question What is this monster?

I know Halloween is coming up (PS I didn’t even realize Thailand celebrates it) but this monster thing scared the beejeezus out of me as I was coming out of Silom Complex. I mean you don’t see it right away as it’s not in eye-level.

But they really went crazy scary with this one.

event What's on in Bangkok this weekend (October 16–18): nine picks

Weekend roundup for anyone still deciding. Storms are forecast all three days, so check the organizer's page before anything outdoors (the Art Walk and the Sunday sunrise run).

Friday: He Huang (the comedian whose Australia's Got Talent audition went viral) does stand-up at The Comedy Club Bangkok above The Royal Oak at 20:00 (700 baht advance, 900 at the door). Dutch DJ duo Sick Individuals play Levels at 22:00 (500 baht, 600 on the day, 20+). For something free, the Bangkok Art Walk fills the Pak Khlong Talat flower market with artists, street food and live music, Friday to Sunday from 15:00 to 23:00 (MRT Sanam Chai).

Saturday: PREP play Melt Livehouse Cloud 11 at 19:00 (2,500 / 3,500 baht, still on sale). Dogfest 5 takes over Hair of the Dog in Phrom Phong from 17:00 to midnight: 29 taps, 40 kegs, unlimited pours and a glass to keep (2,000 baht, 2,500 at the gate; the early bird is sold out). Later, ISAKAMI Nights brings Makasi, Cameron Glasgow, Ilia Rimen and Gavin Francis to Baccarat on Sukhumvit 24, 22:00 to 04:00 (door tickets only, 21+).

Sunday: TRIBE Runrise is a 4 or 8 km sunrise run from TRIBE Sky Beach Club at EmSphere (meet 05:45, 299 baht with a beer, ice bath and pool). Dip Garden Onsen in Ari has an ice bath and sauna meetup from 11:00 to 14:00 (750 baht). In the evening, Youth Khon 2026 puts 80+ young performers on stage at Lumphini Hall, 16:30 to 19:00, free.

That's nine of 183+ events this weekend; the full list has far more festivals, gigs, markets and meetups, with dates and ticket links: https://www.bkkpulse.com/bangkok-events-this-weekend

question Cafés with nice outdoor areas

I'm trying to make a list of cafes with comfortable outdoor seating.

(mainly because I like to study and speak out loud while doing so, and I don't want to disturb people in a quiet cafe)

So far I have:

  • Bang Chak: Tavy's Home
  • Punnawithi: True Digital Park / Cloud 11
  • Punnawithi: 66 Cottage
  • Ekkamai: M Cafe

Does anyone have any more suggestions? Any area of Bangkok would be appreciated.

Edit: Thanks everyone for amazing suggestions!

question Sourcing Testosterone in Bangkok

• Upvotes

Hello guys, I've been looking around for testosterone enanthate / cypionate vials (the 10mL ones) but most websites looks very dodgy and I've been told that the stuff in Bangkok's pharmacies are often very bad. Where do you guys source yours?

question Where in Bangkok can I sell a Seiko watch?

• Upvotes

I have a Seiko 5 field sport gmt that I ordered from Singapore but it doesn’t suit me too much so I was looking to sell it. I don’t really want to go through the whole process of finding a private buyer for it so i was wondering where I can find shops that would just give me a price and take it off my hands?

I wasn't able to attend this - I did not know about it - but I am in Bangkok now and will drop by the sculpture garden and pay my respects to the students who fought for Thai democracy.

The article gives a nice little history of what led to the reforms of 1973 and why 1976 happened. My best to the Thai people.

I know there are already lots of recommendations, but does anyone have any recent recommendations for Muay Thai gyms in Bangkok or Chiang Mai? Also, which city would you recommend for training? Thanks in advance!

tourism Looking for interesting (not typical) events to do for an adult family trip.

I’ve got my family (5 adults) coming over in December. I’ve already booked a river tour. Thinking about doing a cooking class but not sure which one is good yet. There’s also a sip and paint place I’m considering. Bustaurant as well.

Are there any suggestions you have of things you’ve done that’s not usually the first thing that comes to mind when doing things in Bangkok. I’m open to all ideas.

question Can anyone PLEASE recommend (put me in contact) with a builder/chan for a smallish project.

Im in Sathon, and I need an external/internal wall built in a shophouse.

it's inset 4 feet into the main area, is approx. 3mX2.9M.

Aluminium frame with weatherproof external and double internal sheeting.

I have a door and two small windows to install as well. (already have the hardware)

---

I had a builder but they ghosted after doing some of the work we paid fir, and we had already bought the door and windows, so when we tried to get HomePro Chan to do the work the refused because they can't sell us the doors and windows again.

SO I really need a builder to put this up, no painting needed, no real finishing needed, just the framing, and sheeting, door jam, windows and so on.

Its maybe 2 days work.

Not looking for the cheapest price, just looking for it to be done asap.

ANY help is going to be TRULY appreciated.

question what is your go-to apps / services to rent a car for a long term

basically the title, for a little bit of context - i plan on going for a road trip to north, so the dealerships' rents are out of option - they have a mileage (or kilometerage if u prefer) limit - not sure how they enforce it though

entertainment Lido Connect Concert Venue Food?

Hi! I am flying to Thailand for the first time specially just to attend a concert. The venue is Lido Connect, and I wanted to ask if there is a store to buy food inside the venue (after scanning your ticket.) Because I'm looking at the entry time and the concert start time and confused as to what I'm supposed to do for those 2 hours during dinner time. Thank you!
