Freaking out

I just noticed this mark on my back and already have an appointment scheduled for an exam… just curious if anyone else has had anything like this and what the outcome was? I couldn’t tell ya how long I’ve had it but just really caught my attention the other day and doesn’t really seem to match up with pictures of more serious conditions that I’ve seen online.

Do any ERs have ENT equipment/personel?

I am not looking for medical advice nor reassurance.

The doctors I've seen have given me a treatment plan and advice for what to watch out for. But I'm curious -

I had an accident where some small wood shrapnel possibly went up into my nose (think like chainsaw sized 'dust' - small but big enough to actually hurt if it hits your face) and none of my local ERs can see past some superficial parts of my nostril and ENT offices are booking for like 6-10 weeks out.

This seems like an odd thing to me for if my case were some sort of actual emergency (or thing that's better to take care of sooner than later), what would be the course of action? It seems odd an ER wouldn't be able to help me?

Why are my eyes his

I know I probably should be posting this on Reddit, but my eyes have been looking yellow, and my GP has confirmed that it isn’t jaundice.

For some reason, I’ve also been experiencing mild pain around my eyes. I figured I might just need more sleep, so I’ve been consistently getting around 9 hours a night, sometimes 5–6 (depending on the day).

The yellowing seems to be concentrated around my eyes, and it’s starting to affect my mental state, too. My bilirubin levels came back normal in blood tests, and my GP says nothing seems out of the ordinary. I don’t think it’s due to excessive screen time either, as I go on morning runs and regularly hit the gym.

Has anyone experienced anything similar, or have any idea what might be causing this?

I admit that, in the past, my health wasn’t the best, including a porn addiction but even then, the whites of my eyes were completely white.

Any advice would be grateful. If the picture is unclear please inform me.

Too much of an improvement while on prednisone.

Hey all!

I will try to keep this as brief as possible.

During my first Crohn's flare, I was given an 8 week tapered dose of pred (from 40mg, down by 5).

I am aware that prednisone is a corticosteroid, and all the possible side effects that come with it.
After the first 3 days, I had an immense cognitive improvement, coordination, memory, mood... in addition to finally sleeping 7-8 hours in a single stretch, and having "unlimited" energy for simple but boring everydays tasks, which I usually just postponed until I realistically could.

My question is, what could be the explanation behind that much of an improvement?
My current GI team simply refuses to believe me when I tell them that the combination of sleeping, waking up actually refreshed, and having the pred apetite (I lost 30kg in 2 months during the first flare) allowed all the other aspects to simply fall into place.

I checked adrenal glands, results came back well within the normal ranges.

I'm currently switching GI's, and looking for a second opinion from a psych, endo and gastro MDs.
I am not looking for a solution, just for a direction in which to search deeper.

I want to live life on that functioning level that I was on pred, not this miserable, always-exhausted and brain fogged me.

Thank you all for reading this, and for your feedback.

What is this skin on my toe?

Okay, I’ve started walking again now that it’s getting cooler out. I’d say I’ve been back to it for about a month. In the beginning, I got this blister at the top of my toe, but it’s now turned into this weird hard white skin. What is this? A callous?? I have never had one so I don’t know. I also don’t get pedicures done, I do my own nails so I know it’s not anything from that. Please let me know what it is and what I can do to get rid of it.

How much xray/ct is too much?

I had 1 xray and they found that there was a lung cavity that had pus. Pulmo requested a CT to confirm and after the bronchoscopy I was xrayed again. This happened in the span of 1 week. So that was 2 xray and 1 CT in May

Then I had an xray last week (this is a dental xray though)

However, the pulmo also suggested that I come back with a CT scan in December but I also need another xray for an on the job training for school that will probably be needed in november or December.

summary:

May - 2 lung Xray 1 CT

October - 1 dental xray

December - need to get a CT for follow up and Xray for OJT

Will I be fine if I undergo CT and xray?

Mole removal NSFW

Post image
1 Upvotes

I had a mole removed for the 2nd time 8 days ago (10/6/26). The dermatologist shaved and cauterized it. Ive been keeping it moist with petroleum jelly and a bandaid on top as instructed. I can still see blood thru the bandaids every day with a small amount of yellowish goopies and its still an open wound. I can't tell if what I'm looking at is normal or if I should reach out to my Dr.

Wound is on the mons pubis, about the size of a nickel
