Common Questions

  • How do I increase the font size?
    • There is no option to increase the font size. However, you can scale any TSM window by holding shift while resizing it - then resize the window smaller after scaling it.
  • Can I snipe for everything on the AH?
    • Yes! Since TSM 4.14 you can apply a Sniper operation to the Base Group.
  • Why doesn't my scroll wheel macro work?
    • You likely have your mouse cursor over the AH window, any scrollable element will take priority over the macro so move your cursor off the AH window.
  • Can I remove bid-only items from my shopping/sniper results?
    • No, you cannot.
  • I lost all of my TSM settings and groups/operations!
    • Close WoW and restore a backup from the TSM app. You may need to go back a few days.

Discussion Can we just get a weekly rotation thread going for everyone's "project"?

So many posts get removed that seem to be low effort or "How do I make gold?" extremely quickly, but with that all of these downvoted addons and tools still keep sticking around because there isn't much else that doesn't seem to be actual discussion.

With the prominence of AI and how easy it is to make a site or addon, it seems like this sub is just 1-2 projects everyday of a tool or addon that is just AI slop. Can we just get them corralled into a weekly thread so people can pat themselves on the back that their prompt produced something that worked? That way those who are looking for a new tool to use can just go into those threads and see what's upvoted there?

I don't know if it's just my all page, but the majority of content that keeps sticking around my feed is 0 karma threads that are just being interacted with to downvote the low effort tools and addons.

Question Whats the rational of undercutting like this?

There's this one guy on EU who keeps undercutting himself like crazy.

For example, he'll list an item for 90g, then 89g, 88g, and so on all the way down to 80g. And he'll do this with like 30–50 of the exact same item.

What's the strategy here? I genuinely don't get it. Why not just list everything at 90g and wait for it to sell?

Is there some trick I'm missing, or is he just destroying his own margins for no reason?

Question Have the AH deposits went way up?

I've tried searching the sub for other posts on the matter, and I can't seem to find anything in the patch notes, but it looks like the deposits have at least doubled for some items.

Have I just been inattentive or has something changed?

Question Is it realistic to farm enough gold for a WoW Token without the latest expansion (Midnight)?

Hey everyone. I recently bought a month of game time, and I'm wondering if it's even possible to farm enough gold for a Token in the 19 days I have left. On my realm (Americas), the Token is sitting around 270k, and I currently have about 80k.

I've tried farming herbs and ores in Pandaria and The War Within, but I'm only pulling around 2k gold per hour. At this rate, should I just give up and forget about it because it's completely impossible with my limitations, or is there some hidden niche I'm missing? Thanks!

Having issues with Craftscan/Craftradar as a new user

I've just installed them for the very first time and they don't seem to be working for me correctly.

Craftscan's main menu refuses to even open with the addon button being greyed out (says "Loading... Not scannable" for every recipe on every profession). Also, while it seems to be tracking certain orders from chat, it never opens a popup window for me to click on.

Craft radar is mostly working, but it misses certain requests from chat. For instance, it just missed the "LF JC" one despite both "LF" and "LF JC" being active keywords.

Any help would be appreciated.

Question Is it possible to make 350k gold in 29 days for a WoW Token?

Hey everyone!

WoW Forever is coming out in about 20 days, and I really want to play it. the problem is that I live in a third world country where paying for subscriptions with real money isn't always an option, so my only realistic way to play is to farm enough gold to buy a WoW Token.

I need around 350k gold, and I have 29 days to make it happen.

I currently have two max-level characters, and one of them has maxed Herbalism and Mining. I'm willing to put in the hours and farm consistently, but I'm not sure if 350k in that timeframe is realistic with what I have.

So, to the gold farmers and people who know the economy well:

  • Is making 350k gold in 29 days actually doable?
  • What would you recommend farming or doing to make gold as efficiently as possible?
  • Should I focus on gathering, old raids, professions, the Auction House, or a combination of everything?
  • Are there any good methods for someone starting with very little gold?

I'm not afraid of grinding. I just want to know if this is realistic and how I should approach it.

I'd genuinely appreciate any advice, tips, or farming routes you guys can share. I'd really love to be able to play WoW Forever without having to worry about paying with real money.

Thanks in advance!

Patron Orders Addon

I've vibe coded an addon to help me decide which patron orders are worth doing. There is some automation when using the 'Start' button in the Automate column it will start the order, then after you've completed the craft it will finish the order. If you find the default patron gui as annoying as I do, give it a whirl.

Question Gold Dasboard (WoWGoldTools)

Hey everyone,
I’m new to the goblin scene and trying to make some gold. After years of casual play, I’ve managed to reach a gold balance of 500k—which is a lot for me.
Lately, I’ve been doing a lot of reading and picking up tips from YouTubers and the like.
However, I felt something was missing: a tool to give me an overview of my finances—what I have, what things cost, and what my countless alts are carrying in their bags. Yes, I know there’s TSM and other add-ons, but I wanted a tool I could open anytime without needing WoW running or having it open on a second monitor.
So, I built my own application —featuring a Lua add-on— that displays all the relevant info on a dashboard:

- Gold balance (total across all characters + individual characters) with a wealth history tracker
- WoW Token price + customizable alerts
- "Attic scanner": checking if my alts have expensive items in their bags
- Weekly checklist for weekly quests
- Shopping radar: setting alerts for when items hit specific price points
- Farming stopwatch
- Profession cooldowns
- Collections: duplicate pets, etc., that could be sold

I’m still working on it; it’s not perfect yet.

