Giles Screenshot this on tumblr many eons ago and this still makes me laugh every time I look at it š
On another note, for someone who is a Watcher, Giles being caught off guard seems to be a recurring theme.

Season Three SE E1 Anne - Time Thought
Random musing on a rewatch...
In season three episode one, Buffy enters another dimension where 100 years would be one day on earth. If Buffy had spent just one hour in that dimension, 4 years and 2 months would have passed on earth. One minute would have been 25 days. Assuming she was only away from home over school break, she must have entered that dimension after just a few days and only spent 2 or 3 minutes down there for it to make sense time wise š
ETA I am dumb and worked it out backwards! Thank you to everyone for pointing it out.
Season Three A Question about Principal Snyder
We (my GF and me) have finished Season 3.
And my GF said that the Principal Snyder is a Vampie.
She claims that she saw him with the vampire at the end of an episode but i can not find anything about that.

Content Warning Did Anya get a new pendant?
So this just came up in my mind today for no reason. Anya had a pendant that made her a demon originally. They smashed it and she wasn't a demon anymore. Then she became a demon again. Did she get a new pendent?

Brain Storming What does Predators do with skins
Skinned bodies hanging high are first things to find when Predator is around, but unlike skills that end up to trophy case, what they do with skins?
Knit a neat scarf? Remodel walls on their quarters?
Has it been mentioned anywhere?

General Discussion Berserker is the most incompetent predator in the franchise. Change my mind.
That bastard literally got beaten up by a weakened predator, only won because he was a superpredator, you know, brute force and blah blah blah, and died decapitated by a human.

Season Five Update on gaslighting about Dawn
So as some of you saw from my original post I lied to my friend about Dawn's origins (link below)
https://www.reddit.com/r/buffy/s/9NpdA8b6i9
For those who thought i'd ruined the show for her, don't worry she did not feel that way. Lying to eachother about media is our love language. She once got me to watch brokeback mountain and told me it had a happy ending, then took photos of me sobbing during the credits.
Know a few people wanted her reaction but as it was fairly tame I didnt intend to post it until someone asked for an update and I felt bad leaving y'all hanging so here it isš

Spoilers inside! Was Andrew telling the truth about The Scoobies no longer trusting Angel because he was running Wolfram & Hart?
Hopefully someone who read the Buffy comics can help, but I got the impression that Andrew was fronting really hard in Angel season 5, when he claimed that Buffy ordered him to retrieve Dana, the mentally ill Slayer seen in Damaged. Was this ever discussed in the Buffy comics, the gang finding out about Angel being put in charge of Wolfram & Hart?

General Discussion Whatās the weakest film in the franchise?
After watching Prey, Killer of Killers, Badlands, Predator, Predator 2, and Predators while I havenāt seen The Predator or Alien Vs. Predator yet I feel like my opinion wonāt change after seeing them.
After watching Predators I had many complaints, it was uninspired, the camera work was shoddy, the acting and characters felt like cardboard cutouts, etc.
Hereās what I liked: The idea of having multiple Predators hunting kidnapped humans on an alien planet is interesting. Having the cast be a diverse group of international killers is interesting. Introducing a rivalry between classic Predators and these Super Predators is interesting. Unfortunately the film in my eyes fails to properly execute all of these interesting ideas effectively and comes off completely uninspired.
With the film taking place on an alien planet there was so many possibilities in the distinct flora, fauna, and terrain of the planet but unfortunately itās just a jungle like the first film only with a much less lush and beautiful terrain. For some reason poisonous plants from earth are on the alien planet? And on top of all that we only see two completely new creatures, one is a humanoid who died almost as fast as he was introduced and the other was alien hunting dogs that disappeared from the film after their introduction. Lastly, with such a diverse cast why did they all happen to speak English and why did they make the protagonist an American mercenary again?
And all those gripes donāt even compare to the number of things it takes from the original, the climax is literally a repeat of the Dutch fight except Dutch is replaced with a less athletic mercenary with less traps and no vines or anything to swing behind trees. Instead the whole fight just was him running back and forth taking cheap shots with an axe. And another thing, why did Royce have to say the same line as Dutch? Why did he have the same strategy of covering himself with mud? Couldnāt the writers come up with a different way to have a character fight a predator?
When I went online (my mistake) to see what other people thought about Predators I was surprised to see a large number of people giving it an average to high rating. Many claimed it was their second favourite film in the franchise!
Is Predator 2 the second weakest of the films? Yes. But is it way better than Predators? 100% while it is a flawed film just like the original Predators 2 works mainly because shit just happens and itās cool. Predator getting struck by lightning while roaring from the top of a building? Dope. Predator hunting voodoo gangsters? Dope.
Predator 2 knows is a dumb violent action movie and thatās why it works in my opinion. Another thing is that Predator 2 is actually a good sequel unlike Predators. Itās a sensible evolution of the original idea. To move the hunting grounds from a jungle to a concrete jungle was a wonderful decision in my opinion. Furthermore the protagonists in Predator 2 are much more fleshed out than Predators. Having Mike Harrigan learn the lore through the special agents trying to catch a predator makes way more sense than Isabelle the random soldier in Predators just happening to know without any explanation as to why. Lastly Harrigan and the other characters are actually memorable and unique at least in comparison to the Predators cast.
I could go on and on but this poorly executed and disorienting rant is getting out of hand, I just wanted to put my opinion out there and see what people on this sub think.
By the way, to everyone who read this far I hope you all have a nice day.

