I wish to study in Estonia , but i am being pressured to go to germany or new zealand

So i want to pursue my Masters in HCI in estonia's talinn university , thats my plan , but parents and those instituions are pressurizing me to go to germany or new zealand even though i do not wish to go there.

I hold a degree in BA game Design .

the thing is want to go and settle somewhere new and in a place not yet colonized and oversaturated with indians . I am saying this as an indian myself to avoid troubles with expenses and social problems like how my brother in canada is facing .

popular places like canada , USA , UK and all are filled and overcrowded with indians and its caused so much visa rejections , social problems and stuff and yeah regarding oppurtunities , estonia is offering too . the instituion yesterday told me that indians do face visa rejection for estonia sometimes. but its rare ,the process to go there is also much more easier and more quicker.

the thing is studies isn't me main endgoal , i want to settle and have a fresh start in a place that affordable and i think going to these popular countries right now is a bad idea .

how do i convince my parents or what do i do ?

Looking for a Teammate (Age 14–18) for the Diamond Challenge! 🚀

Hey everyone!

I'm a high school student from India, and I'm looking for someone interested in participating with me in the Diamond Challenge!

A little about me: I'm a beginner coder currently learning Python, and I'm eager to improve my skills by working on real-world problems and building something meaningful. I have also achieved national-level recognition in the iCode Global Hackathon, which motivated me to explore more competitions and develop my entrepreneurial and problem-solving skills.

I'm looking for a motivated person between 14 and 18 years old who would be willing to volunteer and team up with me for this competition. You don't have to be an expert coder! I'd be happy to collaborate with someone interested in entrepreneurship, business, technology, innovation, or developing solutions to real-world problems.

I'm hoping to find someone who's enthusiastic, willing to learn, and ready to work together as a team.

Interested? Feel free to comment below or DM me! I'd love to connect, discuss ideas, and see what we can build together. 😄

Looking forward to meeting potential teammates!

Inquiry about finding funding on international studies

Hello! So, I am a 19 years old latin american student, currently undergraduate who wants to study abroad in a double degree program in Germany, however I am having trouble with funding, my parents hate the idea and don't support me at all, so I am on a complicated situation, I would work but I do have a survivors benefits as a full-time student, meaning that if I get some legal work they will take m it off from me, I have been thinking about using it as My way of insurance but I am not sure if it is enough (I am Even studying in my normal uni with a loan since it isn't enough for it); DAAD and Erasmus+ are not avaliable either, most of scholarships are for students who are already studying there or for master's degree/doctorate, here in my uni or country are not any avliable options either, so I was thinking of some kind of loan, does anyone have any suggestion, thank you very much.

Exchange year in Canada - Langley, New Brunswick or Nova Scotia?

Hi!

I'm from Italy and have the possibility of attending an exchange program in Canada next year.

As per title I'm unsure where to go. I'm from the northernmost region of Italy and love trekking, skiing and in general spending time in nature. My other hobbies include photography, FPV flying, and cycling. I also play violin and cello and it would be great if I found somewhere to play.

The agency proposed Langley, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. For the last two, they can't tell me the exact city yet.

I did some research and so far Langley seems like the most promising option.

In your opinion where would I have a better experience and be able to practice my hobbies? And if anyone has already been to these places, how was your experience?

Thanks in advance

For students planning to study abroad, how are you calculating the total cost?

I'm in Grade 11 and have been trying to figure out how much studying abroad actually costs, especially in countries like Australia, Canada, and the UK.

Tuition fees are easy enough to find, but living expenses, scholarships, accommodation, and other costs make it difficult to estimate the actual total.

I'm curious about a few things:

How are you calculating the total cost of your degree?

Are you using spreadsheets, online calculators, or just researching everything separately?

What's the most confusing part of planning your finances?

If you could use one tool to make this process easier, what would you want it to do?

I'd appreciate hearing about your experiences, especially from students who've already gone through the process.

Exchange semester in Tokyo vs Hong Kong?

I am a Dutch student that will go on exchange next year. I am torn between the 2 options and I would appreciate any opinions! (Speak neither language)

I have heard countless great things about exchange in HK from fellow students that did exchange. I heard its super international and fun.

I personally am slightly more interested in Toyko, simply due to the fact that I am interested in fashion, which Toyko has lots to see and do, and also more interested in the Japanese culture. But I have also heard Tokyo is less international and harder to get by if you dont speak Japanese!

The HK universites are all better ranked for what I study (economcis), but the Tokyo unis are not super far behind (if this matters at all for exchange).

Overall I am just trying to have a great fun time in an interesting city, also important that there is good nightlife!

Anyone have any experience with either?

