Stormlight Archive spoilers Aren't 3rd ideal radiants OP? Spoiler

We see at the end of WoR that Kaladin can use his shardblade to transform into many different weapons. What's stopping someone from forming their weapon into all kinds of crazy shapes to win a battle?

Imagine just having your blade loop in two directions and then connect to completely immobilize your opponents weapon. Or even turn it into a 20 meter pole, but REALLY thin.

Cosmere spoilers (no previews/FoD) Shadesmar Sun Spoiler

Is the Shadesmar sun as seen in Roshars cognitive realm the Knell? Or where ambition died? This is literally it.

In other books like emberdark and some of secret history we are not described the shadesmar sun at all. It is not present there and does not play any role in those stories. It is absent.

One of the biggest problems in emberdark is that no one can effectively navigate shadesmar, mostly because of its lack of stable landmarks. The whole solution to the plot is having the navigators come about to solve this issue and give first of the sun leverage.

Dusk really wouldn’t need so much help navigating if the shadesmar sun was visible to him, it could at least establish some cardinal directions to him.

It makes sense then, that the reason that sun is only seen in the region of roshars cognitive realm is because the knell is nearby. This also explains its lack of movement, and weak light. It is not actually a representation of the sun at all, it is just a distant point of light that is close and bright enough to be mistaken for some weak sun.

In this case then, Roshar should be a neighbor of threnody, and the death of ambition.

Not really a theory here, I’m just wondering if this is established? I’ve not seen it mentioned.

Cosmere spoilers (no WaT and RoW previews) The Origin of Glyphs (Theory) Spoiler

Okay, so I went down a rabbit hole of looking at the Alethi glyphs and how they could relate to the tones. First, my thoughts came from looking at the Shattered Planes and the conversation between Jasnah and Kabsal in WoK. The way that cities took the shape of vibrations on a metal plate. This is further elaborated in RoW when Navani and Raboniel again talk about the tones and specifically the tones of Roshar, referring to the tones of Odium, Honor, and Cultivation. I believe that the Shattered Plains is a giant plate that the tone of Roshar itself is embedded in the stone. In RoW, we see the glyphs of Honor, Cultivation, and Odium in their ancient glyph forms. When they are overlapped, they create the glyph of Roshar. Is it a stretch to say that the radially symmetric shape of the Shattered Plains is the glyph of Roshar, but as its pure tone?
