New, what is it? Small prophet object - water device on bed?

Post image

What is this thing ? At first I thought it was an old CPAP and then an espresso machine!

Wow.
I was guessing maybe some sort of humidifier.
It never occurred to me someone would want bedside tea when they first wake up.
When I wake up I want to get up and go pee.

Maybe he spends more time in bed bc of health reasons or likes to read in bed 🤷🏻‍♀️

Yes, that's possible.
But both of those reasons would not need to be tied to an alarm clock.
People who are bedridden or just enjoying time in bed reading are typically not using an alarm to wake them up at a set time for their tea.

It does kind of give me Wallace and Gromit vibes though. :)

C’mon now, that’s not true. If I lived alone it would be nice to wake up (alarm), do my morning routine, and return to bed to enjoy a cup of tea 🫖 (this is not the first time I’ve searched for a “pinky up” emoji. Don’t judge 😅).

He may have to take medication at a certain time or is prompt about his reading schedule. Book clubs can be brutal if you don’t keep up!

I had to google Wallace and Gromit. I’m in the US 😊

I googled “ Goblin Teasmade 854 “ and it was marketed as a bedside tea maker! The company is/was based in England.

I'm in the US as well.
I wasn't trying to obtuse. I thought Wallace and Gromit were pretty well known.

But also I watch a lot of British / BBC type programs.
When I was younger, cable tv wasn't a thing and I lived kind of close to Canada so half the stations we got were Canadian.

I had a bedside mini coffee maker. I'd set it up at night and turn it on, plugged into a timer that would send power to the machine ten mins before my alarm. It would wake me up and I'd rest until my alarm/when the coffee was brewed.

I make my coffee with a different style of brewer now, but it was great while it lasted.

I'd probably spill it on myself. :)

It sounds handy but probably better for me to get up and wash my face and head to the kitchen.

But then immediately to the coffee pot!

LOL pretty much.
My morning routine is a cup of espresso, a banana and an apple.
Moka pot going first and then let it make the coffee while I cut up my apple.

Aye, but when you're done with that, there's tea.

Better in my kitchen.
I don't want tea on my wee. I'd probably spill it in bed. :)

My granny had one of these back home in Scotland. It would ensure her water was ready for her first cuppa in the morning. You would hear it “ding” which meant time to put her toast on and bring three coal in. She would sit in her bed chatting away while we cleared out the ash and made sure the fire was ready to go for the day. I can close my eyes and smell the toast and coal fire (don’t worry I didn’t smell burnt toast) if you are Canadian - #IYKYK

If you have one in your teepee you can have tea or pee.

Who said you can't do that with this machine?

No thanks. I'm fine with peeing into my toilet. :)

So you don't want tea?
