Meta faq, wiki, trolls and you.

1.0k Upvotes

one of the most requested features i've seen is a frequently asked questions section, and we've always had one. it's within the wiki tab located at the top menu if you're browsing on desktop. here's the direct link to it, but since it's a wiki feel free to check out the other sections and please contribute.

with that out of the way, a couple things i want to clear up in case anyone is wondering:

  • i do not mind repeated questions. the whole point of this subreddit is to talk to people. if it's not entertaining you anymore, maybe browse it less. no, i will not sticky every other psa post.
  • i do utilize automod extensively and it helps with a lot of troll post removal behind the scene. so if you see a troll post, continue to downvote, report, and move on, and do not engage. the majority of you get this, and it's been working out quite well.
  • the rules haven't changed, but make sure you're aware of them.

have fun.

18M got my dick sucked for the first time

Just a quick story to share: I'm an 18 year old guy who recently moved to uni. I've been on Grindr hoping to find people to hook up with, and a 24 year old exchange student messaged me saying he was at my uni, and that he likes sucking.

His English wasn't very good, but he said he wanted to suck me. It started yesterday, at first I invited him to my dorm, but he was far away and had to stay for a lecture. Once he was done I was busy, so we made a plan to do it today.

I messaged him again to ask if we can meet, and he asked me to come to his lecture building, and said we could do it in the toilet stall. I was a bit hesitant as I was worried someone would see us going in together, but he said he would go in first to check there's nobody there, and then message me when I can come in.

So I was convinced, showed up to the building, he let me in, and when there was nobody there, told me to come in. I went into the stall with him, pulled my pants down, and we got straight into it. I wasn't super hard at first, so he rubbed my nipples and began slowly sucking it. After a few seconds it was hard, and he could do it properly.

Just as he started, we heard the main door open. I wanted to groan so badly but I was luckily able to hold it in so the person next door wouldn't suspect anything. He switched between gently licking the tip to fully sucking the whole thing. The whole time we were communicating with hand gestures and messages to not make any sound. After about 6 minutes I busted in his hands, and he licked it off. It was the combination of him sucking quicker and using his hands that got me.

We then waited about a minute longer for the person to leave, and thankfully nobody caught us and we left. We barely spoke but it was amazing, and we've made plans to do it again tomorrow :)

My barber is the last person in my life who thinks I'm straight and it's getting ridiculous

I've been going to the same barber for almost seven years.

He's a good dude. Remembers my job, asks about my parents, always gets my haircut right. We talk about football, work, whatever.

The problem is that he thinks I'm straight.

When I first started going there I wasn't out yet. He asked if I had a girlfriend, I said no, and that was that.

Over the years he'd occasionally ask if I was seeing anyone. I'd say things like "Yeah, I've been dating someone" or "We went away for the weekend."

Somehow he always filled in the blanks with a woman, and I never corrected him.

I'm 30 now. I've been out to my family for years. My friends know. My coworkers know. I've been living with my boyfriend for almost three years.

But every four weeks I sit in this chair and temporarily become the straightest man alive.

Last month he asked if I'd thought about getting married. I said probably someday. He started giving me advice about proposing to a woman.

I just nodded along while a man who has never met my actual partner explained how important it is to make sure "she" feels special.

The stupidest part is that I don't even think he'd react badly. He's never said anything homophobic. He's actually a pretty decent guy.

It's just that after seven years, casually saying "Oh, by the way, the person I've been talking about this whole time is a dude" somehow feels more awkward than coming out to my own father did.

And obviously I could just get another barber, but finding someone who doesn't fuck up my hairline is harder than finding a boyfriend apparently.

Anyone else have some random person in their life who still thinks they're straight because correcting them became more awkward with every passing year?

Is this a big deal with my fuck bud?

I am bi but it is gay related.

Im 24. I have a fuck bud, 29, who has been going through a hard time. Last night, I asked if he wanted to stay the night. I do have a daughter.

She ran into my room this morning. She never does it. She asked who is he. I said Dads friend. She said okay.

I got up to make her porridge because when she is up she is up.

He eventually came up when I was about to slice the banana into her porridge and she said I want him (my fuck bud) to do it. I said he cant. She went into a tantrum and he did do it for a quiet life and he was very nice to her. Very friendly.

I feel it goes against the fuckbud arrangement and I am just in my head that I introduced him into something he did not sign up for. Am I overreacting. How would you feel if you were him.

