Engineering [0 YoE, Mechanical Engineering Lab Assistant, Operations/Mechanical Engineer, Northeastern US]

Hey everyone. I'm currently a senior at my university and will be graduating next semester. I have been applying to some defense positions with a previous resume but haven't had much success so far. I created this version today using the proper template and would love some feedback from everyone.

Ideally I would like to land a role in defense/aerospace as an operations engineer but would be ok to work in a different industry or different role. I would also like to re-locate to the northeast of the US if anyone has any advice for some open opportunities. Thank you all!

Technology/Software/IT [0 YoE, Student, Data Engineer / BI, Tunisia] - Seeking PFE 2027 Resume Feedback

Post image

Hi everyone,

I am a final-year CS Engineering student specializing in Business Intelligence and Data Engineering. I am currently preparing my CV for End-of-Studies Project (PFE) internships starting in early 2027, focusing on Data Engineering, BI, and Applied AI roles.

I would love to get your feedback on:

  1. Is my technical project scope (multi-agent RAG & end-to-end MLOps) clear and impact-focused for Data Engineering?

  2. How are the visual hierarchy and readability for quick recruiter scanning?

  3. Are there any formatting areas or bullet points I should tweak?

Targeting roles in Tunisia / Remote. Thanks in advance for your insights!

Education [21 YoE, Primary Teacher and Subject Lead, Visiting Lecturer in Teacher Education, United Kingdom]

I’m a UK primary teacher with 21 years’ experience. I currently teach full time and lead maths, computing and attendance in a multi-academy trust, and I’m part-way through a part-time professional doctorate in education.

What this CV is for: a visiting (sessional) lecturer pool in a university education department. The work would be teaching on primary and early years teacher-training courses, plus school visits and tutoring trainee teachers. The application is this CV plus two supporting statements, one on areas of expertise and one on teaching experience. The pool is open until filled, so there’s no closing date. I’m also applying for permanent lecturer posts in teacher education.

Not what this CV is for: I’m also looking at corporate training, IT trainer and systems/data roles outside education. I have a separate, rewritten CV for those, so please don’t judge this one against them. This version deliberately keeps school language because the readers are teacher educators.

Where I am: I haven’t sent this application yet, so this is fine-tuning before submission. I’ve had interviews for school leadership roles but no offers. The feedback was mainly that I should state my impact more strongly.

Feedback I’d particularly like:

  1. First impression: does the top half (headline, profile, areas of expertise) make it obvious within 10 seconds why I’d suit university teacher education?
  2. Length and balance: it’s two pages. Is that right for a UK education CV, or is the first page too dense?
  3. The gap: I haven’t yet taught on a university course. Does the CV handle that well, or does it still show too much?
  4. Older experience: do my earlier roles (2005–2017) add weight, or should I cut them down further?
  5. Wording: anything that reads as inflated, vague or too full of jargon. Acronyms like ITT, ECT and EYFS are standard in this sector, but tell me if any still need spelling out.

Thanks in advance. Brutal honesty welcome.

Technology/Software/IT [1 YoE, IT Support (MSP), Support Engineer / Integration Engineer, Canada]

Hi everyone, looking for some honest feedback on my resume.

I have a computer science degree and about a year in IT support at a managed service provider. I have been applying to support engineer and integration engineer roles as a step toward software engineering or AI work in the long run.

The problem is I keep getting rejected early and have not landed a single interview yet, so I feel like something is off with the resume itself. Does it read too much like general IT support? What would you cut or change?

Resume is attached. Thanks for any advice.

I Have a Question Wrong year of employment put on the CV platform. What to do about this once I'm already in the interview stages?

Hi people.

So I have ended up in a very odd situation. I have been unemployed for a long time, over a year, due to my own choice to not work, do my own things.

In the last few months I've been starting to look for a job. Recently, I've sent out a lot of CVs and received no calls. I've started panicking, thinking why that could be the case and realized that potentially me having this large of a gap for not working could be an issue. So I wanted to do an experiment- make it look like I worked for 1 year longer, apply to a bunch of positions and see if the calls start coming in or it's something else (maybe a season, just me as a person not fitting the role or something like that).

I did that and... I received a few calls in the last few days. This makes me think that a large gap in unemployment might've been the reason.

Which would all be fine and well, but the problem is that one of the places that called me is actually, genuinely a place that I would love to work at. Their culture, their mission and everything- I would love to be a part of that.

We already had a first online call, we vibed really well, I liked them a lot, they seemed to like me a lot and already invited me for a talk IRL in their office.

Now that I really want to get this job, I realized that this could potentially cause issues and be a reason for me not being hired even if they decide they would like to hire me otherwise.

Are there any good ways to go about this? I didn't expect to be in this situation... Just wanted to experiment and see if that changes anything and what to do about it, and now I'm in a pickle... If it would've been random companies that I don't care for that much, I wouldn't mind letting go of their invitations, but this one company... I really badly want to work for them.

I Have a Question Any good resume builder on pc that I can make my resume that doesn’t require a subscription?

I’ve been trying to find a resume builder that doesn’t require a subscription. Most act like they’re free then once you go to save or do anything with it they throw a subscription fee in your face. Does anyone know a resume builder that don’t do this?

Hello, I would appreciate feedback for my resume as a medical student. I am hoping to get a residency in America but I am not American so my options are limited. Surgery is my interest, but I’m considering other options as well. My wife is American so I won’t need to be sponsored for a visa.

I (24 F) finally got authorization to work in the U.S. as a w-2 employee and this will be my first time applying for entry-level corporate jobs.

During college I was not able have an internship because of the work authorization constraint. I was a Resident Assistant for the university which granted me a scholarship + a full tuition scholarship I had already earned.

I also worked as a nanny during my last 2 years of college and have been nannying since I graduated.

I would love some feedback on my resume as well as some advice on how to maybe approach interviews and the overall application process, knowing that I graduated May 2025 and have not had a job where I used my degree yet.

My aim is to find a job in Business Analytics / Business Intelligence since I have a degree in Business Analytics and a degree in Business Admin.

Thank you!

Healthcare/Medical [5 YoE, Charge/Floor Rehab Nurse, Registered Nurse Case Management, United States] - Looking for resume feedback

Hello everyone. I'm submitting my resume in hopes to get into a GI case management position while I only have bedside nursing experience. I highlighted my roles that could possibly be more useful for case management.

Are my goals too off center for what I am applying for?

Is my overall presentation appropriate for a recruiter to easily read?

While I did grammar checks - does my wording sound consistent? Thank you.

Discussion Correct approach to updating employment dates on a resume

I'm currently in the hiring process for a contract position with a company and I got an email from their workforce management administrator telling me to provide an updated resume and confirm that all employers and employment dates from the past five years are accurate.
After reviewing the resume that was forwarded to them by the company, I noticed two employment periods were listed incorrectly.
I want to correct the resume and send an accurate version before the background check proceeds. I'm concerned about whether the discrepancy could jeopardize the opportunity, even though I'm correcting it now.
I just wanted to ask how would it be viewed if I sent a corrected resume and how should I communicate these corrections to the staffing provider ?