Now for my question:
Am I the only one who would want to use a tool like this? Would anyone else be interested in it?
What other ideas do you have for expanding the tool?

It looks similiar to this: https://imgur.com/a/1a4EGiZ
I'm not at home for an own screenshot.

Question Is there a free addon, app, or site to see cross realm prices for item, with the ability to differentiate between ilvls?

I know you can pay for undermine, but are there free options available, even ones requiring more effort to set up?

Data Collection Skinners gold challenge summary

Original post : https://www.reddit.com/r/woweconomy/s/f9lHPBfFAV

Report:

https://datastudio.google.com/reporting/8f228bc5-24eb-4222-8478-fccc0948c83d

Summary:

Region: EU

23 \ 80+ lvl alts 13* skinners ,10 alts abundance only 1* gold WQ on 23 alts

Time : 17 days

Gold total : 790 692g

Skinning only: 675 348g

Skinning time : 17h 30min

Skinning GPH : 40k

Skinning session time: 45-65 min

--------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll make it short. Some time ago I started skinning challenge the idea was - 2* void majestic beast daily with 13 alts+ 10 alts for weekly abundance quest. On the first day the majestic hide was worth almost 4.4k, the last day it was 2.5k

If you want more detail + comparison to my small goblin core account (2mln gold with the same period of time) check my Google datastudio report.

I had to skip few days due to IRL stuff and addiction to forever beta but overall I think it's good method as the filler for the other gold activities people are doing to get new 5mln gold mount, in the long term it's enough to have 10-15 skinners and get 5 mln only by doing this.

I did it on my 2 accounts at the same time so bait price is not calculated (6-10k daily) but with number of people (and BOTS) doing it, you will never have to use all of them by yourself, and it's not about leeching, it's just normal that sometimes you logon or arrive when the beast is summoned.

It's like 30-45 min to setup one skinner, 100/100 skill and skinning tree 40/x - if you want own lures.

In the second tab of the report you can see my add-ons setup

Question Is it possible to get to 7 million gold for the mount while playing only 1 character?

Hi all. I’m interested in getting the new brutosaur mount but wanted to ask: is it possible to get that amount of gold in time while playing only one character?

My main character is a mage with tailoring and enchanting.

For context, I’ve played very little Midnight, so my Midnight professions aren’t maxed at all.

I have a lot of free time so I am able to no-life this. I’d just like to set my expectations on whether or not I’ll need a lot of alts.

Thanks!

Do you think token price goes up or down tomorrow?

With the release of the new 5M mount do you project the WoW token price going up or down or staying the same? Wondering because I don't think I want to buy it but do want cheap tokens.

Question Will my epic mount farming strategy from 20 years ago work in forever?

-poopsock to ~50

-kill ogres in deadwind pass for runecloth until 60

-kill more ogres until mount

I was able to sell runecloth for absurd amounts because I was 60 months before everyone else.

Tip Profits from enchanting

Hello, i have been trying to get some money doing enchanting. I have some conclusions, cheap enchants bring you nice profit, but it's impossible to make huge amount of it due to late stage of expansions.

More expensive enchants like Silvermoon's mending, Silvermoon's alacrity/tenacity, zul'jins mastery, lynx's dexterity could bring more profit, but making them is like you make profit only when someone reset the market, otherwise it's balancing on the verge of profitability. Some day you will make 10g on enchant, someday you'll lose, unless you wait for someone to reset the market.

I don't even mention weapon or chest enchants, because with no conc they're impossible to get some cash from them. I don't have most expensive recipes, because the potential ROI on this stage of expansion is ridiculous and i don't think i'll even get the money back if i buy them right now.

I just wanna highlight i don't want to cap the gold at this stage, i just would like to buy few tokens in 1-2 months to be prepared for next xpac. Am i doing something wrong or the profession market is so hard right now? (I just like profs/ah i don't like farming like doing WQ).

Any tips appreciated.

BTW. My second prof is BS, from time to time i craft some orders, but it's not big deal. I keep it because i really love Blacksmithing.

Question Are people still interested in buying the Crowd Pummeler 2-30?

I noticed that there aren't any Crowd Pummeler 2-30 on the Auction House on my server, and if I were to buy the materialson AH to craft them, I would spend 1.1 million. Since I already have the recipe, I wouldn't have any work besides buying the materials and putting them up for sale. Are people still interested in buying them?

Before you ask, my server isn't small, it just doesn't have any Crowd Pummeler for sale.

Question For leveling alts, is it better to go double gathering until hitting level 80?

So my goal to make an army of alts to get ready for The Last Titan is to play through each expansion with a new character from TBC all the way to Shadowlands (already played Dragonflight). Should I be using traditional professions for each class I make or should I just go herbalism/mining with all of the old world stuff before hitting 80 and changing into more relevant professions?

What would be the go to professions in terms of gathering that would land me the best gold per hour if done efficiently?
