Help (GPU) 9070xt is over boosting
This was the clock before my PC crashed. I had this issue a few months back and this is the replacement card I got this week.
I know I can give -ve clocks but even on my old card this was ignored. I have a 3070ti which runs wonderfully on the same pc, that's why I still think it's a GPU/amd software issue.
What can I do?
The above clocks were recorded while playing FH6 no RT.
CPU 13900k
RAM gskill 32gb ram
GPU Xfx quicksilver 9070xt
PSU RM1000X

Tips & Info How I fixed RX 7900 XTX Black Screen Reboots during Driver Install + Windows Update Mismatch (PA-300) - Full Guide
Hey everyone,
I wanted to share a comprehensive solution for a frustrating issue with my setup. If your PC randomly black-screens and reboots right in the middle of the AMD Adrenalin installation, or if Windows Update keeps breaking your driver causing the infamous "PA-300 mismatch error", here is the exact 100% working fix.
My Setup:
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- GPU: Sapphire Nitro+ Vapor-X RX 7900 XTX 24GB
- MOBO: MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi
- RAM: Lexar ARES RGB DDR5 32GB (2x16) 6000 MHz CL30 (SK Hynix Chips)
- PSU: MSI MPG A850G 850W Plus Gold (ATX 3.0)
🛡️ STEP 1: Tri-Layer Windows Update Armor
Before touching any drivers, we must seal Windows 11 on three separate layers to prevent it from downloading generic or corrupted drivers in the background.
- Layer 1 (The Registry Hack): Open
regeditand go to:HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DriverSearching. Change theSearchOrderConfigvalue to0. (This completely blocks Windows Update from touching hardware). - Layer 2 (System Settings): Press
Windows + R, typesysdm.cpl, go to the Hardware tab ➔ Device Installation Settings and select NO. - Layer 3 (DDU Setting): Inside DDU options, make sure the box that explicitly prevents Windows from downloading drivers via Windows Update is checked.
🧹 STEP 2: Surgical DDU Clean (Safe Mode)
To ensure a perfect install, we need a complete tabula rasa since the system files are already mixed up:
- Pre-download the complete "Full Driver" Offline Installer from the AMD website (e.g., version 26.9.2 or later, ~900 MB file) [I].
- Disconnect your Internet cable (or disable Wi-Fi) for total safety.
- Boot into Safe Mode (hold
Shiftwhile clicking Restart). - Open DDU, select GPU ➔ AMD from the dropdown, and click "Clean and Restart". When back into normal Windows (still offline), the corrupted driver fragments will be gone.
🔌 STEP 3: The Power Plan Trick Against Mid-Install Crashes
The Problem: During driver initialization, the 7900 XTX undergoes massive, sudden power state changes. Under standard Windows power plans, this voltage latency triggers aggressive motherboard power protection limits, causing an instant hard reset mid-install.
The Fix:
- Open Windows Power Options (
powercfg.cpl) and activate the hidden "Ultimate Performance" (Prestazioni Eccellenti) plan. This forces the motherboard VRMs to supply steady voltage, eliminating micro-power-saving latencies. - Unplug any unnecessary USB charging cables (like mouse/headset chargers) to lower the 5V rail load on the motherboard.
- Reconnect your Internet (Windows Update is locked now anyway, so it can't interfere).
- Run the 900 MB AMD Installer. Click on Additional Options and do NOT check "Factory Reset". Choose a standard, direct Standard Installation.
- Without AMD's forced mid-way reboot and with voltages locked by the power plan, the installer will finish 100% flawlessly! (You can switch back to the Balanced plan afterward for daily usage).

Help (GPU) Which version of the 9070xt should I buy?
Hello everyone!
I’m planning to build a pc in November and decided to go with the 9070xt for it’s really good price and performance.
I’m not really knowledgeable on this so I decided to go with this card since it was the most affordable:
But I also noticed a lot in the same range price which are OC versions, do they really improve much the performance? I can allow myself to spend 50 to 100 more if it means a better performance.
Thank you for your help!

