Discussion Xbox Mode needs a redesign

Am I the only one who thinks that xbox mode looks absolutely atrocious? especially compared with things like steam OS or even the xbox series ui the pc xbox mode looks like absolute trash. the game icons are tiny and even the game launch page looks bad. most of the screen is just grey. I feel like if they’re planning on using this for future consoles or platforms it needs a redesign before it launches on a mainstream device.

Discussion Why isn’t Zero Parades coming to Xbox?

Post image
0 Upvotes

It originally launched on PS5 and PC, it just now got announced for Switch 2 but still no Xbox. This is disrespectful to Disco Elysium fans on Xbox, devs are willing to launch on PS5 day 1 and Nintendo eventually at some point but avoid Xbox like the plague

Same thing happened to Stellar Blade it’s on everything except Xbox now

Discussion Is there an actual reason why Minecraft isn't Play Anywhere

I just want to start a world on Xbox, and pick it up and continue on PC.

They like, own the game devs. I don't feel this would be too hard. I've bought it multiple times, I just want cross-save functionality.

Am I missing something?

Discussion The Future of Game Pass

With recent rumors about the possible changes to Game pass ... about the possibility of Xbox removing day one release from Game pass ultimate... As well as what seems to be a new popular sentiment among Xbox fans that game pass is bad for Xbox sales and they should remove day one release. I just wanted to say removing "day one" release would be very anti consumer and I don't care if its considered unpopular to say..

Removing arguably the most important part of the game pass, the feature that made it unique, the feature that sold million of people on game pass ... that "all Xbox studio games would release on day one on game pass ultimate"... then removing it because you want to force customers to buy games at full price is terrible no matter how it's framed even if it comes with an decrease in price. It's even worse for customer who decided to invest in this eco system because of that promise or customer who have purchase months or years of game pass subscriptions. I was unhappy with they did it to call of duty .

Game Preview Guitar Hero Series X

Anyone know if any of the Guitar Hero’s are compatible with the Series X? I’ve seen Rock Band does but I’m a Guitar Hero guy. It’s my decompression game after a long day and my brain hurts from Gears, Diablo IV, and a few others.

Discussion Xbox series X Re8 completed

Post image
24 Upvotes

Finally completed the village RE8 story mode on Xbox series X I had a good time playing it on the Xbox series X, but the quality of the headphones aren’t that good as other brands and right now I am trying to complete halo campaign evolved soo far so good . By the way I got multiple consoles and PC. I don’t really like the Home Screen software part & the design. I had an issue with the elite series 2 controller right bumper doesn’t work perfectly. So I had to buy a new elite core white controller.
I bought my Xbox series x in 2022 so I only paid 500 from the Xbox store online. Hopefully the next Xbox has better sound quality, a better software home page that’s unique “ smooth and easy to use” I went from Xbox series x to ps5 just to check it out because I never had one. I just prefer the ps5 Home Screen software and the sound quality is better. I really want to support this generation Xbox but it’s just not that satisfying as the other console overall. I did buy marathon on the Xbox series x . It’s cool , I like it . It’s just very different from what I’m use to .

Discussion Any wireless controllers with better haptics than the stock Xbox controller?

Are there any third-party wireless controllers with better rumble/haptics than the official controller?

Do developers optimize haptics specifically for the official controller, or do third-party controllers get the same feedback?

Discussion Crossplay is better when console mouse players get the same basic options as PC

Quick one for anyone who's ever plugged a mouse into an Xbox.

Mouse acceleration means your cursor or aim moves further the faster you swipe, so the same hand movement lands in different places. Windows and MacOS both let you switch it off. As far as I know, Xbox has no toggle, and in my experience it affects all games.

Why it matters even if you use a controller: Xbox supports mouse and keyboard in plenty of games, including for accessibility. Consistent mouse input matters for players who rely on KBM, so mouse acceleration is worth addressing.

Discussion I want to save for an Xbox Series X

I want to save up for an Xbox Series X, but the price good lord🫢🫢. For context, I wanted to scratch my gaming itch, so I bought an Xbox One to play some old games that I never got to play in my teenage years. And I was looking at the price of an Xbox Series X, thinking how the hell did it get this bad. I live in South Africa, so our currency is not the best, so buying something in dollars to be converted to rands is crazy expensive. So I want to buy next gen, but I definitely will have to wait at least 2 years because man, the price

Review Valor Mortis is a great game

It’s free on gamepass if anybody’s interested, here’s what I’ve taken from this game so far:

- the combat in this game is fun, perfect parries are incredibly satisfying and the swordplay is fast and intense. You can also use magic and other guns to help you kill the undead.

- enemies are extremely unforgiving and intimidating by design, one minute you’re killing regular enemies just to turn the corner and see a giant wielding a massive sword. If you die, you respawn at the last save/rest point, just like dark souls and Elden ring.

- you can upgrade your weapons to deal more damage, but to do that you need to kill a ton of enemies without dying.

- the story didn’t really click with me but it does have a great setting. The harrowing battlefields littered with dead bodies makes it more intense.

Overall I’d give it an 8/10.

Discussion Questions regarding Gamepass

Hey I've been considering getting into pc and console gaming for a while now, and i encounter a major problem as opposed to my expectations

I expected to buy the games and play them as I wish for, as opposed to game pass which looks convenient but has limits on play time.

For those who have a gamepass and those who are experienced or have been in my shoes,

What advice would you give me?

And i don't have a problem buying games themselves, but if I find gamepass to be somewhat convincing for me then I would opt for something different. I don't mind spending money, but I do need opinions of veterans

Appreciate the help!

I saw a Laptop which allows me to get the gamepass along with it, for about 2 months.

So I'm curious as to what I'm getting myself into.

Discussion Dear Xbox, we have the money but not the option to buy your consoles

So before you start with first party only on Xbox, make sure there is actual consoles available to buy. Here in Norway there hasn't been consoles available in retail stores for two years, and the only online store that imports Series X sells it currently for 1400$! Please bring back some official channels to buy the consoles, both here and rest of Europe that has no inventory as well

Hello legends

As above I have just purchased an Xbox series X and it’s the first time I will be playing since 2008 (logged into my old account and still had my achievements hahaha)

Anyway how does the backwards compatibility work. Do all games work? Is there a list somewhere

Please explain like I’m an idiot and thanks for any replies

So keen to get back into it

Suggest a Game Back to gaming after 15 years, where to start?

Quit gaming in my late teens as I was getting busy with life and at that time gaming was in a big lull so I got bored as well.

Bought a series x and I’m overwhelmed by what to even play. I get weird choice anxiety so curious what you think the best games I should put on my list.

I’ve heard a lot about control, Witcher 3, Skyrim, oblivion remake, RE4, Assassin’s creed black flag resynced, etc.. I kind of enjoy anything, but I love games with a cool world and lore. I grew up playing RuneScape and dragonwilds looks amazing, any thoughts on that? That genre of survival is totally new to me.
