Discussion / Question Identify old videogame 2000-2002
Hi everyone. I've recently found a photograph of younger me with my grandfather playing some old video game. I cannot remember what it was. Does someone have any idea? The photo was taken around 2000-2002

Tough to argue with Midtown Madness guy, but Rise Of The Triad was my immediate reaction too. No proof, but two of us are onto something!

I know now it's wrong, but that was the first thought that popped into my head too!

I was about to say I’d want to see more unknown game solving. Thanks for the link

Was the Ford F150 a prominent feature in Prince of Persia? 🤔

No, but you also can't see that that's even a car in OPs photo... Just looks like a shadow to me

Do ya reckon that it was new / relatively recently released pc game back in wee aughts?
any inkling on kind of game you likely would had been playing (with?) your gpa?

Looks to me like a blue truck on a sidewalk facing a building, maybe driver 2.

Driver 2 was never on PC.

The first driver could also be a possibility, I had that for my gaming PC of the time.

If you was playing a puzzle game might’ve been nancy drew thats if you like those type of games.

Could it possibly be Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets? I’m wondering if the thing in the middle isn’t a gun, but a hooded person. The style in the background might be from Harry Potter.

I was 3/4yo at the time so I can't imagine my grandpa buying me a fps to play

I believe it's Spider-Man: The Movie. I can't say definitely, but the timeline seems right and stands to reason there are skyscrapers.

It took me longer than I'd like to admit you were holding a photo. I thought you were holding a small card up to a very miniature computer.

Kind of looks like the blue Ford F-350 from Microsoft's Midtown Madness so I fired up the 3dfx retro rig and drove around for about 15 minutes and found something that looks similar but I dunno ¯_(ツ)_/¯
/edit: I played this A LOT in junior high school on dial-up via the MSN Gaming Zone. A lot of fun and even though back then there wasn't chat or microphones people would roleplay as cops and turn on the sirens and pull over bad drivers and everyone just kinda went with it.
