So, I sold this little Tokyo Disney Resort exclusive keychain to someone for $19. Originally I had it listed for $23 because on other platforms such as Mercari, that is the going rate (and even more on ebay). I've even sold like 10+ keychains on Mercari for more with no issue. Anyway, I accepted her offer because she messaged that she really liked it and was hoping I could do $19, so I was like sure! Anyway, she left this review and it's just really disheartening because that's what they sell for everywhere else and I had to go to Japan to get them 😭 they're not available online outside of Japan, just at the resort or inside the park depending on which ones you get.

This isn’t that serious just more of a rant but I’m tired of people docking off stars over a smell I have no control over, as do others. I wash everything no extra scents either as I know how that’s also such a big issue with people as well. I’m just so over it like what am I even supposed to about that? 😭 this goes with any other issues that are out of my control once it leaves my hands there isn’t much I can do expect refund if the post office damaged or ruined the order.

Every other resale site I have used shows me more analytics than depop ever does. Why wouldn't you want your sellers to have that info?! Why do we have to boost and pay a 12% fee just to see that stuff?!
As a top seller who doesn't use boost, it can be very frustrating to not even be able to see recently sold comps.

I sold a $230 purse to this person after they sent two offers and I accepted a counter offer. I’ve packed the item up and was getting ready to ship it when I decided to read their reviews and found this.
Obviously this gives me pause! However, the buyer has 80+ reviews and this is the only negative one with any mention of scamming. The rest are 5 stars. The other factor is that the person who left this negative review is also an active seller with 300+ reviews and a 5 star rating. What would you do in this situation? Currently planning to reopen my package and get pictures of the bag in the packaging so I have proof in case the buyer tries something.

I had the item listed at $15 and discounted it to $5. This person offered $3 and $4 which I denied both. I'm really confused here lol EDIT: Thanks to all the responses so far! As someone new to selling on Depop, I appreciate the insight! Seems like the best move is to report both accounts to Depop, which I've already done. I also blocked both accounts and refunded the order.

I sold a pair of leather riding boots that were wide calf and listed/described/pictured as such. The buyer just raised an issue saying the “item was not as described”. I reached out to her for additional details, and her response is that she didn’t know SHE WASN’T a wide calf and they look “terrible”. She wants to return. Clearly, it is not my issue as the seller, as I described them correctly. I have never had a request to return. I want to avoid a negative review which I worry would be the result of me declining, but also don’t want to deal with a return/possible issues there when I have no fault? Advice?

I’ve been selling for a few months and finally got my first delulu message. The buyer asked to have me take way less $ for the top, as well as take payment off of depop. They even offered me a certain amount then asked for me to take less 😂 i wouldn’t accept any offer this type of person would give. I responded short and direct…thought about messing with them but it just isn’t worth the time!! Honestly gave me a good laugh. Reported and blocked. Good luck selling (and buying) out there! ✨

Not sure why this sub kept popping up on my feed with so many negative experiences from both (and Depop ads are everywhere). I just want to add my positive experience as a buyer to the pot.
The positive: I bought about 10 items so far. 4 leather handbags and they're all lovely, and very well-priced ($15-25 each before shipping). I enjoy cleaning and moisturizing them, so satisfying. The rest are dance tights (new in box), leotards (like new?), a workout set and a renfaire dress. All are below $10. I usually heart the items and keep browsing, and the sellers usually offer a 10-20% discount. Most of the sellers ship within a week, the handbags I got free stickers and thank you notes (very sweet of them).
The slightly negative: I have two not shipping and got refunded promptly.
The future: I'm looking to declutter my closet. Since I'm not a professional reseller, thinking of pricing my pieces low (under $10) and offering bundles? This is what I don't get about the complaints. You bought an item for $100 doesn't mean that someone will buy it for even $80. Sure hagglers and lowballers are annoying, but it's the same for Marketplace or other platforms. You can drop it off for free at Goodwill or sell it for pennies at consignment/thrift store. The economy is a hot mess and no one can afford a $25 used T-shirt (at least I don't). End of rant

