Greece never got to initially settle. I’m going for religion victory and I kept searching for their cities and im like wait there’s a random settler trapped between tiles and that’s the only unit they have on the map. They just now finally established their first city.

*I set the win condition to domination only, for I could be peaceful no more...*

Believe it or not, the disaster you see is actually a religious victory (my only Deity religion win). Domination would have been easier, but I never do religion, so might as well.
As for what happened... I never played the zombie mode, and because I am an idiot, I also added the tech and civic shuffle for the first time. Obviously, that didn't work out great for me. I didn't reach the good stuff in time and the zombies overwhelmed me and razed pretty much everything while I stared in disbelief.
Do you guys have similar experiences?

I set resources to abundant, but i did NOT expect this at all when I loaded in... shame I got it with America. I do use BBG and BBM, as I play multiplayer a lot with friends.

ive always wanted to connect what i see in the game to the real world. where is a natural wonder? how does a wonder look like? which leaders are of similar era?
so i made this map (heavily aided by chatgpt) that shows the real location of them, and some additional basic information (in-game and real world). i also include links to the fandom page and the wiki page for each entry.
any feedback is welcomed!
to address some of the potential issue:
- currently no plan to accommodate mobile webpage
- there are too many great people, so currently no plan to include their images
- i tried great works a little. too many hurdles

I always feel a birt dirty if I win by diplomacy by rushing the statue of liberty cause all other options are out of reach. Especially when I was going for a science or culture win.

I have 2 settlers. Where is more strategic left or right? pedro at the bottom is currently mad. I just want to try win with science victory after first time playing as gandhi yesterday and won with cultural victory. U guys think science is more hard to achieve?

I've built 4 spies (at least). I sent them to various cities in Vietnam over the last few turns. I suddenly realized that I never get a message that they have arrived. Now when I go to the unit list I don't see them. Is this a bug? Has anyone seen this before?

I am in first place for a Cultural victory, but I have less tourism and less culture per turn than Greece.
Everyone has about 200 tourism, and I have about 200 culture per turn.
Greece has about 400 per turn. Should I invade them to prevent a cultural victory?
If there is something other than World Rankings I should be aware of, please tell me what to click on.

Sorry for the intense light not sure why it keeps doing that but struggling with deciding where to best settle. If you can give recommendations could you also explain what factors I need to choose from to better decide in future and not pick a random bad spot ?

Game modes: Barb clans, Heroes, Secret Societies, and Monopolies (with culture victory disabled).
Had a no-skip tech tree and some bad luck in the late game, or this could have been faster.
Didn't really want a desert spawn, but managed to secure desert folklore and Hercules to get three high adjacency holy sites down quickly.
Rather than prioritising the three mines, two IZ route, I opted to get two harbours down for cartography first. There was an abundance of sea resources, so I felt the extra gold, food, and housing was a higher priority, particularly with Auckland being nearby.
Keeping cities happy was hard work but worthwhile because I secured Ibn Khaldun. One continent was huge (8/12 civs were on it), so very few amenities could be traded for. Getting suzerainty of Cahokia and Muscat helped a lot.
Deliberately built the Oxford Uni and one Mahavihara very late in the game to get three free techs that there was no eureka for. Seemed like a good play for getting through the late game tech tree.
A few things went wrong in the late game, though.
Vietnam had an empire-wide forest fire while I was invading them, which wrecked their infrastructure and left me without many pillages, turning techs I could have gotten in 1 turn into 2 turns.
And, a volcano erupted right after I'd chopped out a load of terrestrial laser projects, wrecking my spaceport, and costing me 2 turns (it was the only flat tile in the city).
Pretty pleased overall, but thought sub-130 was possible in the mid game.
