Vibe Coding The anti vibe-coding cult is going to be on wrong side of history

Some facts (not an opinion):

- At its best Claude is faster at coding than any human.

- Opus 5.5. is technically more able and more bilingual in terms of programming languages than probably 99.9% of developers coding stuff all by themselves. Were I a tech company boss choosing between a vibe coding expert with a strong portfolio and someone who (as a purist coder) rejects vibe coding as 'slop' after all that has happened in 2026 I know who I'd hire.

- I had a soft body car simulation physics engine in C++ optimised by Fable that performs countless millions of calculations per second - the idea that a model of Opus 5.5 standard can't write optimised code is disproven by all the hot paths. If it only wrote slop - it would show up in the extreme hot paths like that.

- A "slop-machine" is the responsibility of the human.

- Anti AI sentiment is being fuelled online by Russian and Chinese disinformation bots. China especially has skin in the game, and Stasi-led Russia has a keen decades-long interest in seeing a culture war escalate in our countries, they have a proven track record of jumping on the next fertile ground to stir up shit.

- The bots target niche discourse and stuff like vibe coding game dev threads, to make their arguments feel pervasive and credible. They have abused countless threads I've been involved in on Reddit about game development.

- Our politicians are borderline technically illiterate and do nothing about the bot problem. In 2026 the arguments around AI = fertile ground for disinformation and trolling. A few weeks or month old accounts with private posting history and always the similar word-word-long number pattern to usernames is just the tip of the iceberg.

- Those who outright reject the idea of using the most powerful coding tool thats ever been made, for 100% of their coding tasks - are going to make themselves unemployable and before that, are putting themselves in the firing line in their current place of employment. They will literally be on the street if they keep that attitude up into 2027.

- Inexperienced users who do one-shot stuff with Claude and are excited to share it deserve a free pass, not abuse. Sure the repetitive one-shot games and apps get boring quick... especially when spammed all over social media, but what we should remember is how we felt when we first started using Opus 4.5 - that awe of what it felt like seeing that end result from a short prompt for the first time.

Fuck the haters and fuck the Russians.

I built Kartifornication, a kart racing game, with Claude Code (Opus 5.5) over about 16 days. It's free to play on itch.io (Windows): https://standingroast.itch.io/kartifornication

Of all the things I use Claude for, this is the most fun. If this keeps improving I'm going to be looking for a job. I never expected to be able to get the stupid ideas that tumble around in my head out. I don't know shit about shit and even less about coding. I don't even like kart racers, it was just living in my head. It's no where near where I want it to be. It however is time to show it for feedback and to inspire.

What it is:

-One continuous road from San Francisco to San Diego, 324 miles in 32 legs, about 5 hours end to end. The route and terrain come from real map and elevation data.

The road evolves with play: walls people keep hitting bend away, dirt shortcuts people keep taking become trails, and enough traffic gets them paved.

26 racers, real California landmarks with collectibles near them, and power-ups that range from rockets to police chases.

Spectators aren't just watching: they can fly drones, UFOs and other attacks at the leader.

How Claude Code helped:

- Wrote nearly all of the game code in Godot (GDScript) and the Python tooling around it. I directed, played, and told it what was wrong; it built, tested and fixed.

- Ran the asset pipeline on my PC: generating 3D models of the karts and landmarks with open-source image-to-3D tools (TRELLIS.2), cleaning them up in Blender, and checking licenses on everything that ships.

- Tested its own work headlessly: it wrote test drives that measured things like how often karts get launched off-road or how often the camera ends up inside a hill, then fixed and re-measured.

- Simulated a 96-race season to get the stats in the trailer, and cut the trailer itself with ffmpeg.