Content Warning Thoughts as someone who finished Buffy as a first time watcher šCan you guys also give me all your opinions. What did I likely miss as someone who misses a lot⦠Spoiler
galleryMy season rankings : 5>2>3=4>1>6>>>>>7
lol also some of my favorite moments ^
Anya š¤ initially in season 4 I didnāt like her character but by season 5 and onwards I ended up loving her and she was my favorite in all of the scenes. Sheās funny and adds a lot of character and light to the group. I love her one liners š I was also tearing up when she was crying about how no one would tell her āwhyā in regards to Buffyās mom dying </3 her death at the end of season 7 hurt š
Season five absolutely blew the rest out of the waters. I mean it was anazing, I felt as if all the characters were starting to reach their potential with story telling and growth. Dawn was added in beautifully. I almost convinced myself that her dad must have had her and they were separated or something.. but slowly by episode four it hit me when Joyce didnāt recognize her. and also when you remember how Faith was saying your sister was coming, I was like what the hell does that mean lol and then it made sense. I wish I saw all foreshadowing clues cause the ones I caught were spectacular and in a way I wish I knew them all beforehand š
Joyceās death was heart wrenching. I think the episode was hinting at it the whole time because everyone was so happy. It made me suspicious that something bad was going to happen then it just it just smacks you in the last freaking 1 min 30 sec.
The ending of episode 15 and the start of episode 16 were some of the saddest Iāve watched and I was crying the whole time. Especially hearing Buffy say mom.. Mom.. mommy? š acting was amazing, felt so raw. Looking back I honestly think if I was to rewatch, 5 would still be my favorite but 2 and 3 might switch positions. I really liked them both cant quite decide on which one I like more. The nostalgia in the first three seasons is unbeatable though <3
Season 4 -I donāt get the flack that this season gets. To me its overall arching story was better than season 6 and 7. I think season 4 had the strongest start to a season other than season 5, and continued to have good episodes. Where as with season 2/3 they all got so freaking good as it went on. Season 4 definitely waned as the rest of season went on and by the end I wasnāt interested. I know the finale is special to most Buffy fans, I still have to rewatch it and see if I like it after having finished the show. Wasnāt the biggest fan initially watching it but heard you watching it knowing everything is fun too.
Season 6 Musical episode was a little interesting, not sure how I feel about it but i liked that Buffy was finally able to tell her friends that they didnāt save her, I felt like that was the pinnacle. Iād been waiting for that. And also Giles is a great singer at the very least. 6x8, where they forget each other is golden though and was one of the best in the whole season for me. I love getting to see them banter š it reminded me of the 3x18 where they say whatās on their mind all the time and that was also one of my faves lol.
But I have to say I hate that they made that trio of tater tots boys a constant parts of the sixth season and the main villains. Only for them to still be there in freaking season 7. I would have liked seeing a better big bad for that season or ok just have them in ONE not TWO seasons as main villains⦠Compared to Gloria, I feel like it was a big step down but Im biased becuase season 5 was truly amazing and I loved all the details. To me they felt like they were given too much big of roles for how little they contributed to me other than being complete incels. Jonathan I expected better from given the history he has with Buffy. Also the ending of season 6⦠watching Buffy and Xander be the sweetest friend to each other and Tara and Willow finally getting to the point where they are ok ⦠and then TARA??????? š that hurt because she really was such a pure soul.
It felt like a stab to the heart but only of the only times I could tolerate Xander in the show was when he brought willow back and kept telling her he loved her. š¤
Spike assaulting and attempting to r*** Buffyā¦. I found that scene really triggering, im sure any women would. I think especially seeing her dressed so āmodestlyā was a detail added to show that no matter what you wear, a man will still choose to r*** you. It was really f***** hard to watch that given that I wanted so bad for Buffy and Spike to end up with each other. Again a great example of the acting and direction. Really well executed. It also definitely felt like character assassination at that point because Spike had done so much to try and atone for his past. Him and Dawns relationship was so cute. Niblet š« I just dont get it, but thats how rape happens in real life too. Its always the people you dont expect so I know that I cant argue. it was just hard to watch :/
Giles was such a great character throughout the whole series. I really saw a missing piece when he was gone during the 6/7th seasons. And speaking of the 7th, I felt like the plots of it were fine but I just found the overall episodes boring. Even with the addition of the potential slayers, good concept but didnāt play out well to me on screen. I struggled getting through this season tbh. I started to miss the vibe of season two where the was random big bads for an episode or like 2x11 is one of my favorites with John Ritter š also Buffyās boss asking her out???? So weird lol like I just ???? but Faith returning was definitely a highlight and much needed spark back to the show. Definitely ended with a bang , episodes 18 and onwards were good. Lowkey the nostalgia in a way was brought back seeing some of the older characters come back. (except Anya šššš and lowkey spike but apparently thereās Angel and heās back on it so idk)
I also donāt think Buffy had one fair and amazing love interest throughout the whole show. I think every guy was so subpar compared to what she deserved. I thought it would be Spike but I just canāt think that now given the things that went down in season 6. Iām glad she ends up alone because she is the best person for herself.
Also this is one of the cutest and sweetest fandoms on Reddit.

