Do women only want a finished product?

I’m in my early 20s. I’m still in school, taking most of the money I make and investing it and working towards a career. I can’t afford to take girls out onto really nice places without hurting my future self. I can’t afford to live on my own yet. I can’t afford a mortgage yet. I don’t have the financial means to support kids yet.

I really want a relationship with a woman I’m attracted to. I don’t want to spend my whole life waiting until I reached a point financially to feel worthy of dating. I don’t want to live a lie where I buy nice things to flash to other people while ruining my finances for future on.

Do most women require men to be fully settled in life before she even considers him an option she wants to be in a relationship with and someday have a family with?

Going back to school for a teaching degree at 23

I graduated with a bachelor’s in health administration last spring. I changed my major a lot, mostly out of fear of not making enough money. I started in education. I was a para 15 hours a week at an elementary school, worked in a daycare and I know I would love being a teacher. Instead of perusing teaching, I listened to family members who strongly advised me to go into a health field. I’m about four months into a remote/occasional travel job(assistant management position for a medical equipment supplier) and I absolutely hate it. The last 2 years of school I knew I would hate it. I want to go back to school to be a teacher, but I’m facing the same backlash from family. It’s really frustrating because I feel like I did the thing and I’m being ungrateful for landing a decent paying job quickly. A teaching degree will only take me 3 regular semester + 1 summer semester and I don’t have any student debt. I live with my parents and pay rent and do my share, but they keep guilt tripping me by saying things like “we just didn’t want you to end up like us” and “you spent so long getting to this point, it’s too late to change it”. I cannot imagine living like this the rest of my life.

Has anyone witnessed someone who was "possessed" or went through an exorcism? Whats your story?

I recently watched Obsession and started thinking about demonic possession. The belief exists across several religions and cultures, including Islam and Christianity.

What do you think? Is possession genuinely supernatural, or can it be explained psychologically? Are there any credible cases that make you question either side?

Returning property

Was wondering if the police is able to help me in returning an old dates property he left in my car, I don’t feel comfortable doing it by myself anymore and just would love some protection. Does anyone know what can be done about this?

Edit: Hey guys i’ve never dealt with any of this before, yes he is asking for it, and it’s a firearm. I literally went on 2 dates with him, he left it in the car because his car broke down on our date and he then took an uber to go home and i said to take it but he said he’ll take it back once he sees me again which was when he got upset with me cause i couldn’t go on a date that day. So… yes i know this is a dumb situation but ive literally don’t know what to do Ive thought about maybe asking the police to just take it and he can then deal with that but im not sure…

What have you learned?

Even though I'm 52, I am still learning new things. For example, using witch hazel on my armpits kills all germs and eliminates smell. What have you learned that you think would help others? It may seem like common knowledge to you, but I can guarantee lots of others don't know.

AITAH? My boyfriend gives me the silent treatment whenever I drink.

Hi everyone, I’m 19 (F) and my boyfriend is 33 (M). Please don’t mention the age gap, but I moved in with him 11 months ago. He has a 10-year-old son who lives with us. Whenever I want to drink, my boyfriend makes it a problem. He grew up with an abusive father who was also an alcoholic. I asked him why he doesn’t like me getting drunk, and he said it’s because of how I act when I’m drunk. However, when I’m drunk, I don’t bother him. He says he doesn’t want his son to be in a household where alcohol is present, but yet he continues to purchase it. Most of the time, his son doesn’t even know I’m drunk because I don’t bother him when I’m intoxicated. I know how his dad is and how he tries to make a problem out of everything I do when I’m drunk. I try my best not to bother him because I know how much he dislikes people who get drunk. I don’t try to annoy him or anything, so yesterday when I was tipsy, I told him I was going to dance on my pole. Once I said that, his demeanor changed, and he gave me the silent treatment for almost the whole night. He buys me liquor, but then whenever I’m drunk, he complains and says he’ll never get it for me again. However, I genuinely don’t do anything to this man or his child. I’m very responsible when I’m drunk. I just feel like whenever I want to have fun and let loose, he always has a problem. I’m so tired of having to worry if he’s mad while I’m drinking. I don’t drink heavily. I only drink about twice a month, but whenever I do, he just has an attitude and threatens to break up with me.

