Not a skink. Skinks are chubby with stubby legs, theres a whole subreddit dedicated to skinks being high centered and their legs are just kinda dangling or wiggling. This looks like either an Arabian sand boa, or, a wormsnake which i only recently learned is a real animal. Its a snake that looks and acts like a worm but with eyeballs and a mouth.

That sub is dedicated to one group of skinks. There are thousands of other species of skinks, many of which do indeed lack legs.
33
u/Aastnethoth 3h ago
Not gonna lie. Never heard of a skink before right this second. They look exactly how I imagined them to. This sub didnt disappoint.

There are legless skinks, lizards, and geckos. Because it looks like it has scales arranged in rings I think it is a legless lizard.

Looks like a legless lizard, or maybe a mole lizard.
But I'm not totally convinced that this is a real video. In this day and age, I take every "weird" video with a grain of salt. AI has become frighteningly good at making videos.

Whether it’s AI or not, it is an Amphisbaena, AKA "legless lizard", "worm lizards". They live in the soil and are capable of burrowing. They feed on small insects. If one appeared in the sink drain, there is likely a crack in the piping or the sewage inspection chamber through which it entered from the ground below.

u/devour_feculence___ 4h ago
Maaannn, do you know how bad I would've screamed and left the whole house instead of filming? Lol

u/HumorinEverything 3h ago
I’ll say it now, this better never happen to me. I’d probably just pass away right there. A sacrifice to the legless lizard in the sink 😣

Man, it's too bad I can't handle excessive heat because I'm getting so jealous of all these people who live in tropical climates and just get random exotic animals I can't even find to buy for money wandering into their houses like "sup I live here now"
People would think I had a massive insect problem and might be in danger of the house being devoured from under me by various invertebrates with all the lizards I have climbing all over my walls, but the truth would just be that I raise bugs and hand feed them all until they figure it's a sweet deal, free food, out of the rain, most predators not an issue, and stay. XD

Why are you measuring a metric insect, with an imperial ruler?
10
4
u/EarEater3001 45m ago
Not actually. -pede is a Greek stem that means foot. So obviously he should use an imperial foot ruler. Just the division lines are in the wrong place.

Looks like a blind snake or maybe a skink. Sorry I don’t know the species name
Edit: it blinks just for a split second which means it’s a skink. Snakes don’t have eyelids. Its very late and I’m going to bed. So I’m going to guess it’s a Mexican mole lizard
