13 (Season 13) Am I the only one who’s noticed this? Spoiler

• Upvotes

Why is EVERY single scene SO. DAMN. LONG?!

We had the episode of two nobodies talking for 25 minutes. Then the Fiona and Cordelia episode consisted of about 2 or 3 scenes total, always in one location. Then tonight, the first episode had 17 minutes of one scene, followed by another. The next episode consisted of 2 or 3 scenes total. And most of the episodes had scenes of people talking that go on for 10-15 minutes! It almost feels like shows that were made during Covid that had to have just a few characters in one location.

HOW is it this bad?! How can 24 minute episodes feel THIS long and dragged out?! It’s so static. There’s no movement. NOTHING changes, NOTHING progresses!

And while we’re on the subject, why do the writers seem to think that Fiona’s “thing” is listing southern geography every 2 minutes?!

This is jaw-dropping in how awful it is. It HAS to have been written by AI.

Is it just me?!

13 (Season 13) Why is this season afraid to go outside?

• Upvotes

i don't think we've ever seen the witches outside of the academy this season, or constance outside of the hotel. honestly they're just going back and forth between the academy and the hotel atm. if you told me this season was filmed during the pandemic, i would have believed you. obviously we've got bigger fish to fry, but it's just something that became more and more apparent as the episodes go by. during episode 10, fiona and marie talked about taking a stroll outside and i thought, finally, we'll get to see them walk around new orleans again, but no we didn't see them go anywhere after.

13 (Season 13) I'm just going to say 1 thing about the new episodes and whole season 13 Spoiler

The writers need to be fired, thrown in jail, or burned at the stake like Myrtle Snow.

I had never seen such a downgrade in quality in anything. ever.

13 (Season 13) Constance reveal from episode 13x09 Spoiler

• Upvotes

So... about Satan revealing that he's Constance's father... I'm thinking it might have happened while he was in his "human form" while trying to live those 100 years on Earth as a human. As in, when he was living as Mr. Nas in the 1950's. I don't think it happened in the same "spiritual" way that Michael Langdon was conceived. Thoughts?

Also, this might be a plot hole, but if he's been living as a human since the late 1920's/early 1930's, how did he possess Sister Mary Eunice in Asylum? "Living as a human" I took to mean "without any powers." Of course, being the Devil he could just be cheating and is obviously using his powers now in the present day anyway (even though he's probably not supposed to?) Either that, or it's a plot hole lol.

EDIT: Added the bit about Asylum/Sister Mary Eunice.

13 (Season 13) episode 9+10 Spoiler

• Upvotes

my god i'm so so tired of ben. i've never cared about a character less. episode 9 had me genuinely struggling to stay awake because i was so bored. and wdym constance is the devil's daughter 😭 like oh! right right... okay. idk where the hell that came from no pun intended. but okay.

episode 10 was better, loved the scenes with marie laveau. new actor of papa legba is doing a great job. happy to see fiona is still here will help them win the final fight. her scenes with marie are the best. i was so happy mallory finally came clean and they all now know shes the next supreme. though i expected more of a reaction tbh but ugh... it was rushed as a lot of important scenes have been because these episodes are too short.

so yeah episode 10 was pretty decent. overall it feels like they're wasting a lottt of time on new characters instead of on the ones we actually care about. hate that. there's too much filler in this short season.

really really hoping the finale is great,
i'm excited but a little sad to see how the story ends for the witches since it will probably be their final appearance in the show.

Asylum (Season 2) Thoughts on Season 2 (Spoilers) Spoiler

• Upvotes

I just finished season 2, and…whew. Pretty much anything that could happen, did happen. It was a whirlwind of an experience. We had Anne Frank that WASNT Anne Frank. Psycho Santa. Devil possession. Ryan Murphy just threw in a bit of everything 😭. Also getting to see the Name Game in its context was very needed, I wasn’t aware of how dark Asylum was. Really good, but I feel like it got kind of hard to follow. I will say though, I feel like Bloodyface was kind of random in the overarching plot.

As for performance? Obviously I loved Sarah Paulson as Lana Winters and Jessica Lange as Sister Jude, but my overall favorite was Lily Rabe as Sister Mary Eunice, the way she could go from the terrifying, possessed nun to the real, scared Sister Mary at the drop of a hat was absolutely incredible, and I really enjoyed Evan Peters as Kit too.

I will say though, I’m still confused on what the roles of those alien things were. And with Grace, Alma, and Kit, when they raised their kids together…what was their relationship? was it a polycule like thing?

Let me know your thoughts!

13 (Season 13) Can we show this season a little love too? ❤️ Spoiler

I’ve been seeing a lot of posts expressing disappointment or outright hate for this season, and honestly, I get it. So far, it could’ve been a LOT better in many ways. There are definitely things that could’ve been handled differently.

But with all that said, I’m curious: what are you actually enjoying about this season so far? What are some moments, storylines, characters, or little details that have worked for you?