Good Vibes Only London (and adjacent) Buffy fans meet up?
U/dealer-lost and I (after much mutual excitement over Buffy Revamped) were discussing maybe having a little Buffy fans get together October/ November. 100% not sure what we'd do, but could be jokes - don our finest 90s garms or BtVS attire, go for a spooky themed walk, get a mulled wine.
No pressure, just why not try. I'm the worst at this stuff and being organised in general but hey ho, give it a go.
(Apols for the terribly edited photo - but that's my face, so you know I exist and I'm not using anyone as bait to catch some vamps.. Or something).
Hopefully post is allowed.
Cheers

Figures/Statues Neca 1/4 scale Jungle Hunter customized
I want to show you my favorite one. I customized this 1/4 scale NECA Jungle Hunter, complete repainted aiming for accuracy to the original suit while trying to hide the joints. I replaced the plastic netting with higher-quality nylon netting thatās better scaled (not perfect, but I like it), and made a diorama base heavily inspired by the Prime 1 1/3 scale statue.
The masked head is the OG one (non-LED); I tried to close the gap in the visor (without much success) and added a thin layer of translucent resin to make a mirror-like effect. Iām so happy with the result that itās now my favorite piece, hope you guys like it.
I almost forgot... one of the most important and significant things for me when creating this custom was the poseāspecifically, the exact pose NECA used for the prototype shown at Toy Fair 2010, which was later used for promotional images. When this figure was announced, I was a kid fascinated by the Yautja; I didn't have the money to buy anything related to them, so I just watch NECA's photos online, hoping someday I might own something like this.

Season Six Normal Again Inconsistency?
Iām doing a rewatch right now and thereās a scene where Spike is in the doorway of Buffyās room and seems like he tries to take a step forward but canāt go in because of the invisible barrier.
Iām not sure if it just appeared this way because of Jamesā movements or if this was the intention. If this was intentional, since when do vamps need a separate invite for bedrooms? Did anyone else see this?