Help (CPU) Need help with msiafterburner showing 0°c on cpu1
Hi, so I'm using AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D and I've been using MSI Afterburner to monitor my CPU and GPU temperatures and other metrics.
Yesterday, when I checked the CPU temperature for each individual threads, I noticed that the CPU1 was constantly showing 0°C, even though all the other cores (CPU1–CPU16) were reporting normal temperatures of around 30–40°C. The overall CPU temperature was also normal, around 30–40°C.
I have no idea why it is showing 0°c, but if I disable cpu1 from showing on the chart then somehow cpu2 will be the one that shows constant 0°c

Help (Software) How do I stop Windows Update from trying to install old AMD Driver?
Windows 11. For whatever reason, Windows Update wants to install Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. Driver Update (32.0.21030.2001) which looks like a really old AMD Driver. I have a 9070 XT GPU and I'm running the most recent AMD driver. I don't want to overwrite the existing driver with this older driver. I can't shut my PC down or restart it without installing this update.
I've already tried to block these driver updates in regedit. See screenshots.
What do I do? Why is Windows doing this to me? Relevant screenshots attached.

Resolved Do I have Malware?
My CPU Usage is always at 100% on AMD: Adrenaline and Resource Monitor, but not on Task Manager and I can't see what is taking up all the utilization. Do I have a crypto miner on my computer? Windows Defender can't pick anything up.
My drivers are 26.8.1, Windows 26H2, AsRock B650I Lightning Wifi, Ryzen 7800x3D
Solved! I had a custom power plan from a custom script that was messing with the most recent windows update! I changed the power plan and everything is completely fine!

Help (CPU) 9800x3d temps
I know there's a million posts about this but genuinely it feels meaningless going through them because half the answers are people saying it's too high and the other half are people saying it's normal.
My 9800x3d with a Dark Rock Pro 6 which is a top tier air cooler reaches 90c in Cinebench2026 multithread, 80c+ sometimes when loading shaders, idle is 48-50 and during gaming its mostly 60-70 with some games 60-75.
I know it doesn't matter and it can run at 95c 24/7 completely fine and all that but still I would like to get a concrete answer for this

Help (Software) AMD In game replay issues
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: 9070 XT
CPU: 9800X3d
Motherboard: gigabyte gaming X AX
BIOS Version: unsure
RAM: 32gb ddr5
PSU: corsair 850W
Case: NZXT H6
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 11 pro
GPU Drivers: unsure
Chipset Drivers: unsure
Background Applications: DISCORD, CHROME, Adrenalin
Description of Original Problem:
Hi,
I just got a 9070 XT, and i'm having issues with AMD in game replay using AMD Adrenalin software.
Current settings: I have desktop recording set as off (prefer to keep it this way), Overlay is on, instant replay is on, the red indicator is on also.
Issue: Instant replay works fine most of the time (I am playing CS2 in borderless fullscreen). I also have discord overlay running (to see who is on the discord channel in game). The issue is sometimes the overlay glitches in game and the indicator dissapears, and I can no longer save clips in game or use the overlay. I assume it's because AMD is not recognizing CS2 as a game?
I also prefer to keep CS2 in borderless fullscreen, since setting it as fullscreen will break discord overlay.
If i Alt tab a few times it works again.
Does anyone have a solution for this? Thanks!
Troubleshooting: I Tried uninstalling, re-installing, alt tabbing a few times fixes it, tried it full screen it works fine appearently

RX 9070 XT randomly reboots when idle (crashes)
Hi everyone,
I have issues with my computer, since i changed the graphics card from a 3060TI, to an RX9070XT, december last year. So close to a year ago.
The issue, and it happens alot. The computer reboots (crashes with a memory dump), when it's idle and the displays are off (I have 3 monitors).
The specs of the PC:
- CPU: Intel i5-13600K (BIOS updated with the latest microcode fixes – 0x12B/0x12F)
- GPU: ASUS TUF Gaming Radeon RX 9070 XT OC Edition
- RAM: 32GB DDR5 @ 6400 MT/s
- PSU: Seasonic SS-760XP2 (2020, ~6 years old, 760W)
- OS: Windows 11 24H2 (build 26100)
- Driver: Latest Adrenalin (multiple versions tested)
It never crashes when it's actively being used. So nothing under gaming or any 3d work.
I've used windbg to analyse the crash dump, and then gotten AI to summarize it for me, and it has come up with this:
Crash technical details (WinDbg, !analyze -v on MEMORY.DMP):
INTERNAL_POWER_ERROR (a0)
The power policy manager experienced a fatal error.
Arguments:
Arg1: 0000000000000618, A runtime power worker thread has been blocked for too long.

