Looking at the photos on the wall in Ocean House Hotel (third playthrough so first time I'm paying attention to these things and not just trying not to shit myself) and recognised John Brown in one of them. Got me wondering if any of the others are photos of historical figures they've used as assets. Do you recognise any of the people in these photos?

So PC emulation has been getting pretty good lately and I've tried installing redemption on a couple different emulators with not much success until Droid deck came out recently. I was able to get it running and after testing it for 5 minutes ended up playing another half hour before I set it down. This is running on Android on my phone through the app Droiddeck which is basically Steam with proton for Arm cpus. I have a controller that clips onto my phone that I'm using through steams input as a mouse for controls. I tried using the touch screen but for some reason this game is having trouble recognizing input from it. The way the emulator interacts with the game something is conflicting and it's disabling the mouse from the emulator but steam input still works so I'm able to use my controller. I know what I'm going to be doing for the next day or so now.

Straight out of VTM: Redemption~

So, I just now realized I never actually had to follow the sneaky detour out of the warehouse. On my first playthrough, I played a gangrel and rushed in, making a big mess, so once I planted the astrolite, the Sabbat vampire bursts through the door. I figured that was like a scripted boss and that was the way I was supposed to take out. My second playthrough was a Malkavian where I stealthed it and found the way in through the ceiling.

Every playthrough after that, I've stealthed it and followed that same path out. On my currently playthrough (haven't played in a while,) I couldn't seem to get out of the office undetected. I'm sure I used to be able to do it, open the side door, go back and grab a cup and into the side room before the door closes, throw the cup to distract the guys, and sneak out down the stairs. This time though, one guy wouldn't take the bait and I couldn't get past him. Reloaded a few times, then I realized I don't have to do any of that. I can just run out through that big open door/window overlooking the train yard and rush for the station, in and out in a couple of minutes. How come I never noticed that before?

It's like when I realized you can see the sarcophagus on the Elizabeth Dane through the security monitor so you never even have to step on the deck, after all those times I thought it was a stealth level and I had to find the right route to avoid getting caught. (Usually I couldn't avoid the guards by the door when you go back in so I'd just have to jump off the containers and run past them. Not perfect, but you still got the extra XP for not killing anyone.)

I'm doing stealth all the way until I reach the office, then I get detected. I can't kill the sabbat vampires without them glitching out and getting stuck behind something.

Embarrassing! Why do I not remember this being so difficult?

It was tricky for me to get through some of the last levels with melee only, watching you tube solutions I had an impression that beating them using firearms made it much much easier, and even though my melee as a brujah rendered some fights effortless it really got me when it came close to the end of the game. I didn't finish the fight with a last boss, I think it was the last stage where I feel like shooting was necessary? Iykyk, don't want to spoil the gameplay. Recently started a new game and I wonder if I should invest in firearms even though I rarely ever use them bc I'm bad at shooting. Is it strongly advised? Thanks in advance

I have been playing Hellraiser: Revival and the moment you come up the basement steps into the nightclub I was taken back to the first time my character walked into The Asylum. That was such a great location in the game. Everything from the music to the mood was perfect for a goth club.

Hellraiser is really fun and well made but they especially did a great job on the nightclub so it got me thinking of other games that have cool nightclub levels or locations.

I first played this game during the pandemic and fell in love with it. My first character was a Tremere and after I finished my first playthrough I decided to complete the game with each clan. My second clan was, Toreador, then Gangrel, then Malkavian. It was the Malkavian playthrough that changed everything. For some reason now I can't play as any other clan but them. I have tried to start a Ventrue and Brujah playthrough but I always go back to Malkavian. So is it me or once you go Malk you can't comeback?

With the recent commercial success of Blood of Dawnwalker, I think it's time to challenge some of the long held beliefs about VTMB sales.

The common theory is that VTMB 1 sold badly because it co-released with half life 2, and VTMB 2 sold badly because it wasn't VTMB 1.

Both seem kinda false.

My theory is:

1. It is extremely hard to market a game set at night. This is in part because of how bad screenshots look on monitors. (Blood of Dawnwalker dodged this and almost all promo shots are in the day, despite it being a vampire game).

2. Leaning into either RPG or Action works, but the middle ground is messy.

3. Imm Sims sell badly.

4. Urban fantasy games sell badly because it's a niche. (Mediaeval rpg themed games sell better)

What do you reckon?

I’m somewhat new to this sub, so maybe there’s some criteria I don’t know about, but I’ve made a handful of posts over the past few weeks and none of them had to wait for approval to upload. I just hit post and there they were. But over the weekend I tried to post and got hit with “Awaiting moderator approval.” I waited 2 days and it never posted, so I thought maybe it was a glitch and deleted it to repost, only to get hit with the same message.

It’s frustrating because that post took me days of research and hours to actually type out and format, and now for some reason it’s the one post that won’t upload. Any ideas what might be causing this?

Trying to determine what Phyre’s abilities would look like in the tabletop. Like, for example, the fourth rank ability in the Brujah perk tree lets her make a powerful shockwave, which would be a Potence 7 power. Or her limited telekinetic ability being Thaumaturgy/Movement of the Mind 2.

What about Generation? Humanity? Merits and Flaws? What do y’all think?

How did Jeanette and Therese get combined into one body? Is it thaumetergy or something? Who did it and why?

Can anybody explain me why Gangrels are not included as a playable clan ?
