This might get asked already but for Glock 43x MOS using 147gr JHP. What would be the best zero distance for red dot?

Guns & Ammo Nothing but issues with my bodyguard CC 2.0. So disappointed, I'm done with S&W.

I was so excited to get a "real" pocket pistol to seriously carry and this just took it all out of me.

I received my bodyguard carry comp 2.0 last week and immediately cleaned it up and lubed it and spent hours upon hours racking the (incredibly gritty feeling) slide every single day to loosen it up, flicking the safety on and off so many times to "break it in", and i finally took it to the range today, alongside my other cheapo 380 pistols and a bunch of different ammo types since i know 380 pistols are sometimes picky.

Nothing but issues. failure to go into battery, constant failure to eject/stovepipes, frequent light primer strikes no matter the ammo, (Remington round nose UMC (which ALL my other 380 pistols will eat consistently, its my go to for testing out a 380), Winchester white box, federal punch, federal hydro shok, and Hornady critical defense.).

the mags are genuinely impossible to load, and now i know why, because it seems to use the mag as help with the ejector, because if the gun didn't have a mag in it, it would never eject the casing, like not a single time i tested it, it would stovepipe each time, in a super weird angle like it wasn't even pulling it to the side. i put maybe 300 rounds through it and it never once got better.

the slide is insanely painful to rack. i normally run 365 xmacro, glock 19, usp compact, etc. im no pansy with grip strength but the slide is not only insanely difficult to rack, the serrations make it feel like its cutting into you, in a bad way. i don't feed that it provides "grip". i feel that if they weren't there at all or were very much less aggressive, it would be so much easier to rack.

To compare, i have some "garbage" 380 pocket pistols, taurus curve, taurus spectrum, and an old used and beat up Ruger lcp (not max), and to compare them, the slides are all easier to rack, the mags easier to load, and most importantly, (and unbelievably in the case of the curve), work reliably. no issues with light strikes, no issues with ejection with or without the mag, no issues getting into battery etc. and even if they did have a failiure the slides are so much easier to rack that i wouldn't be worried about tap rack banging out the failiure.

all that just to say, i am incredibly disappointed that i could never trust my life to this gun. it is insanely unreliable and i wont be playing roulette on whether ill get a light primer strike and have to wrestle with the incredibly hard slide to clear it, or whether ill get a stovepipe and again have to wrestle with the impossible slide under pressure with possibly sweaty hands.

I dont want to spend an extra like 200$ on more rounds of 380 ammo just for the chance that it'll "wear in" and get more reliable over time. Despite what the general consensus says, i have never had an experience with a modern production big brand gun being unreliable out of the box and magically becoming actually reliable after an undefined number of rounds through it.

I'm not looking forward to sending it in to S&W to service, since my previous experiences with S&W CS has been nothing short of atrocious with return times ranging from 6 to 10 months, (despite them swearing it'll take 4 weeks tops) and they rarely end up fixing whatever issue is causing malfunctions anyways.

i think im done with S&W for good. Ive had issues with their revolvers out of the box (cylinder binding on a brand new TRR8 out of the box), issues with their full size semi auto pistols (issues with ejection mostly) , and now issues with their pocket pistol. I'm done giving them chances because this is just too much. I'm in awe at how a damn taurus of all things is more reliable for me than a big name brand like Smith and Wesson.

Sent 2 boxes down range today to test how they’d shoot. I liked them and I was comfortable with how I handled the recoil. So these 2 boxes will be for carry.

Training Genuine question what advantage does an “audible trigger reset” have

I see a lot of guntubers bitch about how it’s quiet on certain guns… they act as if they’re really gonna be listening for those clicks in a real life situation 😂 after you let off 1 round you ain’t gonna be able to hear for shit anyways it’s just seems like a moot point to me surely I’m not the only one ?

Guns & Ammo S&W Bodyguard .380 or Springfield Hellcat 9mm for CCW?

My buddy just got the Bodyguard, and we're going out to the desert to shoot it soon so I can decide if I want to get one, but I read a bunch of stuff that it has almost half the stopping power of a 9mm. I'm already a Springfield fan, so I naturally gravitated to reviews on the Hellcat, and I really like what I see. My XD 9mm is just too big for ccw. I recently asked this community about a good IWB holster, but after all my research, I really think its just better to get a different gun for my needs. Any input is greatly appreciated. Also, totally willing to look at other models in the micro class if anyone has suggestions! Thanks!

Holsters & Belts Holster upgrades. Before and after.

Took the clip and stock wing off my Vedder Lighttuck and stitched to a DCC clip and Ulticlip Crux concealment system. The stock wing just wasn’t aggressive enough for my taste and Vedder doesn’t offer larger sizes to my knowledge. This has been a great upgrade

Getting Started First CCW Recommendations

Hey yall, I’m looking into getting my first CCW/handgun. I live in a pretty shitty town where break-ins and carjackings are pretty common so I’ve been wanting to get something to protect myself. I’ve done a little research over the last few days, and have come across so many different options, and honestly don’t know how to choose between them. I’m looking for something preferably 9mm, pretty compact, and in the ballpark of around $500. Right now, im leaning towards something like the G43X or M&P Shield X, but thought I could ask yall for your opinions and input as well.

Guns & Ammo P365 XMACRO OR Alternative? (For actual xmacro owners)

Coming from an echelon compact, i have realized that slimmer pistols (or even slimmer than the echelon) are just that much more achievable and comfortable for me when carrying. Such as a hellcat, p365, shield. Now height and length does not bother me long as the pistol has the slim build like a p365. I am interested in a high capacity carry like the xmacro. Im not the biggest trigger snob because in real shooting you're not sitting there pulling the trigger at .01 mph studying every incrimant of a trigger pull and reset. As i am interested in the xmacro, i do remember having the p365 when it first came out. I remmeber the trigger just really feeling akward as hell with a very vibration of a trigger break that was really usettling to me. Does anyone feel like that with their xmacro or have done anything to make it more enjoyable when shooting? I am debating on an xmacro or open to other suggestions. Definitely keeping it under the 1k mark.

Holsters & Belts Modern Null SKR (“City Slicker”) type holsters?

Does anyone know of a company making plastic/kydex holsters today like this Null SKR here: https://vintagegunleathertoday.com/products/k-l-null-skr-black-bk-polymer-shoulder-holster-for-s-w-j-frame-revolver-36-60-2

I can’t explain why other than just wanting an interesting/fun J-Frame holster in my collection. I’d buy a vintage one, except I’m left handed and haven’t come across one yet.

Guns & Ammo Info on good porting companies

I currently carry a G43x and was wondering what companies you would recommend for porting, I do like the look of the Glock C cuts but it’s not necessary. I recently had a radian ramjet and loved it, but it made the gun a little less comfortable to carry (I know carrying shouldn’t be comfortable) but there’s no reason it shouldn’t be super uncomfortable, and I would rather carry the gun every day than on occasion, so I’m not using it anymore. I also know that it’s not necessary to have ports or a comp on a G43x, but I want to make it more enjoyable and comfortable to shoot so I train with it more, I’m not worried about all of the low light and close quarters scenarios, because I would rather have a gun that I carry everyday and am more proficient shooting, than not being as proficient because of a possible scenario that might happen. Thank you for your recommendations and time!

Other Equipment Bore sight laser that fits BG 2.0?

On Amazon it looks like most .380 bore sights either don’t chamber properly or are wildly inaccurate (or both).

I’ve noticed that some dummy rounds just don’t work with the bodyguard.

Maybe we should have a lending library here cause it’s not something I use every day 😆
