Guys, in a single month Valve solved ALL the problems we hunters had! I'm speechless, really. I LOVE YOU STEAM.

I think it looks great! Even showing you how many rare achievements are in each game. Appears on your showcases too.

I think they need to add more colors to it, or maybe make the ribbons pop more. It's so barren and dull when you look at a lot of games with just one set, compared to how it was before.

Hey, so I've been reading a few comments regarding the new changes to Steam achievements, and wanted to share my thoughts, mostly regarding to seasonal achievements.
There's gonna be seasonal achievements on Steam, that's for sure, and people might miss out, which creates FOMO, but the thing is, those achievements have to and will be archived, meaning people who got them can see them, but everyone else doesn't, so it's as if they don't exist, which IMO I think is good for games that already have such achievements on Steam.
The thing that a lot of people don't realize is that archiving is not just for seasonal achievements but potentially for games with unobtainable achievements too. An example is Batman: Arkham Origins. People have been using mods to create their own servers to get the multiplayer achievements for Batman: Arkham Origins or have used SAM, but there's no need to anymore if devs use the new feature Valve literally provided for this exact purpose.
We are potentially looking at games that were impossible to 100% becoming possible with archived achievements. Imagine if Warner Bros. archives the unobtainable multiplayer achievements. Then no one is gonna need to use SAM or mods anymore to get 100% completion, which opens the door for many other games to do the same and archive broken/unobtainable achievements from their games, bringing new life to these old games and allowing newer achievement hunters to play them.
I'm excited about this, so I had to share my thoughts. Like, imagine if they archive the unobtainable achievements from Mad Max or Pillars of Eternity for being a Kickstarter backer. I think this new system is a good thing IMO for games that already have such achievements, but it can be used to create FOMO too, with future games that may choose to add an achievement for day 1 buyers and then archive it after 24 hours, etc.

Also, it made me play the games I bought, and I started to think more carefully about which ones I buy and will actually play. Yeah, I don't want them to put it back; like other options, I should be able to add it to my profile if I want to. And if you want to know, it went from 30% to 89%. And it made me play The Witcher 3, BG3, and RDR2. And these games are the best, but the entry to them was lame, so they were sitting in my library at 1% for 4 years without being played.

In Mortal Kombat 9, a game I absolutely adore btw, there's an achievement called ''My Kung Fu Is Stronger'' which requires you to:
- Score 100 victories
- Perform 100 finishing moves
- Perform 150 special moves
- Spill 10.000 pints of blood
and I shit you not
- Spend 24 HOURS of playtime
ALL of that with EACH of the 32 FREAKING CHARACTERS!
On the last requirement alone you would spend AT LEAST 768 HOURS of play time, never seen an achievement this grindy. And even though I love playing this game I seriously don't picture myself getting this achievement in less than a decade lmao.

First post here, this is technically #6 but I don't count CS2. A couple of the 100% TBoGT missions were annoying (looking at you Party's Over) and the pigeons were extremely boring but otherwise it wasn't bad. This is the last of my GTA games, I don't own GTA V on Steam and would not do the online achievements even if I did. I got 100% on the story mode years ago on Xbox which is good enough for me.

I noticed that on mobile this banner is animated with the trophy glistening and stars raining down, but it is a static image on desktop. Is it the same for anyone else?

I refused to start any new game because I know if I got a single achievement, it would bring my percentage down, my goal for this year was to stay above 70% but with this new feature, I literally don't need to worry about it. I can focus more on multiple ribbons for games, less worry about not buying a game because millions of DLCs, I can count it done with the base game like how playstation does. I did however go up from 186 games to 189, thanks steam, I'm getting 200 this year B)

Personally, I'm proud, although I have to admit, some of them didn't require much effort considering they're visual novels 😅

I bought it many years ago but ignored it for a while, it actually ended up being a fun game and the story was interesting.

There was more than enough room to keep it, now there's just an empty space and it doesn't really offer a nice compact metric on how many achievements you've acquired anymore.

Some devs already did it for games in my library which were not featured/listed in the steam update news

I wonder if they've added some pop up for the "Completed" badge ? Maybe some sound as well ? To plat a game on ps is soooo satisfying, on Steam you are not even aware that you completed a game after the last achievement if you don't track it.
Also, is it possible to see in the store (if you don't own the game) which game already supports new system separation bcz Ive looked through a couple of recently released games and didn't notice anything like that.