Évidemment il me l’a jamais dit à moi.

I went to ihop the other day. Haven't been out to ihop in quite some time. For context i used to work at Dennys 25 years ago. We had the etiquette when giving the check. It was covered and you passed it to the man or put it in the middle of the table as to not embarrass whoever was to pay. Also, while giving drinks even if just 1 you brought it on a tray. Never grab the glass from the top where lips touch.

Back to ihop. The waitress held my glass by the top and slammed it on the table at the edge away from me. When the check came she brought a computer gadget and openly voiced the total of our check at our table for all to hear. We paid her at the table directly. I was shocked and I asked her if this was normal. She said yes. I gave her a few thoughts to consider because to me this was very rude and unprofessional not to say ihop is a high class place but it put a bad taste in my mouth.

Im 44. Am I just not with the times or what??? I dont like the way this world is turning. People are so disconnected and no hospitality or respect. Its disappearing quickly.

My friend wrote this as a pilot for a book he is writing, my philosophy knowledge is terrible, what should I tell him?

This is his short synopsis of the human psyche (his words) I can't tell if I think he's onto something or he's lost the plot, im too dumb to understand what hes trying to say anyways.

His passage:

To escape everything is not freedom, it is surrender to weakness, it is surrender the empty whims of human desire. Feigning voices of what is real scream for man, yet it is man who must resist, true freedom is freedom from yourself.

A hopeless soul is governed by the information it is fed. Like a pig a human mind will consume whatever it is given, praise will manifest confidence, and upon insult it will derive insecurity. Is there truly such thing as a dream? or is there a whim borne of emotion, carved by a path set for you by the words of another. What is curious is that words can hold power despite their wielder. When a man of high status, revered by all, is given praise for his work (even is the praise comes from one beneath him) it still conjures a response of pleasure. This praise need not come from someone beneath you, even when words of encouragement are offered from one unacquainted with your craft, take a baker to a scientist, paise can still in both manifest happiness. This is not an issue or problem with the human mind, and there is no problem with joy, the question I posit is that man is never free, so long as he cares about anyone else.

Why do you continue to work, is it for your own enjoyment, or for the acclaim it may bring if you succeed, or even for money alone. All of these quests are quests borne of slavery. You are a slave to money and a slave to praise. You may ask why I have included personal enjoyment in these quests of a slave, and further you may question why I have rambled a paragraph about words spoken from man to man. I posit that unless your work is an all encompassing drive for complete knowledge, physical or mental, it is not truly what you enjoy.

Man must have meaning, we see it in God. What is God but validation of our own self importance, we gaze up into an infinite universe and what do we ask? Our only question should ever be of how we can enjoy this, enjoy the impossibly rare and unfathomably beautiful gift that is life. But instead we don’t ask this, we ask for a reason, as though one is owed, what selfish scum places their own inconsequential life as central to the universe. Man. I do not mean to suggest that a nihilist approach should be taken, but I do want to reenforce that there doesn’t have to be meaning. Ask yourself, why must there be a reason, why can there just be. How does this lead into personal joy being slavery? Ask yourself another question: why do I enjoy this. Let it be science, English, philosophy, maths, every human has a dream. What you must further question is how in an infinite universe, our curiosity can be so limited. This is where the slavery begins to evolve, no human has one dream, we are all born as God, God is not an eternal validator. God is you. God is unlimited human curiosity. The idea of one dream is not created from a love of a subject, it is created from reenforced praise, praise that shaped your own perception of what it is that you enjoy, what you are good at. You are only free, when you decide to become God.
