Chess Improvement FINALLY! Even if nobody cares, I had to share it.
I’ve been chasing this for a long, long time… (over far too many games).

I was hoping he would take the bishop, but I guess he had to.

Today I got an alert some guy i played was banned for fair play, thinking it was cheating i looked and realized it was rating manipulation, i was the one person he beat in 20 games 🤦♂️ maybe i should quit.

I always find chess.com is kind of hilariously dissing me by placing a mensa IQ ad after a loss

Many of us were taught how to play by our fathers, but maybe it was a mother, sister, brother, friend. In any case, you probably remember the day when you finally won your first game. What was that day for you and how did you feel about it?
I’ll start. My dad taught me how to play when I was five. I asked for chess magazines and begged to play him every day. One day when I was nine we played a game just like always except…I was winning more pieces. And then actually won. He looked really surprised. When I think back on it I realize he was proud as a father but then also embarrassed. It felt strange, but ultimately I was pretty pleased with myself. It launched a few years of study and tournament play for me.

I am absolutely ecstatic to join the four digit club. Just wanted to share my moment.
Edit: According to every post I have seen it seems like one should include the amount of time it took for them to reach it. Anyways, it took me exactly 120 days and I started from the lowest of the lows, 100 elo.

Hello all,
I've been playing chess on and off for a few years now but have always been particularly bad at it and have never been above 300 elo for reference. I figured you might all get a kick out of this particularly -100 iq game I had recently

what and why is your favorite chesspiece?

Below 900, I felt like people would blunder within a few seconds. 😂
Now, above 900, people actually take their time, think for a minute, and then blunder anyway. 💀
But the difference is that these blunders aren’t always obvious. I’m starting to realize that finding them and knowing how to punish them is becoming a bigger part of the game.
I’m at around 900 Elo right now, and I can already feel the difference.
For those who climbed past 1200 or 1500, what’s the biggest thing that helped you get better at spotting your opponent’s blunders?

I know I won against a bot. But this was perhaps the first time in my life I played without a Blunder, a Miss or a Mistake😭
I'm 156 elo in Blitz
Lemme enjoy the small pleasures of my life🙂↔️

The lags are terrible. There is a new animation showing what your premove will be so it jumps from a move to another and it is now impossible to play 1:0 time control on your phone.

I was really enjoying chess but after doing 400 games all the games feel the same and uneventful and its kind of lame. how do i get more eventful games? always in the same end games ect

Not a question, but I hope there was a Favorite option to go back to our saved games.

I'm on 1000+ ELO. What is the best opening for white?
r/Chesscom • u/Tekcraftmon • 22h ago
My new personal best of 90% accuracy - no blunders, misses or mistakes along with topping it off with a brilliant move, feeling like a winner 😎