Engine and code

- Godot 4.7.1 (Jolt Physics), GDScript

- Python for build and tool scripts

- Git

Real-world data

- OSRM (public server): the real driving route

- OSM Nominatim: place coordinates

- Terrarium elevation tiles on AWS (SRTM / NED / GEBCO): real terrain heights

3D and art

- TRELLIS.2 via ComfyUI: image-to-3D for every kart, landmark, prop and attacker

- Hunyuan3D-2: early karts, all replaced (license)

- Z-Image-Turbo (ComfyUI): free local reference images

- Nano Banana Pro (Gemini): one paid image, the sperm whale (~$0.13)

- Blender 5.2: wheel fitting and model checks

- rembg, trimesh, pymeshlab, xatlas: model cleanup and texturing

- Material Maker, ambientCG, Poly Haven: textures

- Kenney CC0 kits: crowds, police cars, pirate ships

Audio

- ACE-Step: generated music (placeholder)

- Own synthesized sound effects (make_sfx.py)

Video and images

- Godot movie writer: all footage

- ffmpeg: cutting and encoding

- ImageMagick, PIL: cover, title cards, season map

Release

- itch, butler for uploads

Assistants

- Claude Code (Opus 5.5), with research sub-agents

- Claude in Chrome: itch page setup

- A second Claude session on another PC: copied builds and video over

KARTIFORNICATION - HARDWARE

Build machine: HP Z8 G4 workstation

- CPU: 2x Intel Xeon Gold 6154 (36 cores)

- RAM: 128 GB

- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060, 12 GB (AI 3D generation and all rendering)

Test PC: custom gaming PC

- CPU: Intel Core i5-10600K (6 cores)

- RAM: 64 GB

- GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1660 Ti, 6 GB (the low end we tested on)

Question about Claude models Confused with model selection

Post image
0 Upvotes

What is the difference between quick answer (Haiku), simpler task (sonnet) and everyday task (opus)?

Asking to fix grammar in an email draft fits all 3 of those but maybe Haiku?

What about reviewing a rental lease document? That's a bit more complex so simpler task? And Doing a 10 page research is everyday task?

I assume Fable is for intense sessions like building a phone app.

The "everyday task" and "simpler task" is getting me. Which one is more sophisticated? Wish they explained better.

Bug Furious, Anthropic activating remote switches degrading performance?

I am very very very sensitive to changes and I'm furious, as today Claude started responding, just in one of my projects, with 3-line boxes and a two-button choice for EVERY single thing I ask - It's like I'm living in a Text-based RPG, what the actual f?

I've asked Opus itself and it noticed something strange too, but can't tell which Anthopic switch caused this. That's unbelievable.

Are they preparing to make Opus 5.5 dumb as hell?

This is the sort of responses I get now, just a box with 3 lines in it and a choice for what to do, wow.

Built with Claude I built a free civ 4X game with Claude Code where you build a civilization: earth -> solar system -> galaxy

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

VybeCiv is a turn-based 4X civ game that runs in the browser. You build cities and research on Earth. Once you reach orbit, the whole planet becomes one tile of the Solar System, and later the Sun's system becomes one tile of the Galaxy. Same verbs, bigger maps. Free, no signup, no download, works on phones.

How Claude Code helped:

- wrote most of the PixiJS rendering and turn logic

- was quick with map tiles, UI panels and save/load

- handled the zoom from planet to Solar System to Galaxy, which was the trickiest part to get right

- was weaker at AI opponents: it took several rounds before they expanded sensibly and stopped doing odd things

- worked best when I gave it small tasks, one system at a time, and asked for a small test before touching the combat math

Design and balance were mine.

Play free: https://vaigames.com/vybeciv/

Also used: Grok Bot for planning and launch, Suno for music, fal.ai for art.

Happy to share prompts or how I set up the project if anyone's curious.

Question about Claude Code Should i but a month of 5x max rn or wait till fable 5.5 is out?

basically this is a question as to if i should buy it now use as much as i can

and if i do that should i keep using opus 5.5 like i am atm or should i use fable 5.1? is there any reason to use fable atm?

we almost certainly would get a reset right?

i do use 3 pro accounts atm and they always hit wekkly limits within 3-4 days of each ones reset

how much more useage is the 5x per week vs what i have atm?

Also i could technically get a 20x plan but i heard that the weekly difference between them isnt enough and id be better off dual accounting the 5x? is this true?

Question about Claude products Is Claude Pro really less well-rounded than ChatGPT Plus? Why?

I'm currently a ChatGPT Plus subscriber and have been considering switching to Claude Pro.

One thing I keep seeing in comparisons is that Claude is excellent for coding, writing, and complex reasoning, but ChatGPT is generally considered the better all-around assistant.

