Discussion / Question What is the greatest video game ever in your opinion?

• Upvotes

I wouldn't say it's my favorite game ever but I would've loved to play the original Final Fantasy 7 when that came out. Based on how beloved and still talked about the game is im sure it was mind blowing when it first came out. For the Japanese it was basically like Gta 6 coming out, the game was expected to be great but for people in the US it was extremely surprising, I mean could you imagine a Gta 6 level game just coming out of nowhere I would of loved to experience that. The was still amazing when I first played it in 2021

Discussion / Question Video Game Common Sense Auditors

My coworker and I shoot the shit a lot about how our job needs a Common Sense Auditor. That every time there is something that just doesn't make any sense, you can complain to a 3rd party about it and they will review it.

After playing GoW E-Day it got me thinking that there are some issues in the game that should not exist in 2026. That humanity has been making videogames for far too long to still be making these mistakes. Im not here to critique the story or the creative choices. I want to be the guy that calls out the "Did they even think this thru"

  1. Checkpoints BEFORE unskippable cutscenes or walk and talk segments.

  2. If you play as a standard human character and you are surrounded by allied standard human characters. Enemy NPCs should not run past your allies and target you explicitly just because you are the player.

  3. Removing simple, non game changing features from previous games just because "?"

  4. Retconning canon and ignoring all common sense purely because you want a "origin of that random item story"

  5. If the Host is playing on Hard. And random players can join and set their own difficulty to easy. You either need to award the host player for playing on Hard or create a menu toggle that forces players that join onto the same difficulty as host.

This is a blue print after playing Gears Eday for a couple weeks. Do you think something like this could become a hit

Discussion / Question Onimusha: Way of the Sword’s combat should earn game of the year consideration.

Onimusha: Way of the Sword has been a blast to play so far. The combat is challenging but fair. The bosses are intimidating but within reach. The game introduces new mechanics as you progress, making the combat always feel fresh. The rush when hitting the Issin timing is unforgettable!

Discussion / Question What game do you wish had extra lore from books or comics?

I am currently playing Starfield for the first time and, if you haven't played, three way the explain a lot of the story at first is by having you walk through a museum if you sign up to join one of the main factions as a freelancer. Since I have been playing I want even more lore or stories in that universe. what game for you makes you wish that you had more lore in a different form?

Discussion / Question question of the day

What genre of game do you think neither indie nor AAA make anymore but that if someone dares to make it will become very famous precisely because of the lack of it?

I was thinking about this question since I want to be a dev lol

Discussion / Question Why do you find non-AAA games fun?

I dont get how people get interested by games like Saros, Pragmata, Control Resonant, Blood of Daswnwalker, Crimson Desert, Death Stranding etc. People say "oh great story, dialogue, gameplay".

Games like these either have weird unappealing stories and universes or theyre just exploration. Like theres little juice. They feel like movies. Its sad to see people treat games like movies and just get fascinated by the world and story. No constant action like Spiderman, COD, RDR, GTA etc.

The character just looks so dam lazy. Like the devs didn't even try to make a decent design. When this game comes out its going to flop HARD. This will be Concord 2.0 an the end of Naughty Dogs Studios forever.

Discussion / Question What game did you expect to be scary, but just wasn’t?

So I do love me some horror, mostly action horror but I dabble in others now and then. I’ve played quite a lot.

There were times I played some of these where I’m really wanting that terror. I’m playing with headphones in a dark room, in that mindset, butt clenched and ready for the cold sweats to come and have instead found myself going “oh, that’s it?”

What was that game for you? I’ll give 2 examples with 1 that will get me in trouble lol.

  1. Dying light 2, god I wanted to love this. DL1 to me was terrifying, the night mechanic made

    my

  2. butt pucker so tight I’m still crapping slim Jim’s. But DL2 was missing kind of everything that it needed to be spooky

  3. Resident evil 7. Maybe I hyped myself too much, maybe my expectations were too high.. not only did I not enjoy this game very much, I found the family to be… cringey, not scary, borderline goofy.

What are yours? Also I am freshly basted if you want to roast me

TL,DW: In the video Corporations Have Lost All Control by YongYea, the creator discusses how the public is turning the tables on corporations by using Artificial Intelligence to bypass restrictions and challenge traditional business models. Instead of companies solely benefiting from AI, users are now leveraging the technology to reclaim agency over their digital products. Discussion / Question Unpopular opinion: I don't care about game length

Do people seriously think grown ass adults have the time to sit around playing 80 hour video games? The most recent big games I can think of that received this criticism are Mafia: The Old Country and Wolverine. Less length actually means less burnout. I am currently replaying Final Fantasy VII Remake on hard mode and I cannot begin to describe how much of a slog some of these chapters and sidequests are.

Discussion / Question I really hope ‘The God Slayer’ is still being worked on. (Last Airbender inspired.)

The devs dropped an awesome gameplay demo showcasing Last Airbender type fighting controlling the elements and then news of this game vanished like the Avatar himself. This looked to be as close as we’d get to the Avatar game we always wanted.

Discussion / Question San Andreas is Still the most Immersive GTA game to date

Post image
0 Upvotes

Crazy how a game from the early 00s lets you do more with the main characters in story mode than the newer GTA titles. You could eat food, get fat or get skinny or brolic and learn how to fight in different fighting styles. Those basic functions add more immersion and fun to the experience especially the fighting mechanics as minor as they are and if GTA 6 wont allow me to make Lucile the female character brolic like CJ from san andreas just for laughs or go inside every building on the map then i dont see why GTA 6 price is even justified when its a step backwards in immersion and just prettier in graphics.
