Open | Hardware RTX 5060 ti 16gb random crashes while gaming

Hi guys, so for the past 2 days I've been getting random screen blackouts and crashes while playing a game on my PC. The PC restarts itself and I get the display on. Things I've done so far:

  1. Ran OCCT Stability Test - No GPU errors
  2. DDU Reinstall of Driver 617.14

There is no explanation for the blackscreen crash and it happens at random times. The GPU Temps and everything is normal. Can anyone pls help out?

what power supply? Could be it’s not getting enough power. If the power supply is sufficient it could be that it’s failing and starting to struggle under heavy loads

Cool Master MWE Bronze 750 V3 ATX 3.1 80 Plus Bronze also wanna point out I've been using this PC for more than 1 year without any issues. Also for heavy loads, I ran OCCT for 15 minutes, GPU was performing fine under heavy loads.

Hmm, could be a windows (or operating system generally) issue, try scanning that and replacing any issues.

You also mentioned checking gpu temps but did you check cpu temps?

Yeah CPU Temps were around 73 degrees which I think is quiete normal under gaming scenarios. Can the GPU be defective by any chance?

CPU temps are fine. If your gpu is performing fine in stability tests then it shouldn’t be a gpu problem, if it was you’d be detecting issues with it and probably be having a lot more issues.

This actually sounds like a similar problem I had a few years ago. IIRC I fixed it by reinstalling windows. You could try a less aggressive approach if you use sfc /scannow in the cmd and it should fix corrupted files.

yep ran sfc /scannow it shows windows found corrupt files and fixed them.

that’s a good start, hopefully that’s fixed the problem :)

Yep Im just worried about the GPU health. In this economy, cant afford another one. Ran all stress tests on it, I found no errors or artifacting. These random black screens are getting on my nerves though

Did the issues start after updating the GPU drivers? If so try rolling back a version or two. Have you "told" Windows to NOT update the drivers by itself?

I didnt update my graphics driver, it started happening randomly and my last windows update was on 9/‎30/‎2026.

It worth a shot. Sadly dunno what went wrong then. Sounds irrelevant but also check out your RAM DIMMs.

Does it happen with multiple games, or just one or two? Check the event viewer in Windows, see what triggered around the time it crashed.

Its very random across all games, sometimes I can game for hrs without any issue sometimes Ill get a blackscreen and a restart I checked event viewer and got three errors:

  1. LiveKernelEvent Code 141 with Bucket ID: LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys_Blackwell

  2. LiveKernelEvent Code 193 with Bucket ID: BAD_DUMPFILE

  3. Bluescreen with Code 116 with Bucket ID: 0x116_TdrBCR:4:C000009A_Tdr:9_IMAGE_nvlddmkm.sys-AMD#0_Blackwell

All these errors occured maybe a minute apart before the pc crashes

Bro, it happened to me too because I got new ram few days ago so I updated gpu drivers and windows and it crashed like 20 + times when I tried to play games and it happened to all games that I play is so frustrating

Yeah it's annoying just try this solution once open command prompt sfc /scannow and check for any corrupted files. It was suggested in the comments earlier. I did it, hoping i don't face any crashouts now
