when are they gonna do the word "twerk"

This was my son's answer to Wordle #355 (June 9, 2022). Being a twentysomething male, the first two were his standard starting guesses. Quite possibly the best Wordle solve ever IMHO.

Bro...

The bot claims there is only one solution left after my second guess. The game then accepts my third guess as a valid word (and I think it falls within the parameters of fair play), but it is not the one solution… Doesn’t this mean there were two possible solutions then?
Does this make sense?

I saw the first two letters go green and I’m like “Ooh okay cool” then the rest keep going and I jump up and I’m like “NO WAY!!!”

I've always wondered this. Is there an all-time distribution anywhere, or does the NYT ever publish it?

I’m trying to understand how the bot suggestions could be helpful. For example, my first guess (and normal start word) leaves a game wide open (only get an E, but in the wrong spot; lots of other choices here). My second guess brings it down to 3 words (which is information I don’t know at the time, unless I’ve got some side program running which is eliminating letters and culling the list of available words). Here is where I struggle with the bot.

My third guess eliminated 1 of those three (but also remember you don’t know you are down to three unless you are crossing all other available words off a list somewhere). Bot thinks it is helpful to say “Guessing XXXXX, for example, would have guaranteed eliminating every word but one.”

While that may be true, with the information available to me, my guess and the Bot’s suggestion were equally valid as guesses, and there is nothing useful in the suggestion I could apply to another game. The Bot is offering advice based on information not readily available in-game or which a computer can process after the fact.

Am I missing something?

I have a question about what the Wordle Bot considers “most likely”. Today, my third guess was “typed”, which was one of the remaining possible solutions. However, the bot scored it a zero(!) because “yodel” was far more likely apparently? I don’t understand how it calculates likeliness; and even so, isn’t “typed” a *far* more common word?

Let's say you start with SNARE and you hit on the A and R, but both out of place.

Which of the following guesses would you rather follow up with...

RADAR (focus on placing the known letters A and R)
ACTOR (focus on trying additional letters)

I used to always be of the mindset to try more new letters, but then I changed to the strategy of prioritizing placing found letters as that seems to narrow down the set of potential words more. It has worked well for me, do you use a similar strategy?