I mean, we’re all here because we love this franchise, right? That’s probably why we’re so passionate and reactive when things don’t live up to our expectations. But we’ve waited so long for this, and I think it’s okay to acknowledge the flaws while still appreciating the things that are working.

Not every season has to be perfect for us to find something worth loving about it. And sometimes, with all the criticism flying around, I think it’d be nice to hear what people are genuinely enjoying, too.

So let’s spread a little positivity! No hate, no fighting, just love. ❤️

Peace out!

So in AHS, Pius XII tried to perform an exorcism with Sister Pascalina, but failed, and he caught an illness. That is why Sister Pascalina did a lot of things instead of the Pope... Interesting

American Horror Story Why is AHS so bad now?

It baffles me how bad the franchise is now. And I can’t put my finger on why exactly it’s so bad.
Maybe because it’s leaning too heavily on the success of prior seasons? Is it the writing? It’s also less atmospheric.

13 (Season 13) Ep 9-10 season 13: we're actually getting somewhere but is it too late?? Spoiler

I'm actually pretty exhausted when it comes to this season. It's not even because of the 2 eps that aired today I thought they were ok, it's just. I feel like they could have done so much more with this season and it being this late into the season, only 3 eps late there's not much left to wonder why it took this long for us to finally get a full understanding as to what is happening. It's like 1-6 was this fever dream of things happening, u wouldn't really understand it until the last few eps. I always been so positive about this season and base off of my posts I made in the past I do have understanding of what they are doing, I don't think it's as bad of a season as everyone on reddit and other sites would say, but it could have been so much more.

The eps being so short, the plot moving so slow yet being all over the place, it's like this season was made with 8 to 7 eps in mind. I don't think anyone would feel the way they do about this season if it was given it's original eps, instead of them cutting these eps into pieces to make it 13.

Now on to 9-10:

9: the ben, constance, devil stuff have been the worst part of this season, but I think this eps was the best involving the 3 because it actually explained everything that was going on. I feel like they should have gave us this explanation early on. Ep.5 could have really used this much plot focus instead of whatever the fuck that ep was. The whole thing with constance was good, but oh my Lord why the fuck did they cast this dude as the devil. I haven't seen this level of bad acting in american horror story since double feature dead valley. Even that wasn't as bad as this dude acting. Having him act side by side with Jessica lange who have to try and carry this dude through a scene because he can't act for shit is crazy. U can tell Ryan put him in that role because of his looks, the ben actor ain't doing that much better but least I can deal with it, this dude wow. The big twist of the devil being constance father can either be really dumb as fuck or really dumb as fuck. I don't have much hope they are going to do this right whatsoever, but I would love to be wrong, god I hope I am.

Ep.10:

Another plot focus ep. I will admit I do like how this ep was wrapped up. They wrapped up everything from apocalypse very nicely in this episode.

Papa legba remembering the events from apocalypse, mallory remembering but not telling although I would have preferred if she got slapped for that because madison did something similar in apocalypse and she got the taste knocked out or her. This was a pretty ok ep thats leading us into the next battle.

I don't think I need to answer any questions for this because if u don't know even after these 2 eps then just drop the show.

9: 7.0

  1. 7.3

13 (Season 13) Im struggling to even hate watch at this point Spoiler

Like always with Ryan Murphy. Great idea. Terrible execution.

You could really have such an amazing season.

Have Satan scout souls to build an Army against the witches.

Kai, twisty, Tate, etc. vs the witches.

Instead we have sponge baths and monologues about how Constance isn't homphobic when that's the whole point of her character. Oh well.

Personally I wouldve loved to see Sally come back as the main threat.

She "summoned" the addiction demon in hotel and I seriously think there was so much potential there. A cool flashback scene how she did it.

She also hated how she was trapped in the hotel and wanted to escape. She also just discovered social media and that would be a cue to want to see the outside world for herself even more.

I wouldve had her keep playing with "magic" and "summoning"

Eventually summoning a demon that eats souls in exchange of power or an audience to something powerful like Satan. And each location she goes to she tries to summon a new demon for her cause.

She learns how to manipulate the rules of ghosts and can now travel whenever she likes to different locations. She can set them free. Make them mortal. Etc.

She goes to murder house and pits the ghosts against one another. Join her cause or the soul eating demon eats them.

She then could start to scour hell/heaven to pull souls out to aide her cause or let them rot. Imagine seeing her rip Constance from the murder house.

I know its very niche but I just loved Sally.

One of my many ideas. Oh well.

Hotel (Season 5) Re watching all seasons

When I heard about AHS 13 I decided to re-watch from the first season. The episodes were a must watch on Wednesday night! I am currently binge watching Hotel (still one of my favs). My plan is watch all seasons before this one. Délicate may be worse the second watch. So far I remember why I was so enamored with AHS.

Jessica and guy from love story opening scene. Is this whole thing green screen? Aside from the scene being POINTLESS they look like they are on an episode of Once Upon A Time. It’s so filtered and blurry it’s insane. The devil cant act. Just terrible.
