That felt like a long one (said the actress to the bishop)
Weirdly it doesn't seem to showing on Geonet yet so now I'm second-guessing myself. Good to see that some other people felt it too - perhaps I'm not losing my mind after all!

Just moved from Kapiti to the Hutt a few months ago, settled in within the last month, updated my CV and started volunteering again. Holy heck some of these employers are terrible. I'm going straight from hospo back into it so no issue getting interviews but the first 2 were AI; one wouldn't submit properly and the other had been given a prompt totally unrelated to the job listing. First job offer was by far the worst interview I've ever experienced, I could write a whole paragraph about how unprofessional and rude he was and I still cant believe he thought I'd want to work for him after the way he behaved. The second offer was for a job listed as full time, minimum 30 hours per week, 1st interview then a trial shift done before the manager tells me I'll be starting on a 0 hour minimum contract and let me know day-of when I can come into shifts. The 3rd was another listed as full time but when I got to the interview she said it'll probably be about 6 hours per week until it gets really busy while someones on holiday. My last part time hospo job manager before I moved called all the staff every morning at 7am to tell us if it seems busy enough for us to come to work or not. I swear it didn't use to be like this?

It's been a hot minute since I've seen an Aramex rant on this sub so thought we were all due another instalment...
The amateur parcel fumblers at Aramex just managed to deliver the second half of a two parcel consignment to me, a whole seven days after the first part was dropped in the middle of my driveway.
In between the first part arriving and the second, I was told three different lies.
At first when I queried over the phone why I only had one box and not two, aramex insisted that the delivery had not been completed at all. Once I had overcome their doubts about the existence of the first box in my possession they then claimed that there was an access issue for my house. Spoiler: there definitely isn't. In any case they had found a way to drop the first parcel on my flat access driveway, all of 5 metres from the street.
Next, when pursuing this again by email I was told that the driver could not find my address. Again, this was hard to reconcile with the fact that half of the consignment had already been delivered, that there are two house numbers visible from the street and that my property is readily findable on map services.
Finally, after increasingly robust overtures from both me and the company that had sent the parcel, I was told that they couldn't completely delivery because the parcel was over 25kg. I was invited to make a 1.5 hour round trip to the depot to collect it myself. Again this excuse was demonstrably false both by use of a weighing scales and by reading of the parcel label.
Got my parcel today, no explanation or apology. At some point I'll write them a shitty email, but I think they fuel their vans on customer disappointment, so they won't care.
Tldr Aramex really sucks. Sellers, please be aware that your own reputation risks being dragged through the dirt by use of this delivery company.
Ps. I do just want to acknowledge my 'parcel privilege' since I actually do have my parcels and I understand that others have suffered worse trauma

Kia ora!
I've only just realised that Benjamin Clementine is coming to town this weekend, and I'm thinking of treating myself to a little solo concert date!
Unfortunately, like pretty much everyone else at the moment, funds are a bit tight! I noticed there's a discounted ticket offer on Ticketmaster, so I thought I'd try my luck and see if anyone happens to have a discount code they'd be willing to share.
Would be hugely appreciated!

Kia ora all,
Im fairly new to the Wellington area and am considering getting a qualification in hairdressing. Given this, I kind of have no idea what I'm looking at in terms of academies
Hoping for some recommendations and advice from people who have studied this here, and insights into what the different places can offer.
Im in my late 20s, neurodivergent and somewhat alternative, so wanting to get an idea of where would encourage the creative expression side a bit more. Hoping eventually to get into the colour specialist side of things
I also live with some chronic pain, so if any of the places doing these have a tendency to push training for faster paced retail style hairdressing this is something I would like to avoid (if possible).
Please don't come for me on not going down this path for chronic pain either, it's something I've been passionate about a long time so it's now or never :) but any other advice is welcome

Hey there, I just wondered if anybody has any experience or anywhere to go in regards to workplace bullying even when you’ve already gone to HR and your upper management and they are not doing anything about it and it’s continuing to get worse and worse and you feel like you’re getting pushed out of your job, but you really need your job because you’re trying to support your family and a really bad economic sort of time we’re having

I’m moving down for 3 months before deciding on my family comes with, what’s the weather actually like? Is it raining 9/10 days? Or is that an exaggeration?
Edit: moving from Auckland, wife works in an office I and a mobile service technician who will be driving all over Wellington and working outside mostly
Also people have said it’s windy, how do you deal, prepare and manage the wind? For those who have moved from Auckland down, how did the wind affect you? And also what was surprising about the move good/bad/ugly

During my last visit to Gordon Harris I spotted something I was hoping would exist.
Someone pulled together a Wellington art guide which features an interactive map, event & exhibition list and venue directory.
“ART MAP was created by digisauce Ltd in 2011 with the purpose of making the arts more accessible by bringing them all together into one place, it offers a comprehensive authorised guide to Wellington’s art galleries in Aotearoa, New Zealand.”
With all the buzz surrounding the bee trail and reopening of the central city gallery I thought others might find this useful!

You are a legend, dude. Her Woolworth bag split open outside the Cenotaph, and her groceries went everywhere. You appeared out of what felt like thin air, whipped out a packable neon-coloured reusable bag and gifted it to her, helped her pack her stuff, then carried on with your day. Gone in a puff of vape smoke with the wind in your excellent bun.
Witnessing that generous, kind action in the wild fully made my day. Thanks for being awesome.
