Picture Found a really cool replica of Arthur's journal on eBay!
I've been wanting a replica of Arthur's journal for a while now and finally decided to treat myself to one.
This one was from eBay. Around 600 pages, including Arthur's journal entries, sketches and some of John's too. Not sure if it includes absolutely everything from the game as I've only had a quick flick through so far.
The faux leather cover isn't an exact copy of the one from the game, but I'm really happy with how it looks. The gang photo, keyring and stickers were little freebies the seller threw in.
Overall I'm happy with it as I know how expensive some of the replicas can be.

Discussion I'm playing first time in Rdr2 and I love it
Please don't spoil me game, and sorry for my English
I am now in chapter 2,and I'd never seen such a beautiful open world where I want to stay long time and don't play story. I like the story but knowing that in chapter 2 is the best time to chill I don't want to continue. I have too much to say because I don't have someone to speak with and have soo much stories here.
I lost 2 horses because of bounty of Micha quest(I said on another post about Arabian, but now I lost my white Kentucky too).
How I falled in love in Raven Black Shire(I seen him before quest with him started and tried to steal him,but he twice hitted me,and when I was on stable I clicked some random button because I was lost in buttons, and I was lucky that I stabled him)
God I’m so fed up with talking to an AI about this, and I’m just so glad I can share it with someone else. BTW credits for the art https://johnsonsjohnsons.tumblr.com/ (I'm not sure but I think this is him)

Screenshot Arthur's Stable (+ Rate My Arthur)
All stallions:
1 - Black Kentucky Saddler - Doolin*
2 - Black Rabicano Tennessee Walker - Dalton*
*Named after my favorite outlaw gang (and one of my favorite Eagles songs).
3 - Raven Black Shire - Brutus; I always name him Brutus because Hosea calls him a brute.
4 - Black American Standardbred - Bruce; Named after the Dark Knight himself (even if he didn't exist back then).
5 - The quick outfit I threw together with already owned clothes after I got Jon's hat.

Question trying to figure out what's written in Dutch's notebook
I'm going over Colter's details right now, and I noticed that Dutch spends most of his time writing in his notebook.
I wanted to read it and was surprised to see French. since it's my first language, I deciphered what I could (keeping in mind that I’m playing on a PS4 with a screen that’s not great), and the little I understood looked like random sentences—almost like the kind I might have copied down myself in kindergarten to practice writing. I wanted to know if any of you know anything about this or if it’s just Rockstar throwing stuff in at random to fill up the pages
(none of in-game text is translated, even on a console set to French.)
edit : looked through Horseshoe Overlook and found the exact same pages in Mary-Beth's note book. seems like the whole gang has been practicing french lately

Screenshot What even causes this?
Immediately got this cyan filter over a portion of the screen as soon as I started dragging the guy, a quick restart of the game fixed it but that was something.

Discussion First playtrough of both games and I think the first was better. Spoiler
galleryLet me explain.
I started playing read dead redemption 2 about a month ago and I took my time played slow and enjoyed the story. I was always high honor and thuss it was kinda funny that the game was trying to rectify myself whilst the only bad things I did where the things I had to do for quests.
My favorite camp was shady bell since I think that was the turning point for most camp members. But I think after finishing the game and ending high honor. Then buidling my house and finnaly starting rdr1 makes the experience so much more diffrent then people who grew up with the first game.
You know why you kill Bill, Javier and Dutch and I can't lie I realy wanted to kill Dutch after the whole Micah thing. I was kinda annoyed that he did it himself. The man had gone insane after all. But with knowing the picture and having seen the downfall with Arthur morgan I think it makes RDR way more understanding because if I hadn't had the connections with the character I don't think I would have cared about this game. Also after playing the RDR1 I did miss Mexico in RDR2 I loved that part of the map. Also the bounty hunting in both games is one of my favorite things about it.
(I did use the reality redemption mod btw.)
From the 2 main characters I did like Arthur more he had more depth and character and we see how he grows as a person and his final act makes rdr1 so much more painful. John was great definitely the conversations about loyalty and the overal story. I do think that the game should have ended with John comming home instead of killing him off but then again...
Also the characters in rdr1 where less memorable accept a couple, Bonnie and Landon Ricketts where my favorite. Compaired to side characters like Pearson or even Tilly I think you can forget the RDR1 characters pretty fast.
Some of my favourite moments of the intire story are:
Ofcourse going out drinking with Lenny doing the whole gunslingers side quest to get there picture. Getting eggs with pearson since we never do a lot with him. And the nun we speak. I also loved hunting so getting all the legendary animals was fun (not the fish haven’t even completed 1 I think) Then in RDR1 it has to be getting the kentucky horse after getting new horses. Helping the rebels take over escalare and the I know you side quests. And of course the final couple of quests where you raise Jack.
The red dead redemption series was amazing. I loved it Im probably gonna try online in the futur but I have been coronacly online for too long now.
Thank you rockstar games.

