Designed and Made this Desktop 20 Disc CD library and it worked by turning a crank by hand, but I decided to add a stepper motor to see how fast this thing would go! I made a TikTok video showcasing the results. https://www.tiktok.com/@autismbawsome0/video/7692542410152283406?is_from_webapp=1&sender_device=pc

I bought these two death metal CDs from a huge bulk bin that a collector donated to my local physical movie store and I can't find any info about these. Like these look completely custom made...they are not bootlegs because I don't think this was even meant to be released

I got inspired by old home CD/DVD libraries from the giant Jukebox's machines from bars and diners and the 2000s Discs racks aesthetics of transparent plastics and Blobjects forms to create my own rack that can hold a substantial number of media's. But I wanted it to mechanically do something like have it scroll through the discs showing one disk at a time, so after some time thinking of a simple mechanism to achieve this, I came up with this design. It Basically a series of 3 arms that are divided into 3 separate tracks, forming a triangular helix that are guided linearly by the long-slotted shaft, so when you rotate the crank, it makes the arms follow the tracks and then pushes the disk trays upwards, then gravity forces them to go back down when continuing to turn. So originally, I made a single arm 20 rack version, but that made scrolling very slow by only showing a single disk at a time, so it would've taken 20 turns to show 20 disks, but lucky I thought about increasing the number of arms for this latest 3 arm version which now scrolls through all 20 disks in just 6.5 turns! Many times, faster than before! This is a Very large print that'll take 14+ hours and will used almost half of a full spool of filament, so make sure to enable outside brim only and apply glue to secure it to the build plate just in case. DISCLAIMER! I am not responsible for any damages to your printers or to the CD/DVD media that this model could do, I consider this a WORK IN PROGRESS, so its not officially finalized yet, just posting the latest one for progress and getting it out there! Hi everyone! I'm a college student researching why people still collect CDs in the streaming era, and especially what makes them pick up CDs directly from artists at live shows.
CDs are an interesting case. They're more affordable than vinyl, and many independent artists still sell them at gigs, but they rarely get the same attention. I'd really value this community's perspective. If you're 18+ and have been to any live music in the past year, the survey takes about 10 minutes and is anonymous. I'm not selling anything.

Thanks! And I'm curious: what's the best CD you've ever picked up at a show?

My parents got me a cd player for my birthday, and i was wondering how good it was at burning songs on cds.

We’re planning on getting our 8 year old a CD player and some CDs for Christmas, he’s not ready for a phone but we want him to be able to listen to music on his own without using our phones, especially on long car rides. We’re really excited about the idea, but I don’t know what CD player to get! I don’t want to spend a lot on it, since he’s 8, but I don’t want it to be total crap either. I’m just not sure what to look for. In my preliminary search I found that some have external speakers now and I definitely don’t want that.

This is the first big hit that I’ve had at a KC-area Savers in years of looking. A good cross section of rock that adds a lot of depth to my collection - classic, garage, punk, post punk, grunge, and some of the less mainstream variety. Looks like that Blue Oyster Cult album is not streaming, out of print and worth a few bucks. My favorite Willie album too. Also the first time I’ve seen the $3.99 price point for more desirable titles that aren’t double albums - stacked on the bottom for reference. Disappointing but worth it. I’m just hoping they keep the standard $1.99 price point a bit longer

Hello everyone! I need your help. Can you helo me understand if this is a rare Ariana grande Cd?
I’ve tried searching online, including collector databases and marketplaces, but I can barely find this exact cover anywhere. Most of the copies I find have different artwork.
Does anyone here own this version, recognize it, or know anything about how it was distributed? I’m also curious about how rare it actually is and what a copy in good condition might be worth.
