cold sores. No other symptoms. Sorry in advance of my close up. I've booked a blood test for next month in case it's vitamin deficiencies, my doctor believes it's just the dry/winter air, but I've never experienced this before. Thank you in advance

edit 1: my toothpaste is Sensodyne that I've been using for years. no oral sex. no other contact.

Hello have had these bumps on my nose for over 5 years, I think it’s sebaceous hyperplasia with rosacea but I am unsure. Anyone know how to get rid of these, every time I consult a derm they always recommend accutane. I have tried cryotherapy and red light but am unsure if these things will actually work. Anyone gotten rid of these before?

legs/feet Could this be Eczema?

Post image
• Upvotes

It’s been a common occurrence from about 17 or 18 up most of my adult life (I’m 26)
It’s on my ankle.
Tonight it got itchy, and burned slightly after I scratched it.
I haven’t touched it and now it’s fine.
Usually it’s just there and doesn’t bother me.
Sometimes it’s not even there.

I have several chronic illnesses (pots disorder, Gastroparesis)some sleep issues but that doesn’t feel related and they’re under control.
On birth control and some mental health meds.
But nothing related to skin.
Thanks

Post image

Hello I have these spots on my penis shaft that have been here for several months. It's as if the scabs break when I masturbate and hurt for a while until they scab back over. They are located on my penis shaft. They have been pretty consistent.its no itchy or painful until after I should masterbate and it's painful.

I have not tried anything as of yet.

What would you say these spots are and what would you recommend I do?

Thanks for your time.

genitals buttocks 23F – Recurring boils on my butt, groin, and armpits. Could this be HS, diabetes, or something else? NSFW Spoiler

• Upvotes

I’m a 23-year-old female, and I’ve been dealing with recurring painful boils for months now. They originally started on my butt cheeks, then I started getting them around my vagina/groin area, and I’ve also had them in my armpits.
Some of these bumps get really painful, swollen, and sometimes bleed or drain. I’m also currently dealing with what I think is a vaginal yeast infection.
I’ve been to the doctor before and received antibiotics and injections for the boils, but they keep coming back in different areas.
I’m starting to get concerned that something else is causing all of this. I’ve been researching hidradenitis suppurativa (HS) and diabetes because I’ve read that both can be associated with recurring skin problems.
I’m 5’9” and weigh around 217 pounds, so I’m also wondering whether my weight or blood sugar could be contributing.
My questions are:
● Does this sound like hidradenitis suppurativa (HS)?
● Has anyone experienced recurring boils and yeast infections because of diabetes or insulin resistance?
● Can HS cause boils in all three areas (buttocks, groin, and armpits)?
● What tests should I ask my doctor to run?
● Has anyone dealt with something similar and finally figured out the cause?
I’m honestly exhausted from dealing with this, especially because the bumps are now affecting such sensitive areas. Any advice or personal experiences would be appreciated!

genitals buttocks Discolouration in inner thighs/ inner butt cheeks NSFW

• Upvotes

I have had some discolouration on my inner thighs since the summer, I figured it stemmed from chafing from walking a lot and starting to exercise as I am a tad over weight (you can’t tell by looking at me but based on BMI). As for the butt cheeks I have just noticed it in the past few weeks. So I’m no longer sure if it’s chafing. It is itchy, but I suspect that’s from razor burn not the discolouration. On my thigh the skin isn’t as soft as my regular skin, but on my butt cheeks still feels normal. I guess it changes by becoming darker and not as soft.

As for what I have tried I used to have anal fissures so I have had anusol on there, have tried glycolic acid, polysporin and chamomile lotion.

Hi guys! I have a spot on my scalp that has been noticeable for a few months now. No noticeable symptoms, and it flakes off, but it always seems to come off. I am bad about messing with it however. Not much change over time, but I have bad medical anxiety and am freaking myself out. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks! Also sorry it’s not a good pic, I have really thick hair lol

I have had this itchy rash under one breast for a little over a week. Both nipples were also itchy for a minute. It has spread some. It gets pretty itchy especially after I itch it a little. Any idea?
I have tried some hydrocortisone for a couple days and started athletes foot cream starting tonight. Not sure if it’s just contact dermatitis.

neck/chest/abdomen Woke up to neck splotches

For the past month I’ve been experiencing an itchy chest and neck/chin on and off, with little to no physical signs of a rash. My partner has also been experiencing this on occasion. This past week i haven’t been too itchy, but these 3 bumps formed on my chest that I thought were pimples initially but now I’m unsure. I woke up this morning with these red splotches all across my neck, and I am curious to know if this looks like some sort of rash/infection or if I somehow scratched myself so hard in my sleep that I bruised my neck? My neck and chest haven’t been itchy today and weren’t before I went to bed either, so I don’t know why I’d be scratching there. Thanks!