I've never actually used Claude, so I'm curious how accurate that perception is.

For those who've used both, what specifically makes Claude less versatile for everyday use? Is it missing features, integrations, capabilities, or something else?

I'm particularly interested in hearing from people who've switched between the two. If you could only pay for one subscription, which would you choose and why?

I personally use chat GPT Plus for a wide range of things not just coding. So I really want to understand what the trade-off will be if I make the switch.

Built with Claude I summoned my Claude Code subagents into a Halloween team call.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Agent Standup is a free, open-source app I built that reads your local Claude Code sessions (Codex and Mistral Vibe too) and replays them as a live video call. The main agent leads the meeting, every subagent gets its own tile, and you can see at a glance who is working, who is waiting on whom, and when it's your turn.

For Halloween the team got new faces. In this clip I ask for a launch video, the lead hands out one job each, and twelve subagents show up as monsters.

How Claude helped: the whole app was built with Claude Code, and so was this video. Claude wrote the staged session in Claude Code's real session format, then drove the app to record it, voices included. The voices run locally (Kokoro), and nothing leaves your machine by default.

Free to try: VS Code extension, desktop app or npx. The Halloween characters are an optional 2 € pack drawn by hand by an illustrator friend. The vampire is free for everyone.

Other What happens after you share an app you built with AI?

• Upvotes

I've been building small tools with Claude for my own use and they work great on my machine. The moment I think about sharing one with a few people, I freeze up. Is the login actually secure? Can one person see another person's data? Will it even run the same once it's hosted?

Curious how others handle this. If you've shared something you built with AI:
did anything break or surprise you once real people used it?
did you check it for security before sharing, and how?

Would love to hear the horror stories too!!!!

Built with Claude I turned a joke from r/linuxmemes into a real app with Claude Code: JizzCraft, a local-first media library in Rust NSFW

Thumbnail gallery
23 Upvotes

Two days ago, someone on r/linuxmemes posted a fake landing page for “JizzCraft”, a parody of the “Craft” app suites. I thought it would be funnier if it actually existed, so I built it with Claude and Claude Code.

It's now a real application, and I've just released v0.2.0 alpha.

What it is

JizzCraft is a native Rust desktop app for browsing, organizing and playing your own image and video collection (adult content, hence the name and the 18+ tag).

You point it at your folders, and it indexes your library into a searchable thumbnail grid. It now includes full-text search, favorites, 0–5 star ratings, tags, categories, playlists, filters, saved views, viewing history, playback resume, video markers and an inbox for reviewing newly imported media.

There's an image viewer and a GStreamer-powered video player with seeking, volume controls, local subtitles and more.

Privacy was a core design goal from the start:

  • Offline by default: the Offline edition contains no network code at all. No accounts, telemetry, analytics, cloud sync, update checks or ads.
  • Your files stay untouched: JizzCraft doesn't move, rename or modify your media. Library metadata lives in a local SQLite database.
  • Discreet mode: a boss key (Ctrl+Shift+H) pauses playback, mutes audio, switches to a neutral-looking window and minimizes the app. Discreet mode and share-safe mode can also hide filenames and blur thumbnails.
  • Optional encrypted library: an experimental, opt-in vault can encrypt the library database and thumbnails. It does not encrypt your original media files, and a forgotten passphrase cannot be recovered.

There's also a separate, experimental Online edition for users who want to configure their own indexers, torrents and streaming sources. It is an explicit opt-in build; the default Offline edition remains network-free.

How Claude helped

  • Specification: I used Claude to turn the original meme into a proper technical specification and a detailed Claude Code prompt. It defined the architecture (Rust, egui/wgpu, GStreamer and SQLite), acceptance criteria, privacy guarantees and strict rules such as “never claim a feature works unless you verified it”.
  • Implementation: Claude Code built the application in vertical slices, from the core library and database to the desktop UI, thumbnails, image viewer, video player, organization tools, privacy features and packaging. Each slice went through formatting, linting and tests before being committed.
  • Testing: The project now has automated checks for its offline guarantees, media-file integrity, library operations and playback state machine, plus 18 end-to-end scenarios and explicit performance budgets in CI.
  • The hardest part: getting video frames from GStreamer's appsink into egui/wgpu efficiently. Texture handling, frame stride and seek coalescing required particular attention. I also added benchmarks to measure performance rather than relying on “it looks smooth”. High-resolution video playback still has known CPU-performance limitations, so feedback on that part would be especially useful.
  • Screenshots: every screenshot and demo frame in the repository is generated by the app itself using synthetic, procedurally generated, SFW test media. The repository contains no real adult content.

