Hi, Ive seen people ask questions about being bigger at sfga and not being able to have any prior knowledge, me included. This is the guide I wish I had before going. Please remember that not every body is the same, you could have the same exact dimensions as me and not fit on certain things. Also please don't leave hate comments, I understand that I'm a big guy but there's no reason to be rude. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have, nothing is off limits!
I am 6,1 337lbs and my weight is evenly distributed. I wear a 48 pant size and a 2xl tall shirt size.
Flash vertical velocity: Fit (no test seat)
Over my last few visits I've been battling with this ride and now I've lost enough weight to fit. It uses vekoma vest restraints which sit on your midsection. The sensors on this ride are very touchy so when the restraints are being verified I did end up holding my breath. It was a bit uncomfortable but not hard to breathe or anything.
Justice League: battle for metropolis: fit (no test seat)
Nice easy shooting ride, I've never had problems fitting on this ride (I've been going since I was around 350lbs). It's a lap bar but has tons of room.
Wonder woman: fit (has a test seat)
I've always fit on this ride ever since my former 350lb starting weight. It's an over the shoulder restraint but is very forgiving and fits tons of shapes and sizes. The only thing about it is it's a very hard piece of plastic so if the ride op staples you it might be a bit hard to breathe, that happened to me once and I asked them to redo it and they were nice about it.
Nitro: no fit? (Has a test seat)
I tried the test seat first and the way it works is there's a yellow piece of tape where the restraint needs to reach for you to fit. I saw the piece of tape and it was quite visible. I got into the ride seat and pulled the restraint,it clicked twice (it needs 3 clicks but sometimes the 3rd click is inaudible) but the ride op refused to push down (he was rlly rude about it and I heard him mumble as he was walking away that I shouldn't be this big where I need a push) so I bet I could have fit but next time I will for sure!
Batman: no fit (test seat)
Yeah no. I tried the test seat and I'm nowhere close. This is especially hard for people with larger tops because it has a very strict over the shoulder restraint.
Jersey devil: fit (has a test seat)
This ride is a bit weird with how it fits. It had a ratcheting system on the sides of the seat and you need it to go all the way in which is 3 full clicks. It uses a lap bar with straps over your shoulders. The way you sit is also very awkward for taller people. It has a big indent in the middle for the rail which made me put my legs in a weird upside down v shape. But it wasn't too uncomfortable actually, and I forgot about the discomfort on the ride to be honest.
Rapids: fit (no test seat)
Just a seatbelt, very forgiving. Keep in mind though that the seat belt goes across 2 people so I recommend sitting alone or with a pretty small person for the most comfort.
Joker: fit (no test seat)
Super big people friendly! Even better as a bigger person because you spin like crazy. It uses vest and lap bar restraints and huge bucket seats. The restraints are super comfortable and roomy. This is one of the best bigger person accommodating rides in the park!
Swings: fit (no test seat)
Seatbelt and bar restraints. Seatbelt is very forgiving, but bar can be a problem for people with bigger thighs and lower sections. It needs to click a belt from the bar to the latch which is in the part of he seat you sit on. It's around the crotch area, but gets covered for me by my thighs. I had to squeeze my thigh and click it in, but then it was good and comfortable.
Ferris wheel: fit (no test seat)
Easy one. No restraints or anything just a little car you board and doors close. One thing to note though is the doors are quite narrow so I had to enter walking sideways. Otherwise everyone should fit.
Run away mine train: fit/no fit (no test seat)
Okay so this is a weird one. For taller people your legs will suffer. I'm 6,1 and fit but it hurt my legs so bad. For people who are just bigger though it's fine. It uses just a lap bar but is moderately forgiving. I stopped fitting around 347 ish when I was shorter and bigger.
Log flume: fit (no test seat)
Everyone can fit on this as long as they fit in the log. There's no seat belt or anything, it's just a matter of whether you can get in the log or not.
Medusa: fit in the big boy seat (no test seat)
I haven't actually tried fitting in the regular seat to save myself the embarrassment, but I fit perfectly fine in the big seat. It uses over the shoulder restraints like batman but they are much less strict and have a seat for bigger people. The bigger seat uses 2 seatbelts on the sides rather than one in the middle for more clearance. It's still quite comfortable but there's not a whole lot of room by your arms.
El toro: no fit (has a test seat)
When walking into the test seat the worker at the gate told me that the test seats light was inaccurate and watched me put it down and said I would fit however I couldn't buckle the seatbelt on the actual seat. It uses a lap bar and seatbelt, the lap bar is supposed pretty fine, it's just the seatbelt being restrictive.
Superman: fit (has a test seat)
Didn't use the test seat bc there was a little kid sitting in it and I didn't wanna bother him. I got on and was able to get the first click, but you need atleast 2 to get the green light. The ride op gave it a push and it secured. For me it pushed in the sides of my hips and was a bit tight, but still not super uncomfortable.
Barrels of fun: fit (no test seat)
Just a lap bar and seatbelt, both were very forgiving and I didn't need any sort of push in the lap bar. (If your going on this with a friend make sure you guys sit together and leave the other side open. I went with a heavier friend and we were spinning so crazy.)
Thank you so much for reading and I hope this helps someone!
