Internet/ISP Cheapest internet package possible just dropped

Post image
24 Upvotes

Guys guys just saw the ntc post this. This is ridiculously cheap? Should we buy this?? Only 1-3 people right now using phone. In festival. Other time only 2 or 1 sometimes in my family. Is this the best value i can find.

Currently i am using wordlink 50 Mbps. Used to have subscription for 2712 3 months. Got increased to 2932+ sth like that. Paid 10,700 or maybe few hundred rs less. Now that exist no more and it push to 80 mbps. Now it's asking for 12300 i think.

Any recommendations. I understand there is fup issue. Of only 25 GB PER DAY then it gets throttle down to 5 mbps after that it is still fine enough for us 2 people. I only play like clash royale on phone and youtube and other social media like video calls messaging that's it. And my mother also does the same. Only YouTube and social media.

Or should I go for higher version?

I asked a friend and they said it's sucks.

Networking 156GB of footage, 350+ clips, and 7 days later… 🎬

I finally wrapped up editing this Limbu wedding film, and honestly, the timeline tells a different story than the final video.

A lot of the work happened before the edit even started to look like a film.

Going through hundreds of clips, figuring out which moments were worth keeping, building a natural flow with music and cuts, working on sound, and then spending time on color grading.

I individually graded 350+ clips to keep the colors and skin tones consistent throughout the film.

The part I enjoy most? Color grading. I can lose track of time working on it. 😅

But the biggest thing I’m learning is that editing isn’t just about making every shot look good. Every shot needs to make sense alongside the ones around it.

Sharing a few screenshots from the Edit and Color pages. Still learning, still improving, and trying to get better with every project.

Wedding filmmakers and editors — what usually takes you the longest: finding the story, editing the timeline, or color grading?

Looking for a job CV review round 2: I cut it to one page after your feedback. What still doesn't work? (Backend dev, ~4 years, open to work)

Earlier this week, I posted my CV here and got blunt, useful feedback: https://www.reddit.com/r/technepal/comments/1x4378u/looking_for_full_time_opportunities_after_layoff/ . Thank you to everyone who commented and messaged me. Here's version 2. The old one is the second image.

What I changed:

- Cut it from two pages to one.

- Removed the summary. It's in my cover letter now.

- Put the job title first and described each product before naming it. Before, the first words were product names, and one of you thought it was a hotel management CV.

- Made every bullet one line about what I built and what it did.

- Cut the skills I couldn't defend in an interview.

- Explained the overlap between my two jobs. I was part-time at first.

Three questions:

  1. In 10 seconds, can you tell what I do and how experienced I am?

  2. Two of my products are in crypto (Bittensor), and one is a free-to-play poker platform. Would that stop you from shortlisting me? If so, what would you want to see instead?

  3. Which line is the weakest?

About me: backend-focused full-stack developer with nearly 4 years of experience in TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and Redis. My role ended due to a team reduction in September, so I can join immediately. I'm open to backend or full-stack roles, remote or in the Kathmandu Valley. DMs are open, and referrals are very welcome.

Tech Repair Should I ask for a refund?

I need some advice from people who have experience with laptop repairs in Nepal.

I own a Dell G15 5511. Recently, my laptop suddenly stopped turning on, and there was no charging indicator either. I took it to a repair shop, where they diagnosed an IC/power-related fault on the motherboard.

I paid NPR 6,500 for motherboard repair, hinge repair, and servicing. The laptop was repaired and returned to me, and everything seemed fine at first.

However, after using it for only around 1.5 days, I put it to sleep and heard a cracking/"kadakka" sound from the bottom of the laptop, near the vents. After that, it stopped turning on again, with no charging light or any response from the power button.

I immediately went back to the same shop and complained. The shop gave my laptop to another repairman, who kept it for around five days but couldn't repair it. Apparently, it was then handed over to another repairman, who is currently trying to diagnose and fix it.

Now, the current repairman says that the previous repairman's work has made it difficult even to identify the actual fault.

So now I'm stuck wondering what to do. I already paid NPR 6,500 for the initial repair, and the laptop failed again after barely 1.5 days. I also don't know exactly what the previous repairman did to the motherboard.

My questions are:

  1. If they cannot repair my motherboard, is it reasonable to ask for my NPR 6,500 back?

  2. Since the laptop failed so soon after the initial repair, should the shop be responsible for fixing it without additional charges?

  3. If the current repairman says the previous repairman's work has made the motherboard harder to diagnose, how should I handle this?

  4. Would you trust the shop to repair it again, or would you take the laptop somewhere else?

I just want a fair solution because NPR 6,500 is a significant amount of money for me as a student.

Discussion Data Scientist vs Data Engineering: which is worth it today?

I have just completed my bachelors in computing and i am choosing my Masters in data science or Data engineering with cloud course. Honest opinions please:

  1. Which is worth it in today’s market?
  2. Which has the higher AI automation risk?
  3. Which do you think will have more demand in coming years?

I am seeing that the data people is divided into two groups :

Group 1 : Who says Data science will grow in future and it has less ai impact then other data jobs.

Group 2 : Who says Data is fuel so data engineer will be in demand for future

If you work in either field, I would love to hear what the job is like day to day. Thanks!
