Meta Ban on AI and the State of the Subreddit

Hello Aimer fans,

As per a recent discussion on a now-deleted post, I’m hereby banning AI-generated music on this subreddit. I left it up to the community to discuss and the consensus was unanimous.

Posting AI music the first time will not result in a ban, however multiple posts will.

Regarding the subreddit, I’m currently the only active mod. The unfortunate side of this is that I do not hold full permissions as the only other active mod who did left before transferring full permissions. I’ll be working hard in moderating this subreddit until ModSupport can grant me full permissions, where I will then begin searching for one or two other mods who can actively help.

May you all continue to be blessed by Aimer’s voice.

Discussion A recommendation from an Aimer on YouTube changed my world ಥ‿ಥ

Hi everyone!!! So, this is my first post on this subreddit, and I wanted to share how I discovered Aimer's music (the story is actually a little unusual) and how much it has helped me.

(First of all, I don't speak English 100%, so this post will be translated from Spanish xd)

I remember one night in July 2023 when I was listening to music on YouTube. A live performance of Hoshikuzu Venus by Aimer, with spatial audio, appeared in my recommendations. It was uploaded to her official channel, so I clicked on it. The moment I heard her voice and the melody, I fell in love with the song. The only problem was that I didn't know its full title because it wasn't written in romaji.

Time passed, and by around October 2025, I had already listened to a few of her songs, such as Kataomoi and Zankyosanka. Then Spotify notified me that Aimer, whom I already followed there, had released Pastoral. I decided to give her music another chance, and over the following days, I gradually started listening to more of her songs. Honestly, I can't believe I went so long without properly exploring her music.

During all that time, I had been searching for the studio version of Hoshikuzu Venus on YouTube and Spotify, but I couldn't find it because I couldn't properly recognize the Japanese characters in the title. XD After rediscovering Aimer through Pastoral, I finally managed to find the song. You have no idea how happy and relieved I was when I finally found it!

Over the following months, her music saved my life, I was going through a difficult period because of low self-esteem and bullying, and her songs became a refuge that helped me get through those moments.

Today, Aimer is the artist I listen to the most on Spotify, and discovering her music has been one of the best things that has happened to me musically.

I'm really glad I finally found my way back to her music ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ

Discussion Hidden Gems

Just wanted to share some hidden gems that I found. I started following Aimer since 2020 and missed these during my initial run through of all her songs.

First is the Midnight Sun Live version of 7月の翼 (Wings of July). I'm not one to listen to live versions, but this one blew my mind. Especially at 3 minutes, the bridge before the last chorus and also the final chorus, her vocals change in a way that made me fell in love all over again.

Another one is Momento Mori, a collab song with androp (writers of カタオモイ kataomoi). This 9-minute song was written so beautifully and the duet is crazy emotional, especially the final chorus. Even though it's long, it doesn't sound repetitive and it builds up as you listen to it. Some of the collab songs with Galileo Galilei and Shimizu Shota were pretty good too. Please check them out!

What hidden gems have you found that you think people might have missed or is underrated?

Question Aimer- Sing like a stray cat

So I’m a foreigner who tried applying for this through NightOwls and didn’t get through, we tried with different accounts as well, I would really love to attend this as I’m in Japan around this time as well.

There’s another round of pre sales going on in Pia I believe, so is it possible as a non Japanese person to apply from there in some way?? Like I have a friend who lives in Japan so I can use their number for verification or something like it

Question Aimer Sing like a Stray Cat Fanclub Ticket Presale

I'm an overseas fan that signed up to her fanclub with the annual plan, in hopes to get early access to her concert tickets. However, it seems like her fanclub ticket lottery are locked behind a website 'Pia' which needs a JP phone number. Does anyone know what I can do to get past this, or know whether the general sale will have the same issue?

Question Aimer Fan Club - Night Owls

So i'm an overseas fan trying to sign up for her new Night Owls FC.

Created an account and currently on the payment page.

Trying to make payment using a debit card but the notification says that only credit cards are allowed.

Does anyone know if it's strictly for credit cards only (and not debit cards) or is this some restriction where only JP cards work?

Discussion Aimer’s Latest Post Has Me a Bit Worried

So, I just saw Aimer’s latest post, and to be honest, I’m a bit nervous. I feel like she’s been more distant since last year, and seeing that the announcement is about her future makes me even more worried. I really hope tomorrow’s announcement is about a new project or some other positive news.

Discussion Aimer's changing vocal style

Long-time Aimer fan and been following this subreddit for ages - thought it would be interesting to discuss the way her singing voice has changed over the years!

First got into her music with iconic tracks like Brave Shine, Last Stardust and the Daydream album which was filled with powerful and heavy vocals. Aimer's Budokan live in 2017 is probably my fav performance, her voice was literally spine-tingling and the vibrato she produces is unlike anything I've ever heard!

Followed all of her work pretty closely up until around 2022, and now that I'm experiencing her newer songs I can't help but notice the way she's going deeper with her vocals. That husky tone is more prevalent than ever and it gives me chills! For example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bB7FfMXjjAM

Also I feel like Aimer's voice carries even more emotions the older she's getting, it just makes those slow ballads hit even harder: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RkkTDvAAk0Y

Anyway I was wondering what other people think, which style do you prefer? For me both are great, although I love revisiting her older songs they're just so nostalgic! She's such an amazing artist, so thoughtful and poetic in her work, especially once you see the English translations of some of her lyrics!

Image Shout out to Kenji Tamai for being a producer and arranger to nearly every one of Aimers songs

Post image

No one really talks about this guy when he is credited in almost all of her songs as an arranger. It's usually the arranger's job to transform a song into its finished product, adding all of the instruments like the drums, piano, guitar, violin, bass, and other sounds that turns what would otherwise be lyrics, a melody, and chords into the final song your listening to. One of the things that I love about Aimer's music is how well the rest of her track complements her beautiful voice, and lots of credit goes to Kenji Tamai for that.

Discussion Any news on Aimer's 15th birthday? It's almost mid-2026 and there's been no news at all

Still waiting for news about Aimer’s 15th anniversary... it's nearly mid-year and we've got nothing.

Honestly, I’m getting a bit worried. She hasn't made an appearance at all... I wonder what’s going on. In her BeN journal, she mentioned 'hiding from a long-lasting storm.'

Anyone else feeling the same? I really hope she’s doing well and happy

Question Would like some advice on buying Aimer's Dawn Album

As the title says. I'd like some advice buying the Dawn album. I have literally zero experience buying any sort of music. And would appreciate the help.

Found a listing on CDJapan, which after some light diving, I'm told is a reliable site:
CDJapan : DAWN [Regular Edition] Aimer CD Album

Does this look legit?

Thanks in advance!
