Browser Extension 1Password on Googlebook is a mess
I posted this on r/googlebook, someone suggested posting here too. Edited slightly here for more context. Issues galore:
- By far my top issue: 1Password is not unlocking with biometrics. Typing the long password every time l pain. Affects the desktop (Android) app and the Chrome browser extension.
- Of note, the 1Password app shows a "That didn't work" message on the login screen when launched.
- This HP Googlebook has both facial recognition and a fingerprint reader. I’d be happy to unlock with either.
- 1Password app and Chrome browser extension don't appear to recognize each other or interact. Unlock one and the other doesn't respond.
- Probably a Google issue, but Chrome is not respecting the "Autofill using another service" setting.
- Flow: verify that 1Password is the preferred service in Android settings. Navigate to Autofill Setting in Chrome, select "Autofill using another service" > restart Chrome.
- Result: stays as "Autofill with Google" instead of respecting my change.
- 1Password app keeps asking me for my two factor auth code. I enter it, and it briefly shows a message that it's unable to use it, with a Learn More link that doesn't go anywhere. Not an issue in the browser extension.
FWIW, I'd be happy to uninstall the app and use the browser extension exclusively as long as it would unlock with biometrics.
