Terfs are coming from twitter

I think a lot of peoe have noticed some very obvious terf posts for a while now, especially ones obsessing over asab when all it achieves is hurting trans people because doctors make wrong assumptions

Most unironically think asab=asab hormones and genitals which is a beyond stupid conclusion if you are even slightly familiar with trans research. This is why people don’t trust doctors because we know they are clueless and cause more harm with their ignorance, now often weaponised ignorance.

One my last thread pointing out that some rando vic dentist demands “asab” as if it matters(it doesn’t, even the dentist in that linked comment failed to respond to the comment that blew a hole in their argument), multiple people included deleting comments openly stated they came from twitter.

https://www.reddit.com/r/transgenderau/comments/1x5huhp/comment/pgo3f5s

So our sub is getting live streamed in twitter by terfs hence why they come here to post their anti science propaganda.

i would block and ignore anyone promoting terf rhetoric since they are more thanlikely from the terf nazi site trying to gaslight people

Doctors asking for ASAB=Medical negligence at best.

• Upvotes

I think this is how the whole "doctors asking for ASAB" should be treated because that is what it is.

People keep saying "but its important medical history", it is actually not. It is like asking if you were exercising when you were a teen, completely irrelevant to today.

Here's a basic example, doctor asks for asab, the patient says female.

The doctor FALSELY assumes a uterus exists even though that person had a hysterectomy and misdiagnoses them because he assumed a uterus must exist since asab=female. (Top tier logic there m8)

The thing is, it would have been so easy to ask "Do you have a uterus?", but nooooo, instead they choose something as irrelevant as ASAB in order to make false assumptions based on it. This is exactly why asking for ASAB is actually a bad medical practice.

And this is the more nice scenario, the reality is most doctors are so clueless about trans people they assume asab=current hormones and genitals which anyone with even vague understanding of trans people would know its a ridiculous wrong conclusion.

I am not rich, but if someone is they might consider starting suing doctors for their medical negligence due to the focus on asab rather than actually relevant questions.

Trans fem Housing suggestions (Brisbane)

Hi guys I’m going to be looking for housing due to the usual unsafe/conservative family sitch. I just wanted to put some feelers out there to see sort of what’s worked for other people or where you’ve ended up finding safe and sustainable housing - at least in the short term.

Not asking for options right now, just sort of interested in how others have gone about it.

Non-binary Topical DHT cream (or similar) for bottom growth- can I get this legally?

Hi there. I am nonbinary and I really really want bottom growth but I do not want the other masculinising effects that testosterone can have, so I am pretty certain I don't want to just take T.

I have heard of many cis women and nonbinary people using topical DHT creams on their clitoris to achieve bottom growth without the other effects.

Is this something that can be legally obtained from a doctor in Australia? Specifically I am living in QLD.

Possible Trigger Any trans mascs who have experienced PID?

Hey friends,

On the cocktail of doxycycline and metronidazole + ceftriaxone injection. Talking with my GP and therapist regularly, but gender dysphoria has hit like a truck. It’s really caught me off guard because I’ve very fortunately been in the clear from dysphoria for the last couple of years. Had a really horrible experience in emergency last weekend (waited 10hrs and had no blood test or ultrasound, experienced the worst transphobia of my life) and feeling very lonely in this experience. Very much trying to push and get a complete hysterectomy and oophorectomy (my periods were awful pre testosterone and have a family history of endometriosis, PCOS and ovarian cancer - have tried conservative treatments like ovestin pessaries for tearing/bleeding and currently have a kyleena IUD to try and fix some of the breakthrough bleeding issues).

Just wondering if people have words of advice or if anyone would be keen to chat.

Trans masc Should I change my GP?

Hey all, hope you're having a good Thursday! I'm just hoping to get a second opinion about my experience with my GP. For context, I've talked to her in the past about potentially exploring a formal autism diagnosis as I'm fairly certain I'm autistic. Apologies if this is a bit too long and rambly, I've also come off a night shift so my brain is fried lol.