I think I’m officially done buying on Depop 😭💀 I understand the prices are low, but WOW. This is now the second item I’ve received that absolutely stinks, and this time the shirt was listed as “like new” but showed up with stains that weren’t disclosed. 😭
& I do my due diligence!! I check sellers pages, read reviews, look at everything before buying. I’m a seller myself, so I KNOW what it takes to package an item and make sure it’s in good condition before sending it out. 🥲
I’m all for buying secondhand, but at least be honest about the condition of your items?? Am I just having the worst luck or what?? 😭😭😭😭

I’ve been selling them a platform for years, but I keep getting messages about sizes or measurements when it’s already been provided in the description and in pictures and it leads me to a conclusion do buyers just not scroll through the pictures because when I personally buy something on any platform. I scroll through all the pictures I looked through the whole description. I just don’t know.

This is the second time I bought "a brand new" clothing from Depop, and the second time an item arrived with a stain or used. When I confront them, it’s always "The stain wasn’t there when I shipped the item." "Everyone does it on Depop."
Can we collectively report listings that are inaccurate? No tags - it’s most likely not brand new.

I'm relatively new to buying on depop and I've had several issues with sellers who don't even bother to ship or respond to messages. I end up having to wait and then eventually getting a refund. I'm wondering if there's any type of repercussions when sellers do this or if they're just allowed to continue without any consequences.

has anyone noticed how many listings are saying seller away recently??! is it the trick where they lower the price and go on vacation mode and get ppl to like it before they increase the price?? I know this is a thing that people do and it’s rly fucking annoying. I feel like every single thing i click on nowadays the seller is “away”
r/Depop • u/pridebun • 21h ago
So this was a few weeks ago. But a seller had their prices super low. Like most items were 90% off. But they were on vacation mode. Ok, fine, maybe they're actually on vacation. I asked about an item and they mentioned that the item was not being for the current listed price and their shop was like that so they could get more engagement. So, like, should I report this or is this something that's allowed?

Hello again! So there have been a few times that I’ve purchased something and then noticed they were still on sale. Based on the description I messaged and was like “Hey, how many do you have available?”. A few times the seller was like “oh thanks, blah blah, didn’t realize it was wrong” you know, potentially saving them from the headache of someone else buying it and then them not having the product anymore. Well a couple days ago I bought a vintage halloween bucket and noticed the listing was still active. I messaged her asking my usual question and she confirmed she only had one. I told her that it was still active and she essentially blew me off. She was like “Well I’m out of town, I’m gonna ask my daughter”. Should I reach out to depop or just not bother?

Hey everyone, needing some quick advice!
I’m a seller on Depop and have recently been super busy moving apartments and starting a big project at work. I dropped off 5 orders at the post office a few days ago. Because I print my own labels at home, I usually just do what I've always done: walk in, place the packages on the counter, the clerk says "you're all set," and I walk out. Normally, they get scanned in that same day or the next.
However, 2 of these packages are now hitting day 9 since purchase, and the tracking on Depop hasn't updated to show they were scanned. Since USPS already has them in their possession, I’m really worried that:
Depop will auto-cancel the orders on Day 10 or refund the buyers.
The items will end up being delivered anyway, meaning I lose both the items and my earnings.
My questions:
Is there a specific way to contact Depop Support right now to let them know the packages are already dropped off so they don't auto-cancel?
Has anyone had success getting an agent to pause auto-cancellation or manually update the status when USPS is slow to scan?
What should I tell the buyers in the meantime?
Any advice on how to handle this or get in touch with support ASAP would be greatly appreciated as tomorrow they hit day 10!!

Why can’t you log in with email and password on the website?? I was trying to login but it sends a link to your email which you have to click to login
I’m not signed into my depop email on my computer
Not that big of a deal but super annoying, why can’t there just be a password option?

