Last days I feel like we get a lot of trolls about reignited and of course some people who are really disappointed. But seeing this in OSRS reddit made me feel better. They are with us.

Also Jagex will find other ways to make RuneScape great again. We have some talented mods over there.

For people who have been investing years into their accounts and even those that just recently joined, we can continue enjoying our journey in this amazing game.

For those of you who are hesitant to give it a try, there is no better time to start than now, the game is healthier than it has been in so many years and we have more good things coming. Fresh economy or not, the game would have played as you see it now, EoC and all. If the fact that there wont be a fresh economy has discouraged you completely, I again encourage you to give the game a try because RS3 fundamentally has so much to offer, and the players who have been sticking around all of these years are here to help you along.

Reignited was chasing something that cant actually be recreated. A fresh start in the way it was pitched just.. wasnt. We have decades of knowledge about this game and that isnt able to be taken away, and the new reignited version would have quickly become a mirror of the main game. The focus is now on improving the main game, which is how it should have always been.

New players can still have their fresh start as RS3 becomes healthier and returns to its roots, and now it wont be at the expense of calling others to start over either.

We were very loud and openly upset about reignited. Jagex has listened the playerbase and reverted the split in playerbase (with every other awesome change still going ahead). But Mod Ryan subtly asked us to be LOUD about how happy we are, just as we were loud when we were unhappy. Let's honour that request.

W Jagex for real. You guys COOKED, the roadmap looks FANTASTIC, and I am truly looking forward to 2027 and beyond. I am also looking forward to December 2 to 12, where many of us veterans will be there to welcome newcomers and help them along their path. I look forward to new players trying this game out, a healthy healing community and to another 25 years.

I look forward to the Adventure Guide, Remastered Journey and many other improvements going ahead as originally planned on December 2 still.

Let's show them some love. They truly deserve it.

We ignited or not a big problem we have is the early and mid game and core functions like clans are pretty bad. We won for better or worse, so I think we educate community should be able to strive to try and compile as many issues and pain points as possible.

Let's make sure that when dec2 rolls in we have as solid an experience as possible, waiting for them. And for the stuff , we can't get done by then , let's be there at the community to welcome new and returning alike and show them the ropes, give them that community that helps keep people around.

Like many OSRS players I was watching the runefest stream and caught all the RS3 reveals before the OSRS ones. To be honest it sounds like y'all have an awesome year up ahead. The upcoming adventure guide and the remastered journey updates especially piqued my interest, and they still do. I was a little intimidated by RS3 when I tried to jump in during the last league, but having an in-game hand getting started sounds right up my alley. Reignited came as a surprise but sounded cool nonetheless with the other "new" player-friendly updates.

To be honest I'm still as excited and curious as I was, even with reignited canceled. I look forward to taking y'all's game for a spin come December. I'm seeing a bunch of now naysayers in my community and I'm convinced they didnt listen to the rest of the roadmap or video. The vibe I'm getting is there's still plenty of reason to jump in to RS3 as a new player.

So from an OSRS player that quit rs2 back when EOC came out, just want to reassure and let y'all know us interested players are out there and watching, even if the vocal minority drowns us out.

Serious question: have you guys looked at the reaction to Reignited getting cancelled outside of this sub?

It really seems to me that the potential new and returning players are not here, and they are disappointed.

You can presume and guess how many of them would have remained, but from what I'm seeing a lot more people would have given Rs3 a chance than I would have guessed, and now they won't.

I'm not going to argue either way here, just making an observation.

MORE SERIOUS TAKE:
I see a lot of comments of people who would have played RS on a Reignited account. It sucks you don't get to play this mode. However, hear me out. The game is still playable! You don't need a reignited account to play it. Sure, a few accounts around you will have benefitted from microtransactions, so what? You can still play and have fun!

I have been playing without interacting with MTX for a decade now, with multiple accounts that have never touched it. And you know what? It doesn't affect me. I enjoy my quests, do my bossing, and grind my skills like I would have if I hadn't seen them. If you would have enjoyed doing this on Reignited, you would will enjoy doing this on RuneScape!

