Community Question Is Tel Aviv safe with a 3-year-old and 5-month-old?

Hi! I’m from the U.S. and may be traveling to Tel Aviv with my 3-year-old and 5-month-old for about two months.
For anyone living in or recently visiting Tel Aviv, how safe does it feel right now? Are missile alerts and sirens frequent? Would you feel comfortable staying there with two young children?
I’d appreciate honest, firsthand perspectives on the current situation, shelter accessibility, and flight reliability. Thank you!

Discussion Is Israel Canada a reputable real estate developer?

I’m doing due diligence on my shortlist of developers in Israel while I’m looking at buying an apartment ate Tel Aviv. I’ve found they were behind some of the projects Sde Dov and Rothschild like Rainbow and SHE.

For anyone who has lived in one of their buildings, what has your experience been like? Anything I should know before considering one of their projects?

Tourist Help Needed Gift for a friend

So, I have a friend that I’d like to buy a gift for. My budget is 100€ or 300 something Israeli dollars. I’d like something he could use and say, “Yeah, my friend got it for me.” He likes cooking and already has a collection of cutting boards and knives. If I were to buy him a knife, I’d want it to be like Israel themed or something, if you know what I mean. I just don’t know where to find stores like that. Some help would be appreciated:))

Discussion Upcoming Zoom Lecture: Boom and Chains and the literary critique of Labour Zionism.

Hello everyone,

I would like to share an interesting free event taking place on Thursday, October 22nd, from 7:00-9:00PM EDT at the Gelber Centre in Montreal and live on Zoom with 2026 Canadian Jewish Literary Award Winner, translator, and Harvard professor Adi Mahalel. This event will discuss Mahel's scholarship and his publication of the first ever English translation from Yiddish of the controversial novel Boom & Chains by Hanan Ayalti.

Through the story of pioneers arriving in Jaffa and attempting to build a new society based on ideals of community, labor, and collective purpose, Ayalti examines the dreams of a generation while confronting the complex realities of settlement, identity, politics, and coexistence.

Due to its explicit portrayal of class struggles, political disillusionment, and ethnic tensions, Ayalti published the novel in Yiddish instead of Hebrew in 1936, anticipating that it would be deemed too controversial for Hebrew literary circles of the time. Boom & Chains offers a deeply nuanced, rarely seen perspective on early 20th-century kibbutz life that challenges the utopian ideals of the Labour Zionist Movement.
