Got a blog, YouTube channel, Etsy page, podcast, travel agency, or something else you're making/selling? Tell us all about it in this month's Self-Promotion thread!

As you know, since you thoroughly read the rules, r/WaltDisneyWorld is pretty strict when it comes to self-promotion, so this is a place where you can get the word out about your project! This thread will be stickied on the sub's front page and updated monthly.

Special Events & Experiences VIP Tour Review

Hello all just wanted to give a view into our VIP tour experience.

We were a party of 5. My husband (39M) and I (33F) have been multiple times to Disney over the years but it was a first trip for my BIL (45M) and neices (16F and 12F). We were also celebrating my husband's birthday. We are generally thrill seekers.

We opted for a 9 hour tour. We met our guide in Animal Kingdom. We were able to do 4 parks, 15 rides, quick service lunch, Starbucks, VIP merch shopping, and were dropped off for Fantasmic. We hit all of the headliner rides we wanted except Remy because it went down.

I think one of the biggest perks for me was being able to be present and enjoy the day instead of worrying about planning, booking, and directing everyone. I loved that we could easily get front/back row. We were able to reride if we wanted. Also our tour guide was great at engaging every person in the group. We got great pics cause she would tell us where all the cameras were. Also girl kept us hydrated all day!

I don't think we would do it every trip but would for sure do it again with a larger group or if we had little ones with us.

I took this video of the attraction when it was temporarily down one day. Thankfully, it did come back up within an hour. Still, it’s interesting to look at a place as if it’s on ā€œpauseā€ while the world around it is still in motion.

(In case you might be wondering, yes this was uploaded before, but I had to re-upload this with a new account)

Just sharing some pictures from our family trip that took place the week of September 21 2001.

There’s a few that came up with; Who wants to be a millionaire studio show, some pictures of the Millennium Village parade. And a City background that I can’t pin point if it was part of MGM studios back in that era.

Enjoy

Attractions & Entertainment The Haunted Mansion (On the Disney website)

https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/attractions/magic-kingdom/haunted-mansion/

This was my tiny moment of joy today. I'm going in March and I decided to just look at the site. Haunted Mansion is my favorite - and I just wanted to look at it - and I was so surprised to see the ghostly people dancing. Putting it in spoilers in case people want to be surprised. Has this always been like this and I just noticed? Did they do this especially because it's October?

Gonna go see if there are other ones now!

Edit: Tower of Terror has something similar!

Planning Looking for a Disney ride aroma match

I recently blind-purchased a Bath & Body works wallflower called "A Quiet Escape" it's described as Warm and Woodsy, notes of forest mist, crisp bergamot and sweet oakmoss.
I plugged it in and was instantly transported to Orlando to a dark, dank ride... not sure if it's Pirates or Tower or maybe it's in Universal (ET or an HP ride). Anyone experience this with other fragrances/aromas?
I purchased additional A Quiet Escape wallflower refills (they are on sale at the moment and probably going to be discontinued based on the price) and will be bringing one with me on my upcoming November parks vacation to try to match the scent.

Yes, I love Magic Candle Company (my annual spend with them is insane).
I'm also aware of the Mrs. Meyers Rain Water.

Resorts & Accommodations Beach or Boardwalk?

• Upvotes

Planning for November 2027 and trying to decide between Beach or Boardwalk. Which would you choose for that time of year and why? Is one better decorated than the other?

We’ll have an 8 year old with us. Since weather is unpredictable, pool is not overly important though we do hope to swim! We’ll have a couple resort days.

Regardless which you choose, would you go with a traditional room through Disney or a DVC studio?

Food, Drinks, & Dining Best place to watch football on property

Where are some good places to watch Sunday football? I’ll be down there in a few weeks and don’t want to miss the game. I was looking into going to City Works in Disney Springs or Rix at Coronado. Are there any other good places to watch? Looking for something that has good drinks and small plates.

Special Events & Experiences What snacks are free ā€œincludedā€ in MVMCP after hours ticket?

I have never been to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, but this year I’m blessed to be going. I’m curious what snacks are included free with the ticket? Is popcorn included? I seen cookies and cocoa, apple cider, eggnog. But any thing else? Thank you!

MDE, Lightning Lane, & Virtual Queue Lightning Lane vs VIP

Has anyone done both and would you be willing to share your experiences? I haven’t fully dug into lightning lane but it sounds like an intense process. Is VIP that much better if rides are the priority? My kids don’t care about the characters so the real benefit would be the rides and shows I guess. Do you still experience some lines with lightning lane? The pricing for VIP is insane but if I have to wait in lines I’d rather not even go. Thanks for any insight you can share!

MDE, Lightning Lane, & Virtual Queue Disney World Magic plus bands

I have one day tickets to Magic Kingdom, and I am staying on property. I have the disney world app. I see my tickets on the app and they r assigned to the right 2 people. I can also see my hotel reservations, the hotel name and all the details on the app. Where Im confused is the magic band plus. I went to magic bands on the disney app. Both bands r showing linked to the correct 2 people. Is there anything more I need to do to link the tickets and hotel? Ive read thru so many posts and googled and I cannot figure out if these r set to go or if there is something more I need to do. Both need to be charged and I did see there is an update to the bands I will do both of those things. I did set my band to link to bluetooth. Does my husband have to link his band to bluetooth with his phone or can I link it to bluetooth on my phone? Does he need to have the Disney app for his band to work? If anyone can help me understand this in very simple terms, THANK YOU!!

Resorts & Accommodations King with roll away bed or two doubles.

We are looking at booking the Dolphin hotel and now deciding between two doubles or 1 king with roll away for 2 adults and a 14 year old.

How is the rollaway bed? Do you think it helps with space? And comfort of the king bed?

Merch Epcot Perfumes for Engraving

I am looking to get a perfume engraved at Epcot. Does anyone have a list of brands or specific fragrances that Plume et Palette and La Signature in the France Pavilion and Il Bel Cristallo in the Italy Pavilion sell? I would love to see pictures of engravings too!

I'm a planner and want to smell the fragrances ahead of time. I like white florals, jasmine, rose, and vanilla notes. I do not like amber or patchouli notes. Any recommendations welcome!