Advice Met a guy a guy I REALLY like, but he’s only into pnp

• Upvotes

I met a guy I really like, find attractive, great personality and tons of great characteristics. And It’s been so long since I felt this way about anyone.

But he recently told me he’s only into chem sex and 2-3 day crazy times etc. Says he’s working on it but that’s the current reality. I’m sad and feel lost on what to do…we are older mid age. I love fun but that might be too much for me. Do guys ever get over having sex that way?…seems like a hard thing to always be doing and/or even compete with to make him happy in bed?

Has anyone had a gay experience with their barber?

Last time I went to get a haircut the barber pressed his dick onto my arm. He was trying to get close for some finally touch ups, but I didn’t move my arm because I didn’t want him to feel uncomfortable LOL. Anyone experience this?

Why is being gay so isolating? Even in a mega gay city like Madrid

Im tired.

Im tired of the lack of interest from guys on any level other then sex. And the expectation for the community for me to act that way. I’m tired of showing guys I care, to only be ghosted. I’m tired of people thinking I’m a whore for my appearance or that I try to find connection. This might mean engaging in the same stuff they do, casual sex, which I acknowledge is me doing what society and others expect of me. I see friends more attracted to guys who play with them then guys who care for them. I get told not to have Grindr because I shouldn’t need it (cause of my looks) meanwhile I have no guys showing me genuine interest. I don’t even know if what I’m doing anymore is my own fault or not. I just know I’m tired of feeling so alone that I need to resort to casual sex to fill that void.

My boyfriend [45M] invited his new single friend [~30M] on my birthday trip, but tells me my "jealousy" is ruining our relationship. Need a reality check.

My boyfriend [45M] and I [25M] have been together for 10 months and live in together. Recently, he made a new friend who is a single gay guy [30M]. At first, I didn't think much of it, but my boyfriend's behavior around this guy has started setting off major alarm bells. I admit that I have let my anxiety get the better of me. I haven't been obsessing over the guy himself, but I have been repeatedly expressing my fear to my boyfriend that he is going to cheat on me.

The Red Flags:

  • He avoids opening messages from this guy when I'm sitting next to him. He deliberately waits to open and reply to them until I am asleep or when he is isolated in his home office working.
  • We are going to Amsterdam for my birthday with my best friends. My boyfriend completely crossed a line and invited this new guy to come with us. When I said "WTF?", his excuse was that the guy has no friends here, and he just asked to be polite, knowing the guy would reject the invite (which he did).
  • Before the Amsterdam thing, my boyfriend randomly showed me texts where he told the guy "I love my boyfriend so much and don't want to ruin things." The guy replied saying he has his morals. At the time I thought it was sweet, but now it feels like a calculated move to pacify me so he could keep pushing boundaries.
  • Now, he is actively pushing me to go out with him, this new guy, and the guy's friends to museums and then out on the town. It feels like he is trying to force us into group settings to legitimize their connection, knowing that if I refuse or act uncomfortable, he can just point the finger at my jealousy.

My boyfriend is a massive people pleaser. When I express my fear that he might cheat, he completely flips it on me. He says I am the one ruining things with my jealousy, and actually told me he hopes I "embarrass myself enough times trying to find something that does not exist because I'll find nothing - and that way I'll learn to trust him."

At the exact same time, he is aggressively love bombing me. He talks about moving to another city together, buying a car together, tells me he wants me forever, and is constantly kissing and hugging me.

My Dilemma: I know my anxiety about him cheating has been an issue, which I am trying to stop. But I feel like he is using my fear to gaslight me and deflect from his own highly inappropriate boundaries.

How do I navigate this dynamic without just playing the role of the jealous boyfriend? Has anyone dealt with a partner who does shady things but covers it up with intense affection and shifting the blame?

A question from a straight guy

As a straight guy (ok, more like bicurious) is it worth it to find a guy in order to experience some really, really good head in a safe and mutually respectful encounter? After all, you only live once!

My husband said he was gay and then back pedaled

• Upvotes

Hi, I’m a 30 female my husband 37 male and I had gotten into an argument were it resulted in us stating divorce was the solution. I know he is bisexual and I’m fine with that, he left after our discussion and later texted me he thinks he might be more gay than bi. The next day he said he didn’t mean it and he wants to repair our relationship and move forward. I can’t help but think he is just suppressing his true desires for my comfort. I’m not sure where to go from here. I’m not even really sure what my question is. I love my husband very much but I want him to live a fulfilled life. We have 2 children. Have been together almost 10 years. A part of me thinks he is here because he feels he should be. Not because he wants to be. When I asked him this he said he is were he wants to be with whom he wants. He does have a past history of cheating with men, I can’t help but think I’m helping feed his denial.

