Yorkshire Hebden Bridge Folklore
Hi, does anyone know any Hebden Bridge folklore? Such as witches, cults or ghosts? Or even something else? 😁

News Birth registration appointments now available at Rotherham Best Start Family Hubs
Parents across Rotherham now have the option to register their baby's birth at additional sites in the borough as part of a new initiative aimed at making services more accessible for families.
Birth registration appointments are now available at Best Start Family Hub Swinton and Best Start Family Hub Maltby, alongside the existing service at the Register Office in Riverside House.
The new service, launched by Rotherham Council, offers parents greater choice over where they complete the legal registration process, while also helping them connect with support services available in their local community from the earliest stages of their child's life.
The initiative is the latest example of the work Rotherham Council is doing to ensure children and young people across the borough have the best start in life. Last year, the Council introduced its popular Baby Pack scheme for expectant parents, free universal packs filled with essential items for the first six months of a baby's life.
Families continue to make the most of services at Best Start Family Hubs across the borough, including the Council’s popular 0-5 offer. Over the last year, there were over 26,500 attendances across Baby Offer sessions, Toddler Groups, PEEP and Sensory Groups.
Total attendance across the hubs continues to grow, with over 80,000 visits over the last year, nearly an additional 15,000 attendances on the previous year, demonstrating the growing reach and impact of services for children, young people and families.

Photo / Image Celebrating The Leeds Studios, home of ITV Yorkshire. Built in 1968, this sprawling complex has produced some of the nation's favourite shows. As one of only two ITV regions still based at their original HQ, it survived the threat of closure in 2009 and continues to thrive as the home of Emmerdale

Event is anyone going to the Halloween burlesque show in Halifax?
Hi all, apologies if it doesn't fit here, but is anyone attending the goth burlesque event on the 30th at Grayston Unity? My husband has just decided that he is too intimidated to go, so at the moment I will be sitting in VIP by myself. Figured I'd see if there's anyone else planning to go and if I can say hello if so, it seems terribly lame to go to such a cool event and then lurk in the corner all Johnny-No-Mates style.

Yorkshire Missed connection - Bobbie Macclesfield Hospital
I was visiting Macclesfield hospital on Sunday for a minor injury Just as I arrived I helped pretty woman help me login to the NHS wifi. We made small talk for a few minutes, but both just seemed excited to chat . Before I know it she was called in and to my suprise! Back out, even quicker! As she grabbed her stuff and explained her situation and made her way out, with a mouth full of protein bar I could do nothing but mumble several simple words as I chewed my bar and watch her walk away....
Blonde concussion Bobbie from Yorkshire. If you see this. Sorry we didn't get to exchange details. By some miracle if love to get in touch ✌🏻
Not sure if this sort of post is allowed, thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Opinion Tiger incident Yorkshire wildlife park
I'm sick of people making sh*t up now. The news reports are doing what they do best and dramatising little bits of second hand information.
What's the worst is that people are just making gigantic assumptions and making stories up as they go along.. then spreading them like facts.
I watched a tiktok from the lady who WAS there with the victim, she took his photos, experienced his presence and watched the incident unfold and she tells her experience of him with heavy implications that he was of some neurodiversity and appeared to lack perception of danger. Yet, her factual, real account of the victim isn't plastered all over social media... just fake, dramatised, money making sh*t everywhere.

Yorkshire Wainhouse Tower
If you've ever fancied a trip up to the top of Wainhouse Tower, here's an opportunity. Visit Calderdale have an Open Day, with tickets available on Eventbrite. I did this climb years ago; unfortunately time has not been kind on my old and battered body, so I'm going to pass this time. Weather permitting, the views from the top are certainly impressive and it's not often it's open to the public, but if you're healthy enough to manage the 369 stairs up to the top (and back down again) - and you don't mind heights - it's well worth it for the view.
Please note I'm not affiliated in any way with Visit Calderdale, just thought this might be of interest for folk with an interest in the area.