Hello I am a seller and a buyer is anyone else having issues with sending an offer to a seller? Every time I try to offer something it says “an error has occurred” is there anyway to fix this it’s been like this for over a week now (my app is up to date)
r/Depop • u/rabbidscarlett • 3h ago
I don’t understand why people do this. I haven’t had this happen to me before. Do I refund without asking why, not refund, or ask the reason for the refund? I’m so annoyed.

for the last 2-3 weeks, i have been experiencing a ton of glitches, for example, every single day when i wake up i send offers to people that have liked my items usually with a message along the lines of ‘i can ship today, let me know :)’ well for the last week, it’s barely even letting me send out offers, and by the rare chance it does, when i click ‘message buyer’ nothing happens, so i can’t even message the interested buyer. it’s definitely hindering my ability to make sales throughout the day as people are more likely to buy if they see your message that you can ship today. i tried logging out, deleting and re installing, and it still hasn’t changed anything. anyone else experiencing this?

Hi! I’m pretty new to selling on Depop, but have been selling on apps for 10+ years. I have three items I sold and shipped on Oct 2, delivered Oct 7, and still don’t have my balance available. Is this normal?
r/Depop • u/Caterpeanits • 16h ago
for context , I started to sell on depop about a month ago. whenever I get a sale , I try to ship it same day or next day. I looked at the website and thought to myself : hey, I should probably buy a thing or two here to see what the buyers experience looks like.
I bought three things
1). pair of jeans
2). shirt 1
3). shirt 2
the pair of jeans came in quite quickly and they're the cutest jeans I have ever seen. problem is that they don't fit me , but that's my fault for not understanding jean sizes. I'm planning to repop them soon. my main gripe is with the shirts.
shirt 1 hasn't shipped out my order , we are on day 9. I texted the seller to ask them about it , and they explained that they were at an event and were MIA for a while. i get that , but i would have loved to have been informed beforehand. I was also told they'd ship out that same day , but it's been two days since I asked them about it. if it isn't shipped by tomorrow, would it be fair to give them a 2-3 star review for lack of shipping + lack of communication?
shirt 2 was running on 5 days after purchase and I hadn't received any information on them or my package. so , I go ahead and text the seller to confirm when they'd ship. they said they would ship today , which they did. But , apparently they sent the wrong shirt. im waiting for it to arrive and get a refund and hopefully return the wrong item back to the seller if that is an option. they mentioned that they would relist the item so i could repurchase it so i can get my item , but I don't think i'll bother.
maybe im just being too hasty , but the lack of communication is really frustrating me. whenever I have something happen where I can't ship an item in a timely manner , I will always make sure to keep my buyers informed.
TLDR; i sell and bought things on depop for the buyer experience. two of my three sellers are / were considerably late to ship without informing me why , which i deem unprofessional. now , I think I'll spend my money elsewhere.

Based off what you can see from the review, this is what ACTUALLY happened:
I bought leggings off this girl that were labeled as brand new. I received them and they were used with a 2 inch bleach stain on the butt. I messaged the seller and asked for a refund because she lied about the condition they were in and she said she’d refund me but I have to cover the return shipping to her. I said I’m not paying out of pocket because you chose to improperly disclose a giant stain on the pants. If she wanted to cover the shipping I had no problem returning her garbage back to her.
We couldn’t come to an agreement so I filed a dispute with PayPal.
PayPal closed the case in my favor (obviously) due to the item being “Significantly not as described”
She got mad and gave me a 1 star review trying to make it seem like I wanted to keep the leggings for myself like pleaseee don’t piss me off. Is there a way I can dispute her 1 star review?
Edit cause woah lol:
I am in Canada. Going through Depop is not an option. Doing anything through Depop is not an option. The only payment option is PayPal.
Not everyone is American lmao