Someone help me with my LOR for abroad as an undergraduate (problem: school letterhead/addressing the university)

I am applying to many universities 😭and scholarships. My teachers told me to make my own letter of recommendation. I am using the opening as "Dear Admissions committee" but in the body, who do i address it to? I need to take the name of the university, I can surely make a general LOR, but should I? Depends, and i don't want any chances.

In short i definitely need to add a school letter head and addressing the university specifically, but I am applying to atleast 30, my school is willing to give me school letter head but after begging and all... They will just not do it, what do I do?

Please help me 😭

If someone doesn't have directly eligible profile for studies in Australia, is the Curtin university's campus transfer option is effective? For instance, get into curtin mauritius and as university allow students to transfer to main campus after 1st year with academic requirements.

Parents not letting me study abroad

Hello everyone, I'm M 17, currently in the last grade of high school. I have always planned to study abroad for as long as I could remember, and have worked towards that goal for several years, looked up uni programs, tution fees and etc. I was always under the impression that my parents are on board with me studying in another country. But as I was going into the last grade of high school, they suddenly told me that they won't let me study abroad. I've talked with them about it, argued and tried everything I could but they just never changed their position and kept refusing to let me study abroad. One of the main concerns was my safety, I made several arguments towards it, but they refused to listen.

Now, one of my parents want me to fully study my bachelors here and then study abroad, and another one wants me to do at least a year here and then pursue studying abroad. However, that is not the path that I want or have any desire for. I'm being forced to prepare for uni exams to study in my country, and I have no motivation to study for exams in my country, or even study a year here.

I'm frusturated and have no idea what to do, as I kind of feel like they're crushing my dream I have worked towards for so long. I know that I can make my own decisions once I turn 18, however they are the only ones that can financially sponsor me for a uni.

Adapting to changes?

Hello all!

I am thinking of applying for a 2-year masters programme abroad. The programme and city sound amazing and I am not so worried about the abroad part as much as I am about how things would go back home. I don't know if this is a weird worry, but I do worry about things changing, like friend groups etc., and then not being able to find my place here again. I've never lived abroad before, so maybe thats why wonder about these kind of things. Anyone have experiences or thoughts about changes that come with studying and being away from home?

Do Not Go For YES GERMANY Agency At All !

I have been planning to do masters in germany and despite telling my parents I will handle it by myself they have trust issues and have paid first installment for this agency to handle all the work.

Here is why specifically YES GERMANY is not recommended at all :

  1. They over complicate things. They make u do extra work and makes the whole process complicated whereas if u do it alone such stress won’t even be there

  2. They are very very slow. I had paid fees for APS as well as submitted all needed documents just for them to take another whole month in creating my APS account itself. That too btw with lots and lots of follow ups

  3. Their YES GERMANY student portal is absolute shìt.

Firstly the site doesn’t load the documents list properly so u don’t know which documents have been rejected or approved at a glance. U have to go thru the whole list

Secondly, we can raise ticket if we want to ask any queries and this will again take days for them to answer which causes so much delays

Thirdly, some queries which you ask by raising ticket also will not be answered clearly which will again make u raise another ticket to clarify and in turn causing so much confusions and delays

  1. They create an absolutely useless WhatsApp group and nobody even knows what to do in that group. Ask any question in that group they will tell you to raise ticket and ask in the portal to which I have explained the experience above

  2. Their main aim is to delay everything further and further and at the end force you to get into some private college since they get their commision from them.
Even tho they will guarantee and all that and they will even give you written agreement yet still admissions are never guaranteed it’s all based on your eligibility and timeline

  3. They charge so so much just to delay and fill you with confusions and extra unwanted struggles. Trust me you can do it alone and save this cost once you make it

  4. There was this one time I got fed up and told in the group to arrange a meeting with the team to solve my queries regarding documents not loading. There were two people in the meeting and it was just them both talking to each other and they didn’t even answer my question clearly. Instead they kept delaying and kept asking “so this is your query right?” , “Ok so this is the problem right?” again and again instead of giving a clear answer
And upon asking them about this they said they will get back to you with no sign at all later on

This was my personal experience with the whole agency thing and thankfully my dad didn’t pay much amount. But I would not recommend agencies and consultancies specifically yes germany for sure

Australia or UK for a master's? Need some advice

I'm confused between Australia and the UK for my master's and would appreciate some honest advice.

My main concerns are visa rejection risk, education loan, job opportunities after graduation, and whether I'll be able to recover the money I spend.

Australia has a pretty expensive visa fee, and losing that money if the visa gets rejected would hurt. The UK seems like another option, but I'm not sure which is better overall.

For someone planning to study marketing, which would you choose and why? Is taking a big education loan worth the risk in either country?

Would love to hear from people who've actually studied there or gone through the process.
