So I have been here for two year and have noticed a trend in how the school is remodeling things; it seems they are more focus on appearance over functionality. Personally I have not been a fan of the changes to the seating area in the campus center. It feels like there is less actual usable space with the new seating by the stairs and the splitting of the center, it makes me feel like the school took 1/3 of what used to be there away. The Massry building has the worst changes by far IMO as the entire second floor essentially has been stripped as a working area. If you’re a commuter, it feels like your options for work are the science library or the library; which is funny because neither feels like a good working area to me. Last not that this one affects me, but the new mascot they put up with that bench is super creepy and unsettling.

Hey guys! I wanted to ask what are some good Gen Ed classes to take at UAlbany. The requirements I still have to fulfill are Diversity, Natural Science, Humanities, Arts, US History, and International Perspectives.

I wanted to know which classes you guys found fun or interesting and what professors you recommend for each category. Please lmk!!

Currently have an issue regarding bringing my car on campus... I currently have a seasonal job that is coming up in the winter. I don't have a parking permit because I am a freshman and they don't allow anyone to park their cars in campus while a Freshman unless you got into some lottery or have a medical excuse.

Is there any way I could pull strings to get my car on campus for the spring semester of 2027? I just really want to have the ability to work this seasonal job, but it requires me to have a car so I can drive to and from work. They state that you have to have a medical reason, but I don't understand how they expect freshman not to have any job when we're at the end of the day financially responsible for our college bills.

All of my roommates are freshmen as well, but they got into the lottery system allowing them to have their cars on campus as freshmen.

If anyone could help guide me or even tell me if this is possible, it would be helpful!

i'm like really going through alot of personal and mental shit right now, and i really am so unmotivated and burnt out but I don't know if i'm able to take a gap semester right now to get better for next semester, or if I can transition to fully online learning. i don't care if i have to pay extra, but I don't want to delay my graduation because i need this degree but I need help beyond academics and unfortunately this has been going on for like almost two months now. i don't know my options..

Anyone know a good driving school? I wanna practice and be able to have a car for the road test

Anyone notice the workers at the burger place at District East have really concerning food handling practices? I ordered a burger once and the guy who wrapped it had raw beef on his gloves, touched both my burger and the outside and you could see chunks of raw ground beef on it 🤮 never went back and never will.

Just wondering if anyone else has noticed such problems? And who should I go to about this?

My freshman son came home for fall break and his big food request was for Chinese food as well as some other Asian specialties, because all he’s managed to come across so far is food court type Chinese food. What’s your go to takeout/delivery place near the university?

Hey guys!

I have started a small business called DormFix
fixing, cleaning, repairing, unlocking, or whatever you need I’ll figure it out.

I understand shit gets hard sometimes, money gets tight, if anyone understands that I DO. Which is why I genuinely price lower than most local repair shops. I charge for the screen or whatever part plus a few extra for labor. If it doesn’t require a part (unlocking, backup, cleaning, etc) the price may even shock your damn mind.

DM me or comment under so we can sort something out!

thank you!

Can anyone give me more info on fellowships or other grad opportunities and how they went for you? Looking to enter the MSW program and am wondering if I have any chance at getting any of these opportunities.

How many open position are there for Spring 27 Dutch Quad?

Hi, i literally just lost my ring in the Walmart parking lot, it flew off my finger. I know a lot of students (myself included) go to this Walmart daily and walk thru the parking lot so if anyone sees the ring please please please let me know and help me out. my mom got it for me as a hs graduation gift and I have never taken it off since I got it. it means a lot to me. It’s gold and has a sliver infinity symbol on it.

Hello everyone I’m a fully online senior and I need a 300+ level elective for next semester. Does anyone have any suggestions?