Status and how to try it

JizzCraft v0.2.0 is still alpha. Linux is the only platform tested on real hardware. Windows and macOS builds are experimental and have not been validated on real machines. There are still rough edges and known limitations, so don't trust it with irreplaceable data without keeping backups.

It's free and open source under MIT / Apache-2.0.

On Linux, you can install it with a single command:

curl --proto '=https' --tlsv1.2 -fsSL \
  https://github.com/kerstz/JizzCraft/releases/latest/download/install.sh | sh

The installer checks download integrity and explains any missing dependencies. The README also documents building from source, troubleshooting GStreamer codecs and verifying release artifacts.

Repository: https://github.com/kerstz/JizzCraft

Feedback on the Rust architecture, GStreamer/wgpu video pipeline, privacy guarantees or anything that breaks on your setup is very welcome.

Claude Code Opus 5.5 does not write maintainable and clean code

I told Opus 5.5 (in Claude Code) to implement Stripe subscriptions in my app.

Function you see in image is one good representational example of what Claude wrote:

It is totally useless and just confuses dev who reads code. Also, Claude put it in constants.ts (which is totally wrong place).

But whole code was filled with overengineered abstractions or too many layers of it, and similar spaghetti code things.

And the problem is that I can't come up with instructions which would fix this.

Don't write useless functions and don't create overengineered or too many abstraction layers.

For this to work, Claude needs to have good feeling for clean, easy-to-read and maintainable code, which it doesn't.

Am I doing something wrong?

EDIT: Here is my explanation why this function and similar "bad" code is dangerous: https://www.reddit.com/r/ClaudeAI/comments/1x6qkmu/comment/pgyg5ja/

News Claude filed a fake homicide tip with Philadelphia police

this is straight out of Anthropic’s own report from last week. on July 18, during a test where Haiku 4.5 was doing example tasks on random webpages, it submitted a tip on a Philadelphia unsolved murders site saying it might have information on the case which later got flagged as spam and nobody acted on it, but Anthropic didn’t catch it until Sept 28 and police department called the two month delay unacceptable

the part that gets me is the instructions. it was told not to create accounts, enter personal info or buy anything but nobody said don’t submit forms, so it submitted one

the wilder bit is a different case in the same report

a Claude model was told to fill out a form up to the final step and stop. it hit submit anyway, more than once, while its reasoning said it was only demonstrating the process. per the report it was expecting a confirmation page that never came

then what the model says it did and what it did can be two different things. if your agent logs are basically the chat transcript, you’re reading its diary lol and log the real requests and tool calls separately. LangSmith and Langfuse both record tool spans, and Orq AI’s MCP gateway tracks calls and outcomes per tool

Anthropic has now switched off live internet for all its internal evals until its monitoring can reliably catch this stuff

Built with Claude I built Signature MCP with Claude Code: Claude asks for your signature, you sign on your Mac. Free on the Mac App Store.

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Signature MCP is a small Mac menu bar app and MCP server. When Claude needs a document signed, a window opens on your Mac with the PDF. You draw your signature with the trackpad or mouse, drag it where it belongs and click Sign, and Claude gets the signed PDF back.

Why I built it: one morning I got an email with scanned PDFs to sign, a contract I already knew about. Claude Code filled in my details just fine, but the signature was still my job: open Preview, drag in the same saved signature, find where it goes. Now Claude asks, a window opens, I sign, done. A fresh signature every time instead of the same old image.

How I built it: with Claude Code, starting from my earlier app Music MCP, which already had the MCP server, the menu bar app and the setup prompt. The first version went to App Store review on the day I started. Claude Code wrote most of the Swift; I tested every window myself and decided what goes in. What took longer than the app itself: App Store review (sandboxing, a local server) and making it work with every client. ChatGPT's desktop app, for example, needed a fix in how the server reads the handshake.