I came out to her at my appointment today, hoping I could work through the first steps towards a concrete plan to finally start testosterone (eg through the informed consent model as I'm over 30, being referred to an endocrinologist, or even being pointed in the direction of another GP who's more experienced in this area if she's not comfortable).

At first she was great, very supportive and lovely about it even though she admitted she hasn't had much to do with trans folk in the past.....and then she spent the rest of the consult telling me that so many trans men are just "women with autism" who can't live authentically due to masking as well as their neurodivergence making it difficult to connect with "other women" and making them feel out of place due to not wanting to conform to traditional gender roles. She also briefly spoke about some trans men detransitioning due to the above reasons as well.

She said she feels like she has a duty of care to ensure I have my autism diagnosis before exploring this further, however she did also say she'd look into other GPs at the clinic who have treated trans patients.

Basically I'm just frustrated and want to know if this is normal or not, because all that really sucked to hear. I've been dreaming about finally starting my transition for over ten years, but I've only recently entered a living situation where I can finally start after all this time. I'm not sure how much longer I can keep waiting, especially when the autism assessment she wants me to consider costs two thousand dollars, and my next appointment with her is six weeks away.

My girlfriend is trans as well, and recently got her first script for estrogen within three weeks of bringing it up to her GP (he immediately transferred her to a endocrinologist who specialises in transitioning) so I guess I was hoping I'd have a similar experience.

The thing is, my GP was so nice despite everything and was more than happy to ditch my dead name on my file and replace it with the one I want (she changed my pronouns to they/them instead of he/him, though). I'm seriously considering cutting my losses and finding a different doctor, but I'm also wondering I'm just overreacting, especially if this is coming from a place of genuine concern from her. She even thanked me for trusting her enough to come out.

All I know for certain is that I nearly broke down ugly crying in the Hungry Jacks drive through on the way home, which was very embarrassing lol

VIC Specific How long will it take to freeze sperm?

I’m an 18 year old trans woman, and I wanna start hrt as soon as possible, but I think it would be a good idea to store sperm first. How long does this process usually take? Will it significantly delay my hrt start date?

I should go to the dentist…TELL US YOUR SEX AT BIRTH

it’s getting ridiculous, I had to set up a dentist appointment and they now specifically ask for sex at birth, not sex or gender.

i lied of course and will never comply with this transphobic terf system but it just goes to show that Australia isn’t safe.

This sex at birth thing is appearing everywhere

implant advice

Hi team,

In July I had 3 x 100 mg estrogen pellets inserted. By August my levels were good at 1019 pmol/l, but dropped off very rapidly to 409 in October. My doctor approved a script for another 3 x 100 mg to be inserted asap while supplying me with Sandrea to subsidise in the mean time.

I know 2 x 100 mg is the standard high dose, could the dosage be the reason for the fast drop off? Is another 3 x 100 too much? Any thoughts appreciated.

Possible Trigger A rock and a much harder rock (24mtf)

I have been aware that my parents where emotionally abusive and was starting to move past it, but due to certain circumstances I've had to move back in with them into the middle of the wheatbelt into a town of 200~ people, many of which are very backwards and unpleasant, but I have managed to grin and bear it until recently, I had a suicide attempt one month ago that broke the fragile peace I had with my parents, with them withholding my medication except for my hormones, and two weeks ago I woke up in a fright in the afternoon to my dad slamming the pointy handle of a rake into the dog, and I just reacted and hit him in the ribs to make him stop, he's always kicked and thrown dogs around that we have had when he's angry at them, even when they can't help it, afterwards they brought me inside where my Mum said she's sick of walking on eggshells around me, and dad pointed a knife at me and told me if I ever hit him again he'll kill me, and mum just stood by his side and let him say and act however. I'm at my boiling point of being too angry/scared to be around them in the same room, but I have no other family and no friends left, and I don't have my license or a car, I can either stay and try and avoid them for the rest of my life in this small country town without any other queer people (I think) or I can pack what I can, take anything of value I can think of and catch the weekly bus back into Perth tomorrow morning, I'm sneaky and will be able to get the larger bags out tonight and just say I'm going to the shops in the morning or something, but I'm terrified, and I only have 2.5k~ in savings to survive by myself. I don't know what to do and I can't take it anymore, if anyone can offer advice or give an opinion with a clearer head than mine at the moment that will help please do.