Question Bounty haunters
Hey fellers, Sometimes when I'm dealing with bounty hunters, killing one of them usually the last one gives me negative honor and it's a big drop, is that a bug? I've checked multiple time no he's not running away he's actively shooting at me when this happens and there's no horses or law dog around, any thoughts? Also i always run away when there are law dogs engaged cause i don't want to kill the dogs, is there a way around them to not get bad honor while also getting that sweet loot off the haunters? Thanks in advance cowboys

Spoiler Platinum Trophy Spoiler
I’m not even close to getting this as I’m still trying to get 100% in story mode, but I feel because how good this game is and the attention to detail that all these challenges and trophies need, that when you platinum this game, it should be worthy of a LinkedIn post and a resume update. Shows that you’re detailed oriented, honorable, a team player thriving under poor leadership and you persevere through the toughest hardships like gambler 8 and tuberculosis.

Discussion Post for Reverend
Just finished “The Fine Art Of Conversation” in chapter 6 of rdr2 where reverend swanson leaves at the end and I have some thoughts I’d like to share. Most posts/comments I see online about reverend Swanson are usually just ripping on him for being useless or not serving any purpose in the plot of the game (and I’ll admit for a while I thought he was just drunken idiot weakling) but after a while I completely disagree.
At the beginning of the game, we meet Reverend as a sort of spineless do-gooder. Someone whose only real purpose in the group is to boost morale but even then we only ever feel as though he’s (literally) preaching from a soapbox pedestal. Chapters 2-4 he’s basically just the town drunk high on opiate all the time and making a general clown of himself
Chapter 6 (and off-screen in chapter 5) we see his character take a drastic shift into a more serious, almost respectable tone. Most of this is pretty obvious to the player but here’s my more personal take on his character;
Reverend was always supposed to embody the realist. Reverend was right about everything from the start to the point even he didn’t realize it. His substance abuse was most certainly being driven by his subconscious (or unconscious) mind being unable to cope with knowing the fact that the gang was doomed from the start. He also couldn’t live with the gravity of his own choices in being there in the first place. This is evidenced by the fact that he got himself together and cleaned up his act while the gang was falling apart. He saw the truth manifest as he watched his leaders turn rancid from paranoia and delusion and his mentors die (Dutch, Hosea) and the innocent perish (Lenny). You could even pull some biblical reference with Micah being the serpent in the garden.
While all this was crumbling around him his repressed fears and guilt surrounding his condition were all finally validated and out in the open. Him realizing this even led to him attempting to shepherd those around him to safety (the women and others in the camp) to no avail. He made the hardest choice there is to leave all that you know and venture into the unknown with nothing but the broken self to carry him along. Reverend was the good guy all along. This serves as an incredibly important plot point because it shows how Reverend was the penultimate expression of reality that the entire group scoffed at and belittled the entire time only for him to serve as a form of acceptance in the end. He rose to fortune while the gang withered. He was the expression of reality the gang was running from all along, not Milton & Ross, not the Pinkertons, not Cornwall, not the army, not civilization, but the reality of a life being what it is for the common man; sweet, simple, humility.
Reverend wasn’t weak, he just couldn’t buy into the delusion the rest of the gang held onto for so long. He tried, the fact he even stayed with the gang for as long as he did is a testament to the fact that he wanted to believe in the vision but just couldn’t get past all the lying, killing, stealing, and robbing, not to mention the total unrealistic expectation that you can make so many big and powerful enemies and expect to come out on top whilst living in the mud and tolling around in the dirt.
In the end Reverend sees his instincts validated and his reality come to life by making the choice to accept defeat and leave. He embraces change, progress, evolution, and even imperfection. He knew others wouldn’t take him seriously, he knew he was no perfect leader or grizzled gunman, he knew his resolve and convictions in life were all fluid and conditional (as they should be) and he was willing to embrace the present with dignity.
There’s more I could say about all this but for now I’d love to hear outside opinions on the matter. Let me know what you guys think!
P.s. I also have similar thoughts on Trelawny being an expression of what outlaws would become in the future (con artists, silver tongue salesmen, almost political in nature businessmen, etc.) but I’ll save that for another take