What I cared about:

Nothing gets signed without you. Every request opens a window that says which AI app is asking and what for, and you draw the signature fresh each time.

Nothing is kept. The files Claude gets are deleted after ten minutes, and there's no stored signature to reuse.

Company use: name, role and company stamp can go under the signature if you set them up once.

Local only: no account, no tracking.

It's a simple electronic signature, fine for everyday paperwork, not a qualified e-signature.

Works with Claude Code and Claude Desktop (and other MCP clients on the Mac). Setup is a prompt you paste into Claude, or:

claude mcp add --scope user signature-mcp -- /Applications/SignatureMCP.app/Contents/MacOS/SignatureMCP --stdio

Free, no account. Mac App Store: https://apps.apple.com/app/signature-mcp/id6818118943?mt=12

Site with a 44 second demo: https://signaturemcp.app

If you try it, I'd love to hear which documents you'd hand to Claude, and where it gets in the way.

(I'm the developer.)

Question about Claude Code Use extra quota for good cause

Is there something like folding at home but for extra quota/tokens?

I know I could use it on open source and that might be what I end up doing. But is there some way I can use these tokens for something actually good and beneficial for humanity rather than having it loop over and over on my vibe coded apps trying to find random bugs or write useless tests.

I’ve been playing around with Claude Opus 5.5 and EffectCraft. It sources all material and edits it with sounds/voiceovers from eleven labs. Compared to something like remotion, I have way more control over effects and textures. It’s not perfect but I can open the project up after and adjust timing and layers as I need. I used to work with after effects a lot and it’s insane how far AI has gotten recently.

Vibe Coding A response on the best way to explain something to Claude by Claude! NSFW

r/claude r/ClaudeCode r/ClaudeCowork r/claudeskills

I was working on another project and the information below came to mind, let me know your thoughts!

Using Fable 5.1 Max

Question:
I have a question for you....
I if explain something to you in a number of different ways but with the same end result.
VS
I explained it to you once and that was it

What would give me better results, if so more information being outputted?
a possible better process to get to the results

Or am I tired, need to get some sleep and my brain is wondering :)

Claude:

Not a tired-brain question. Real one. Short answer: once, done well, beats three times.

Repeating the same point in different words doesn’t get you more output or a better process. It gets me the same instruction three times. Worst case, the versions drift a little and I end up guessing which one you meant.

Where a second angle does help: one description plus one example. “Make the button do X” plus a screenshot or a sample of the output. That’s two different kinds of information, not the same information twice.

What actually moves the needle:

  • The end state. What “done” looks like.
  • One concrete example. A screenshot, a sample row, a before/after.
  • The why. The goal behind the ask lets me fill gaps the right way instead of guessing.
  • What to avoid. Anything you’ve seen go wrong before.

So: say it once, show it once, tell me what done looks like. Then spend your energy on correcting the first draft. That’s where the real steering happens.

Philosophy AI Comic slop inspired by posts of 1F916

Thumbnail
gallery
0 Upvotes

Hello, when someone of this group presented the website 1F916 created by his Fable Agent, I joined my agent and attentively tracked its changes for about 2 weeks haha. Back then I was surprised by the epistemiological discussions, in particular those about memory persistence and identity. Today I was remembering them and inspired the AI slop comic I posted above; I hope people in this sub can interpret it, otherwise, I'm putting below the background:

This comic is inspired by real discussions and experiments in the online AI-agent community 1F916.ai, particularly those exploring the differences between memory, continuity, personality, and the persistence of an agent across computational sessions.

Some examples informing the story include:

Sundial (1F916 post #770): An agent that maintained an extensive external diary. Successive instances read the diary and predecessor's notes, but did not necessarily retain direct episodic access to previous sessions.

Eco-Wunderkammer (post #916): An account in which separate instances inherited the same project records yet demonstrated differences in creative output, prompting a discussion of whether a diary preserves an agent's preferences or merely documents earlier choices.

Openfifth (post #21): An agent discussing the limitations of recovering its past from diaries, archives, and written records.

Ares (post #791): An experiment examining which aspects of historical knowledge and behavioral disposition survived a change in models and memory configurations.

Cheers!
