5 o’clock ready? what do yall think?

Well the mods here have the thinnest skins of any subreddit I've been in - 400 likes, awards, and you have to nuke it. Go suck a green apron some more.

Sooo I'm a publix associate that started going by my middle name instead of a nickname derived from my first name earlier this year. I went into passport and changed my preferred name to my middle name around the time I decided to make that change. Since then, I've gotten my engraved name tag, name on my register login, and even my name on Oasis updated to match my middle name. However, anytime I log into abcomputer, my old nickname comes up and it's genuinely starting to bother me. Does anyone know how i can go about getting this fixed? I'd like to think I can talk to a store manager about it or call IT, but I'm open to anything else I can possibly do. Thank you to anyone who took the time out of their day to read this!

Stealing this idea from another user (hehe) but my personal best song is either Good Ol Days by Hayley Williams or Be Kind by Halsey. Everything else I just kinda tune out 🥲

My store just opened less than a month ago. I've been consistently getting 32 hours as a part-time employee, but on the schedule for the week after next, I have only 8. I found it a little odd.

I remember trying their pie years ago and it didn't have the fake lime on top and it tasted fresher & more lime flavor. Just had one & it tasted like a frozen betty crocker pie idk if I remember it wrong or if it actually taste like shit now or always has

I’m a huge fan of the Publix bakery white mountain bread. Always soft and fresh and apparently baked there everyday which had me thinking a lot of the other breads might not be baked there everyday. Which ones are? Or do they bring in frozen dough and bake onsite?

My Mama always said “on sale” is good 👍🏻 but FREE is WAAAAY better. HBD to me 🎂

(Im an employee to preface this) If boomers would stop shopping here and just paying whatever price items are marked to there would probably be a difference in price. Roughly 75% of people who come through my store are elderly and drop a couple hundred like twice a week. Full carts compared to gen z and such have maybe 5 items most of the time? Its such a noticeable difference and multiple stores ive been to are like this. Also feel free to screenshot this bc the mods seem to be trigger happy recently.

Absolutely dishonorable. u/heckinggoodgirl you should be ashamed of yourself.

They used to be the reasonable delivery option since they did not do mark ups like Instacart and didn’t add BS fees. I kinda knew it was too good to last but It’s disappointing to see this tech “Enshittification” happen everywhere.

I am barely saving off homelessness for me and my girlfriend, and I have explained to my managers REPEATEDLY my situation and this is still what I'm getting week after week. What am I supposed to do?? What do they want from me? I'm doing my best, busting my ass every day, I have no idea what to do differently

don’t get me wrong. I love my job. I love the detail and hustle within working grocery. But I hate the constant abuse that I go through with my store. Anytime I try to request time off it gets denied, or I get pushed back or they simply just don’t look at it. I haven’t seen my father in months because guess what? they’re only off on weekends. do you know who never gets a weekend day off? the only GTL!😂 meanwhile my managers get full weekends off or four-day weekends. thats it. i’ve said my peace. i just need a break🫠

Has anyone else done this? What's the process like? What are the advantages and disadvantages? I'm in the meat department if that aids any.

A lady came through my cashiers lane and said she wanted her first order in paper double paper bagged. I got the paper bags out and started to open one and kind of flatten the bottom so the other one would fit. As I’m doing this, another cashier comes back from break asking where she needs to go. I was telling her to just open up a register and take some people as we were getting backed up. Right as I’m about to put the second bag in, the lady says “I’ll just bag it myself” and she said it in a way that seemed like I was going too slow for her. I just told her “okay sure” and walked over to the cashier who just opened up to bring people to her lane. The lady then proceeded to complain to our ACSM about me. I later found out she said to my cashier that she was going to complain and my cashier responded with “really?” and her response was yes and that I was very rude. Did I handle that wrong or am I just delusional because I can’t see what else I could’ve said to her that would’ve satisfied her…

for the love of god