I've done nothing in particular!!! Never had eczema or anything similar.

It's under both eyes.

I'm 53, no medical condition, nothing you introduced in my routine. It really baffles me... And it won't go away as of tonight, still just as red and sensitive.

Thank you, if just one person could say something useful, I'd appreciate it

neck/chest/abdomen Lump on neck appearing

Post image
1 Upvotes

A few weeks ago I noticed that a small lump under a mole had formed, then maybe a week after that it burst while I was in the shower and some pus came out. I figured it may have been an ingrown hair or just a pimple and thought nothing of it. I shaved yesterday and noticed that it had come back again but much bigger. Any ideas on what it might be? If it might be something to be worried about? Or if my original suspicion of ingrown hair might be correct? Only notice it after I shave and I use an electric razor

Timeline: Overnight they went from light pink to deep brown.

Symptoms: Since the appearance of these spots there has been no itching, burning or other pain.

Treatment: No treatments have been attempted.

Relevant background information: She doesn’t wear sunscreen. Yes,I’ve pestered her about it. 😩

Is there something you would recommend I try to clean up my skin, it certainly looks like I have light colored pink spots on my skin. For context I do little to no skin cares. After I shower every other day I wash my face and moisturize. The next day or so I do nothing with my skin. Also I shaved my beard just before this.

neck/chest/abdomen Is there any way to remove my birthmark?

Post image
2 Upvotes

I have a birthmark that covers my entire chest, and for as long as I can remember, it’s been something I’ve struggled with. I’ve tried so hard to accept it and learn to love it as a part of myself, but no matter how much I try, I just can’t seem to get there. I feel like it’s unsightly, and I’m constantly aware of how noticeable it is. I worry that it immediately draws people’s attention to my chest, and it makes me feel self-conscious in situations where I wish I could just feel comfortable in my own skin.

legs/feet Can anyone help me identify this rash?

I’ve had a very itchy rash on the backs of both of my lower legs for about a week now. It consists of small, skin-colored bumps, and the area becomes red when I scratch it. The itching is extremely intense, especially in the evening, and it’s so bad that I struggle not to scratch. The bumps also feel sore or painful when I press on them.
I shaved my legs a while ago, but not recently. I also recently had a rash in my bikini area, which has now cleared up.
I’m going to see a doctor about this, but in the meantime, I was wondering if anyone has experienced anything similar or has any idea what this could be.
I’d really appreciate any advice or suggestions! ❤️
I know nobody can diagnose me online, but I’d love to hear about other people’s experiences.

face/ears/eyes/nose/mouth/cheeks Is a 4–5 week wait reasonable for surgery?

Correction: It will be 57 days, over 8 weeks from my consultation appointment with the surgeon for the diagnosed BCC (from March 2024) on my forehead.

Is this proposed timeline reasonable for a large forehead BCC near the skull?

Biopsy-confirmed basal cell carcinoma, present since March 2024 on forehead above eyebrow.

Timeline: The lesion was approximately 5 mm in March 2024 and has grown to approximately 3–4 cm. CT showed smooth underlying skull bone without definite invasion. The lesion is not mobile relative to the skull.

Symptoms: Ulceration, crusting, burning skin sensation, and throbbing pain.

Treatment tried: Biopsy; surgical excision is planned.

Relevant background and proposed treatment: The surgeon plans wide local excision with assessment of the deep periosteal margin. If the periosteum is involved, a margin of bone may be removed and reconstruction delayed pending final pathology, with Integra or Biodesign placed over the wound. If the periosteum is clear, immediate reconstruction, potentially including a skin graft, is planned.

The forehead lesion is large and covered with an adhesive bandage. The bandage spans much of the forehead above the eyebrow. When the bandage is lifted, the lesion appears as an irregular, ulcerated area with dark crusting and exposed, moist red tissue, surrounded by inflamed, pink skin. It hurts a lot! Burning sensation. I have actual pain on the front orbital area of my skull from this diagnosed Basal cell carcinoma.

My consultation was September 15 and surgery is tentatively scheduled for November 18.

Questions: Is this timeline generally reasonable given the lesion's growth, size, symptoms, and proximity to the skull? Would requesting an earlier date or cancellation-list placement be appropriate?

I work in retail and it's physically demanding work. Approximately how long should I plan to be out of work?

For the last six months, I’ve gotten red and painful constellations of pimples stretching from my nose to my mouth. Sometimes they almost go away with zit patches and tea tree oil, but they come back with a vengeance. After doing Accutane for two years and now Spironolactone, I’m at a loss of what to do with these painful spots. Please help!

I picked at it a bit a few days ago (I know I shouldn't have). Thought it was just a pimple. I decided to take a pic of it and got worried. I feel I have a slight fever but IDK if it's related to it. Seeing a doctor soon but I wanted to get an initial opinion from the sub as well. Thanks in advance.