As far as the economy is concerned, yeah it is very inflated, and it isn't great. But luckily for us, inflation works differently from real life. If the RS3 economy is inflated, that means you make more money as well. So your buying power stays the same as if you were reignited! It's not like real life where the 1% (Zamorak Worshippers) have everything and you have to thank them for the chance to slave away. You are a participant in an inflated economy where everybody has the same chances, now that MTX are gone. If you get the skills or combat ability to fight bosses, you too can earn good money and buy the stuff you want for a reasonable price.

Most importantly, the game is very fun, and is getting a lot of content and improvements! Give it a shot. If you don't like it, I'm sorry. But you probably wouldn't have liked it on Reignited either.

Road to Restoration isn’t complete without the removal of Radiant Stars. I do commend Jagex for stopping Reignited. If they were essentially saying they’d stop Radiant stars with Reignited, why can’t we get that for the main game? Removal of Treasure hunter with the addition of stars never sat right with me, many players simply took the win and moved on. Reignited has clearly reopened the conversation.

If Jagex removes stars, I will 100% buy premier club membership in November.

Back in 2006 ish, somewhere around there, a guy named "Viper2000" gave me a full zamorak armor set. I didnt even have the ability to wear it yet. I was so excited as a kid. I ran around showing EVERYONE.

I grinded out dragonslayer and its prerequisites using RuneHq in my grandmas old smoking room on a disgusting virus filled computer in f2p since we couldnt afford membership. I remember prince ali rescue taking me a few days by itself. I put it on and walked around for about 3 days before I got lured for the whole set.

Young me Learned a valuable lesson that day.

Ive kept "Viper2000" on my friends list on EVERY account in osrs and rs3 in the off chance he logged back on. Never saw him again. If youre out there Viper2000, thanks for creating such a core memory for me.

We really need to stop panicking so much. RuneScape 3 isn't dying, and it will easily still be around as a live service in 10 or 15 years.

RuneScape 3 is a highly valuable asset that generates solid profits while requiring relatively low investment compared to other businesses.

As a community, we’re really doing ourselves no favors by spreading this narrative, because it actively scares off new players. Who wants to start playing a game that’s supposedly dying?

But RS3 is NOT dying! Next year is going to be a huge year in terms of new content.
Generally, RS3 has a terrible reputation online, which is largely fueled by hate from former players who haven't even played the game in 15 years.

RS3’s marketing is overall pretty bad. There was a nice YouTube Shorts marketing push for Havenhyte which I really enjoyed, and coincidentally, the initial release was packed across all worlds.

Jagex is a billion Dollar company, so they probably know what they’re doing with marketing. But as a fan, it’s a shame that after 1–2 weeks of active marketing, they seem to just give up again for what feels like years.

Ever since Reignited was announced to be cancelled, I'm seeing a lot of posts by people who claim to have been excited to play RSRI specifically because they wanted to start playing a version of the game where everyone started from scratch. But, like, why? If it was something like a fighting game or a tactical shooter I could understand, since those sorts of games tend to have very high skill ceilings that make it difficult for players to get into. Part of the onboarding process with PVP games is learning what weapons and characters and such do and learning matchups, strategies, and combos. For some people, learning to take on an opponent who is much more skilled than you are is part of the intrinsic appeal of those games, as you're literally learning to overcome a challenge that would have previously been impossible.

But RuneScape isn't one of those games. It's a game where you can, if you choose, progress at a very slow, relaxed pace, looking to outside sources of information if you want to learn optimal strategies for skilling, bossing, and even quest orders, but none of that is really required to engage with most of the content in the game outside of the most difficult boss encounters.

RuneScape, uniquely, seems to be a game that people refuse to interact with specifically because it has been around for as long as it has, and I have never seen people voice this specific concern with other games with large, seasoned playerbases.

Seriously. Would these same players log into OSRS, see a player with BiS ranged gear and then immediately lose interest because "I don't want to play catch up with that guy." What about MMO-ish games like Warframe or Destiny? Who in their right mind sees a Guardian wearing cool armor from a Raid or using abilities from a DLC campaign and say, "Damn, he's been playing the game for five years, I'll never do what he does" and leave?

The whole thing reeks of bad-faith engagement with the topic to me.
