I just released my game for Pico8 - Death of Kairos

Steal the time from a rotting corpse of its former master, dodge his bullet-hell-like spells, and fight his army of minions. But what will you do when you win? How will *you* use it?
Play it for free here: https://voidgazerbon.itch.io/death-of-kairos

All this decompiling AI stuff, it made me reminisce about what old gems could be fixed and made playable. One of these "gems" is Punky Duck, a 1996 game by Condor Software. It's not a great game, but it was one of the few games we owned way back when. I don't even know where we got it from. It was a hard game for a kid and like games were in those days, it didn't hold your hand.
A couple years back I tried to get it to run and play on Windows/DOSBox however it wasn't nice to play. Game speed, control scheme, the fact that the friggin' compass didn't restore when loading a game. I barely managed to finish the first boss and then the game ended. This was all I know from back in the day too.
So I thought I'd use Claude to make it playable native and in web and modernise its controls a bit, add a couple of bugfixes, QoL so the game can be played without much frustration. To my surprise Claude also found that completing island 1 ends the game instead of moving on to island 2 there are four more islands and more quests and more "story" but this was only ever accessible through the cheats menu. How fun, a whole new game to discover!
You can find the code repo on Github: https://github.com/RainOrigami/Punky-Duck-1996
You can play the game in your browser: https://punky-duck.staticdomains.app/
For preservation all enhancement features are optional, you can boot the game as its original version with all its bugs and 1996 magic.

This was all 100% reverse engineered and vibe coded through Claude, I just did the testing and told it what to add as enhancements. The future. I am still not sure if this is a good or bad thing, that it's so easy to do this. But it was fun nonetheless.

A successor to Colonization (1994)?
Please allow me to introduce:
COLONERRA: Age of Exploration, a turn-based historical 4X grand strategy game about turning that single dot on a map into a thriving colony and that colony into a nation.

Watch trailer: Trailer
Hi, my name is Mihailo, and I am the lead developer for Colonerra Age of Exploration, with almost 20 years of professional programming experience. We are a small team from Serbia consisting of one dev, two designers, and a few helpful friends who do testing, copywriting, and, occasionally, illustrations. As you can guess, we are big fans of Sid Meier’s Colonization and Civilization, and we play the originals to this day. We feel that Colonization never got the successor it deserved, so we decided to take a swing at it ourselves.
Come join us and check out the game on Steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/4964150/Colonerra_Age_of_Exploration/

I went to the Portland Retro Gaming Expo (PRGE) this weekend and was surprised there wasn't already a dedicated subreddit for it, so I created one!
I figured it would be nice to have a place for attendees to share photos, videos, gaming pickups, cosplay, panel recordings, and memories from past expos, as well as discuss future events.
I've started posting some photos and videos from this year's expo, and it'd be great to see what everyone else captured.
It's an unofficial, fan-run community. If you've ever attended PRGE or are thinking about going in the future, feel free to join!

Snagly – price-drop alerts for specific eBay listings (free)
If you're watching a Buy It Now listing and waiting for the price to come down, paste the link into Snagly, set the price you'd pay, and it emails you if that listing drops to it. You can try it with any listing without an account; you only sign up if you want the email.
• Each tracked listing gets a price-history chart, so you can see whether a seller has been slowly cutting the price or just relisting
• Uses eBay's official API, no scraping, no extension
• Not a PriceCharting replacement: it doesn't estimate market value, it just watches the exact listing you care about
• US eBay (ebay.com) only for now
Disclosure: I built it, and the site earns a small commission when someone buys on eBay through it, which keeps it free. Feedback very welcome, especially from anyone who hunts specific carts or consoles.

Dev here, sharing a free tool in the self-promo thread. Shufflebox is a portable Windows game launcher that finds Steam and non-Steam games on all drives, including older PC installs like PREY (2006) and UT2004, and puts them in one grid. It has a RANDOM button for when you can't pick what to play, and themes like Doom Red and Quake Brown. Free, no ads or tracking (closed-source freeware). https://renegade-android.github.io/Shufflebox/ (54 s demo: https://youtu.be/E718gbYBGU8)

Back in May I shared NeoBox here, a Neo Geo emulator I made for my Mac because I missed the MVS cabinets from my childhood arcades. Version 2.0 just came out and it now runs on iPhone and iPad too, with touch controls modeled on the Neo Geo pad, save states, memory cards and a CRT shader. If you already had it on Mac, you get the iPhone and iPad versions for free.
Built on the open-source Geolith core by Rupert Carmichael.

I visited Games & Vintage Days in Wrocław, Poland, where retro gaming fans could discover a huge selection of consoles and games, from classic Game Boys and Sega Game Gear to Atari Lynx and many more.
The event also featured the Japanese NiuCon fair, so there was plenty to explore beyond gaming. I picked up a couple of games, tried some multiplayer classics, and discovered an amazing gaming zone packed with retro consoles and computers.
