i know everyone is sick of the job hunting posts at this point. however, i feel i'm in a bit of a unique situation and would appreciate any guidance
i am currently commuting to north austin for a barista job that doesn't pay me enough to live (it's stupid and not sustainable but i have good reasons for staying as long as i have). in recent months, i have discovered two intense disc herniations in my lower back that are physically limiting. i've been going through the insurance-mandated treatment but as i reach the end of it, it becomes more and more likely every day that i will end up needing surgery. my job, being a low wage barista job, does not offer me pto and i am not really expecting them to help me with short-term disability either (i don't really know much about how it works anyway).
all being said, my priorities in finding a new job are 1. remote or a shorter commute, i can't really go further than buda or new braunfels, and 2. a job that has a low physical requirement and / or offers disability / pto / medical leave (not necessary for remote). i am aware that, in combination, this is a lot to ask.
i have tons of varying customer service experience (food / retail / hospitality) and have experience in leading and training. i have a bit of cash control experience at NASA (and at every other job to an extent) and would honestly love to utilize it as i'm kinda getting over talking to people for 90% of my job.
appreciate any pointers, and even if you don't have any, thank you for listening to my exhausted ramblings :')
