Question New comment section location
So I don't know how old this update is (I restarted my PC today) but now on the desktop version the comments are to the right of the video and not below. And vice versa, the suggested videos are below, not on the right.
This looks horrible and I don't want to get used to it. I hate that all apps look the same now, designed for short form and vertical content.
Is there a way to make it look how it did before the update?
Thanks in advance

I feel the same way. They tried this garbage 2 years ago and it was resoundingly rejected. Why don't they ever learn that people don't want this garbage layout?

It's mostly a test they rolled out a week ago. They rolled out a similar update a couple of years ago and it was badly recieved back then. Best thing you can do is leave negative feedback hourly or daily. The more bad feedback, the better.

It happend for me today. I guess they are gradually rolling it out or A/B testing it. Because when I opened a private tab where I was not logged in, it was still the previous UI.

This must have just happened, because I clean my cache/cookies/temporary internet files/etc. every night, and the layout still looks exactly the same to me as of now: comments below the video, recommended to the right.

YouTube has been on a speed-run to make the user experience as terrible as possible.
Removing the ability to scroll down to the comments in full screen was bad enough, then they added the stupid pop-ups that have to be dismissed after you skip an ad on mobile.

this keeps cycling through test groups, some people get it and then it disappears a week later. if youre stuck with it you can try switching your account region settings, that sometimes shuffles you into a different test bucket

Absolute garbage change. Youtube has such a "change-for-the-sake-of-change" problem