Interpretation:
Windows' Power Framework (PoFx) dispatches a runtime idle-state transition to the GPU via dxgkrnl!DxgkPowerRuntimeComponentIdleStateCallback. The AMD kernel-mode display driver (amdkmdag.sys) enters the callback and blocks indefinitely – notably with a KeStallExecutionProcessor busy-wait near the top of the stack. The PoFx watchdog detects the blocked work order and triggers bugcheck 0xA0 (subcode 0x618: power worker thread blocked too long), followed by a controlled reboot.
Crashes occur exclusively when transitioning to idle (displays going to sleep) – never under load (games, OCCT, benchmarks all stable). No WHEA errors, no Cache Hierarchy Errors, ruling out the known 13th/14th Gen Raptor Lake degradation signature. Complete MEMORY.DMP written at crash time, ruling out sudden power loss (PSU). Occurs across multiple Adrenalin driver versions (clean DDU installs)
Has anyone else experienced similar with an AMD card ? And potentially found a solution ?
I've tried to disable as much as possible regarding low power states. But nothing seems to help.
I could potentially fix it by just never letting the computer turn off the monitors. But it's oled, so I would very much like to avoid that.
I'm considering RMA'ing the card, but it's a bit of a hassle since i don't have a spare card i can use.

Help (Software) Anyone with an AMD RX 9000-series GPU able to test our Unity WebGPU build?
We’re investigating a repeatable GPU crash in the browser version of Worldmage, our Unity WebGPU 3D map-building tool related to AMD GPUs.
The affected system was:
- Windows 11
- AMD Radeon RX 9070
- AMD driver 26.8.1
- Chrome 155
- 32 GB RAM
Every Worldmage map caused the GPU device to hang during loading:
DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG (0x887A0006)
Windows also recorded LiveKernelEvent 141, suggesting that the D3D12 device/driver stopped responding. We’ve only seen this reported on one machine, so we need to establish whether it affects other RX 9000-series systems or was specific to that configuration.
If you have an RX 9070, 9070 XT, or another RX 9000-series card and don’t mind testing, please save any important work first—the known failure may briefly freeze or reset the graphics driver.
Test link: https://play.worldmage.com/longsword-moondance-aquarius
Please reply with:
- GPU model
- AMD driver version
- Windows version
- Browser and version
- Whether the map loaded successfully
- Any errors shown in the browser’s DevTools Console
- If it crashes, relevant information from
chrome://gpu, particularly Graphics Feature Status, Problems Detected, Driver Information, and Dawn Info
Testing with current drivers would be especially useful, but results from 26.8.1 would also help us compare.
There’s no download or account required—it runs directly in the browser. Thanks to anyone willing to help us narrow this down.
Cheers!

Help (General) System keeps crashing in Planet Zoo 2
Computer Type: Desktop
GPU: Gigabyte AMD Radeon RX 9060XT
CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
Motherboard: Gigabyte B850 Gaming Wifi6
BIOS Version: F12d
RAM: Patriot DIMM DDR5-6000 32GB
PSU: ThermalCare ToughPower 650W Gold Modular
Case: AeroCool
Operating System & Version: WINDOWS 10 Version 22H2 (Build 19045.6466)
GPU Drivers: AMD Adrenaline 26.8.1
Chipset Drivers: AMD Chipset Software 8.08.12.551
Background Applications: Adrenaline Software
Description of Original Problem:
Hey,
i build an PC from ground up around 3 Months ago for the Release of Planet Zoo 2, so i picked components that were suggested in the recommended section and checked some "Ready-Built"-PCs that you can buy and their components. The system was running fine. Used it for gaming for some games like Across the obelisk, Baldurs Gate 3 was i guess the most demanding one from my perspective. Now Planet Zoo 2 was released, and i get greenscreens like after one or two minutes ingame. The sound starts to stutter, but the PC doesnt turn off, the screen is green.
Troubleshooting:
I allready tried these steps:
- Deinstall the AMD drivers with DDU and Installed the latest ones(With and without adrenaline software)
- In Bios/Uefi i tried EXPO 1 / EXPO 2 and the settings disabled, in every setting the game keeps crashing
- In Adrenaline Software the Stresstest over several minutes, no shutdowns there
- The Temperature seems fine, it is around 40°C - 50°C when it shuts down
- In The game Planet Zoo i tried medium Graphic settings, tried to turn off/on VSync
- A Frame Limitation with AMD-Chill in the Adrenaline Software
- A DisplayPort Cable, the screen turns black when it crashes, but it still crashes
- Turned off In-Game Overlays (Steam, Adrenaline)
- I checked the power-cables in the computer
- Eventmanager / Reliability History don't provide information on this matter
- Started the game with -dx11 in command
I am very frustrated, because it always keeps crashing. I am not into the matter, so i have no clue what to do. Maybe it is a hardware problem and i have to send it back to the reseller/manufacturer its only 3 months old)? Is it a software problem? Maybe its only the game Planet Zoo 2? I considered many reddit-posts or other forums over google-search and tried many stuff(listed above) but nothing seems to help. Maybe you have some advice, thank you [Edited Bios version]