Sitting on my date’s couch right now while he showers because I just saw his "Pros and Cons" list about me?

Before anyone comes for my throat, I swear on my life I wasn't snooping. We’ve been seeing each other for about two months and everything felt really sweet and normal. I stayed over at his place last night. Twenty minutes ago he hopped in the shower and left his iPad unlocked on teh coffee table right in front of me with the Notes app wide open.

The title of the note was literally just my first name followed by "Pros & Cons". My eyes caught it before my brain could stop me.

Under Pros he wrote: "Makes amazing breakfast, very affectionate, great laugh, reliable." But under Cons he wrote: "Drives a beat-up 2012 Honda Civic, sneezes way too loud, calves are kinda small, talks about his dog too much."

i am currently sitting here frozen listening to the shower run. I dont even know whether to burst out laughing or pack my duffel bag and climb out his living room window. On one hand it’s kinda hilarious that he’s this neurotic, but on the other hand it feels insane to date someone who is literally auditing my personality and leg muscles on an iPad. Do I confront him when he walks out with a towel or do I just pretend I’m blind?

Is it normal to feel jealous of how easily straight people date?

I feel kinda shitty admitting this, but lately I've been getting jealous of my straight friends and how easy dating seems for them. Not saying they don't have problems, obviously they do, but at least they have actual options.

One of my friends broke up with his girlfriend about a month ago and he's already been on like 5 dates. Another one met a girl at the gym and they're seeing each other now. Meanwhile I've been on Grindr and Tinder for what feels like forever, talking to the same 20 guys who either want to hook up immediately or disappear after two conversations. And before anyone says it, yes, I do go out and meet people outside of apps. It's just not that simple when you can't even tell if a guy is gay half the time.

The worst part is listening to my straight friends complain about having too many matches or not knowing which girl to ask out. I know they're not trying to be annoying but jesus christ, I'd love to have that problem for once.

I'm 26 and I've only had one serious relationship. Sometimes I wonder if I'm just doing somthing wrong or if dating as a gay guy really is this frustrating for everyone.

Does anyone else get jealous of straight people sometimes? I feel like an asshole even asking.

Advice He was cheating the whole time

Found out my partner of over a year was cheating on me with multiple different guys, consistently, from the very start.

It feels surreal, the level of lies he had to have kept up makes me genuinely sick.

It’s really shattered my perception of trust.
I feel stupid, naive and really, deeply, disappointed.

I kicked him out my house, he texted me saying he didn’t feel enough for me (as an explanation as to why) & still loved me & our relationship means/ meant everything to him… I told him I thought he was disgusting and have blocked him.

I’ve been through break ups before, I know with time it gets better, but any advice from people who have experienced such betrayal would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Advice Boyfriend won’t have sex when others are home

My bf and I have been dating for over a year. We’re both in our early 20s and he lives with his bestie in an apt and I live with my parents still. We used to be much more spontaneous sexually until we by accidentally embarrassed his roommate as his door crept open when she had to answer the door. Not ideal! Since this moment we have never had sex unless absolutely no one is home. Which is maybe like twice a month? He says he’d rather his bestfriend walk in on us again than my parents despite my room being in a soundproofed basement my parents never touch. Not sure how to overcome this or meet in the middle as it all has to be ideal. I have a high sex drive and I’d like to express it outside of just my hand sometimes. (Before you suggest to open up the relationship, that’s a no go. We are monogamous)

Boring update

I went over to his house before school. His mum was leaving for work when I came so she let me in. I just asked him why he was being such a prick all along. He did not want to talk about it.

He eventually said he did not want whispers and gossip from the class/school if he sat next to a guy or walked beside a guy. He said hanging around with girls stopped people gossiping.

I didn't sit next to him at school because of what he had said.

My gf sat next to me for a few classes. She said her friends and he were chatting and they asked him what guy he had a crush on. Apparently, he said he had a crush on me. She said she stuck up for me. She called him a predator because he hung out with me, sleepovers etc without me knowing he had a crush.

I went back to his house after school and I just said I am straight straight but I do not really care about the crush thing and I do not really care if people gossip because we sit next to each other. He did admit he had a crush on me.

We did play a few games and I went home. I said sit next to me in school tomorrow. No idea if he will sit next to me in school tomorrow. Up to him. But I did like playing EA FC with him

Thanks for the advice and for encouraging me.
