Imabikisō on PC — recompilation project with an English translation preview

Hi everyone! I’m working on an experimental PC port of Imabikisō (忌火起草) using ps3recomp, with the goal of preserving the original game’s engine and behavior through recompilation.

To be transparent, this project is heavily assisted by AI, particularly ChatGPT/Codex and Claude Opus. I’m not claiming to have personally written or reverse-engineered everything. I’m coordinating the project, testing it and working through the problems with their help. Credit also goes to the people behind ps3recomp, which makes this approach possible.

The prototype currently reaches the opening classroom scene, and a small English preview covers some menus and opening text. It’s still early: audio crackling, movie stutters and other bugs remain, and the full game hasn’t been tested.

The planned English translation will be AI machine-translated, clearly labeled as such. Anyone interested in correcting it, contributing a human translation or creating another language version is welcome—the tools are there to support that too.

Any kind of help is appreciated: programming, debugging, testing, translation, documentation, or advice from people familiar with PS3 recompilation.

Hi, the goal is, of course, to keep the original language! There will be a launcher that includes multiple languages; you’ll just need to provide the ISO, and the game will launch.