Help (General) WHEA-Logger 18 (Cache Hierarchy Error) only in BF6 with RX 9070 XT + 5800X3D on B550. Replaced CPU (x2), PSU and RAM, still crashing. Card or motherboard? Any solution!!
Specs:
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800X3D (tested two different units)
Motherboard: Gigabyte B550 Aorus Elite V2 rev 1.5, BIOS [version]
GPU: [brand] RX 9070 XT, bought mid-August 2026
RAM: 32GB DDR4 (originally G.Skill Ripjaws 3600, now a different replacement kit), running at 3200, XMP off
PSU: [model, wattage] (already replaced once, previous: [model])
OS: Windows [10/11], AMD Adrenalin [version], installed clean with DDU
The problem
Hard reboot with no BSOD. Event Viewer shows WHEA-Logger Event 18, Error Source: Machine Check Exception, Error Type: Cache Hierarchy Error, Processor APIC ID different every time, followed by Kernel-Power 41.
Battlefield 6 reproduces it reliably within 10 minutes.
Apex Legends and CoD: they used to crash too, but have been stable for days since I set LLC to Medium (see below).
Other symptoms: one DEVICE_HUNG driver crash in Apex (fixed after DDU + driver reinstall), monitor occasionally goes black for a second at idle, and a USB controller once showed Code 43.
History: the same motherboard was fully stable with a Ryzen 5 5600X + RX 6700 XT. Problems started after upgrading to the 5800X3D + 9070 XT.
What I've tried
CPU: two different 5800X3D units, same crashes (the first one was sold and works fine for the buyer).
PSU: replaced, no change.
RAM: replaced the kit. MemTest86 passes, XMP off (3200 JEDEC).
BIOS: loaded defaults, PBO off, Core Performance Boost off, Global C-State Control off, PCIe forced to Gen3, SoC voltage 1.10V → 1.148V (no difference), CPU Vcore LLC + SoC LLC set to Medium (helped Apex/CoD, not BF6). Resizable BAR/SAM currently off.
Stress tests: OCCT CPU and OCCT Power (CPU+GPU) for ~25 min with zero errors. Only gaming triggers it.
GPU: reseated many times, clean driver install with DDU. [Separate PCIe power cables / no daisy-chain: yes/no]
[Registry: MPO disabled (OverlayTestMode=5) + TdrDelay=10 / TdrDdiDelay=20: done / not yet]
[FreeSync off: done / not yet]
[Adrenalin power limit -10%: result]
[FPS cap at 60 in BF6: result]
Planned next tests
Moving the GPU to the second (chipset) PCIe slot to rule out the primary slot / CPU lanes.
Clean Windows install on a separate drive.
My questions
Has anyone with a 9070 XT (or 9060 XT) on AM4/B550 seen WHEA 18 that only shows up in BF6?
Since CPU, PSU and RAM are ruled out, does this point more to the card or to the motherboard/PCIe?
Anyone with the B550 Aorus Elite V2 running a 9070 XT stable in BF6? Which BIOS version?
Any fixes I've missed before I send the card in for RMA? I can't easily test it in another PC, and I'd rather not ship it without being sure.
Thanks in advance!

Help (GPU) GPU noob and idk how to fix gpu crashes :( PLS HELP
okay so I know this has been a big issue for people where the gpu's have been crashing like crazy and I know its most likely a windows thing but what can I do to stop it or prevent it?
I can literally just be watching youtube and sometimes my computer just randomly freezes and my gpu crashes. other times when I'm playing PCVR, my game will freeze and then it causes my PC to completely crash and reboot. i currently am on 26.3.1 cause that's been the most stable driver for me.
I also heard that undervolting has helped people a lot with the crashes but I have always stayed clear of tuning any settings other than fan speeds because I have no idea about any of that. could anyone give me any guidance or suggestions on how to do so?
(again complete noob when it comes to this stuff).