ACNC - Report a Concern - GENSPECT AUSTRALIA LTD

Many of us know Genspect and the work they do. They are listed as a charity in Australia... We are able to raise a concern with the ACNC about the validity of this, and I would encourage as many of us to flag this with the ACNC as possible. The first link is their organisation details which you will need to report them via the second link.

Dr Lisa Friederich, Top surgery in Sydney consult.

I’ve just come out of my consult for top surgery with Lisa and first thing I thought was how delightful she was. She is extremely well informed and does everything to make sure you are as well, explaining everything in thoughtful and thorough detail. We ended up bonding over her dogs and dinosaurs after i noticed several Trex’s around the room. The only thing I stepped out thinking could’ve contributed to peoples negative experiences I had read and was concerned over was that she is very forward with asking you to take off your shirt so she can look (this is obviously an incredibly important aspect! I had no issues with taking off my shirt and bra and having her touch). If you’re uncertain in seeing her I implore you to do so and consider her as your surgeon.

I feel an important aspect of a top surgery consult is being mentally prepared for the fact that this appointment is as much for a surgeons understanding of what will be performed as it is for you, meaning looking at you bare chested is necessary, however awkward it may feel it’s a professional space and allows surgeons to best understand your individual anatomy and how to give you the best results! She does also take before and after photos so another thing you probably know. Shirtless and photos of you bare chested.

Overall I sought her out as she works under informed consent rather than needing psychologist and other approvals before and was extremely pleased with the experience and time we spent in the office. She covered all aspects of survey I had questions or reservations about so I didn’t have any questions.

Giving away two binders to anyone who needs one

I have two binders that I don’t need anymore and I’d like to pass them on. I’d prefer to give these to people that can’t afford to buy one. The binders themselves will be free, I just ask that you cover shipping costs (~$15-20 but that can be negotiated depending on location and circumstances).

They were bought several years ago but they’re in fairly good condition as I didn’t wear them that often (a couple times a year for specific outings). I can send pictures of them on request and they’ll be washed before I send them. Description for each is below. Send me a DM if you’re interested.

3XL Underworks Short Binder (Black)
Purchased in 2020
Bust Measurements: 132-140cm

5XL GC2B Tank Binder (Light Beige)
Purchased in 2021
Bust Measurements: 119-132cm

Ftm going into trades(sparky). Am I cooked?

I’m 19ftm, living in regional NSW, and I’m aiming to get an apprenticeship to become an electrician. I originally wanted to get an apprenticeship by early 2027.

I’m 1 year on T though I’ve had somewhat subtler changes than I hoped so far, I’m mostly passing but as a 13yo boy lol. I’m not open about being trans and once I start passing better I’ll go completely stealth, for now though I’m too clockable.

2027 is coming up and I expected to be about to start applying by now. An apprenticeship is 4 years of minimum wage so I do want to get it done asap. However since I’m still not passing as well as I wanted, I’m nervous and thinking should I put it off until I pass better? Obv tradie culture can be a huge cishet blokes club and with your average random dude’s opinion on trans ppl getting progressively less friendly and also being from a regional area, I’m especially worried how they will react and treat me.

If anyone knows anything about what it’s like being trans in trades, especially trans masc and/or a sparky and/or in a small town, pls share your experience.
Should I hold off my whole apprenticeship or should I just cope and get started? I also wonder if I might have better time in a smaller business than a big one with tons of employees, or maybe learning from a female electrician?

Sydney AMAB seeking advice

Hey beautiful people.

I've been struggling with body dysmorphia for a long time and have been openly NB for a few years. I think I've decided I'd like to start HRT but I don't know where to find GPs in my area who would help with this.

I'm based in the Hills, so if anyone has advice for doctors in the west I'd be really thankful.

Hello, posting of behalf of my friend who is has his top surgery booked in for the end of November with Dr Ran Li, we can't seem to find any trans men who have had their surgeries done by him and he would just like to hear if anyone has any experience.
