Triple cooked red potatoes, mix of my homemade poutine sauce and turkey gravy from Thanksgiving, left over smoked turkey (spiced apple cider brined, boned, rolled with sausage stuffing, smoked over applewood), and of course peas and fresh squeeky curds! Is it still galvaude if using smoked turkey?
Either way this was amazing!

My own backyard Turkey and garden peas too.
Not the best picture, but this was definitely 1 to add to the list. Second photo was 5 min later after I double forked it

This is a random question, not entirely poutine-related (especially as they âcheatedâ and used shredded cheese⊠I knowâŠ), but does anyone remember a place in Toronto called Friendly House? Used to be a 24hr old school diner pre-Covid then was until midnight, but sadly closed down 2-3 years ago. Anyways, I often think back on it because of how utterly incredible their gravy was, completely unlike any other gravy Iâd ever had. I believe the old timer who ran it for years once told me it was because he used real beef drippings from their other foods, but it was more than just that for me⊠there was this incredible unique note I couldnât ever fully place, like a distant hint of cinnamon or nutmeg or even cardamom maybe?! Not to mention the consistency was absolutely perfect, neither too thick nor too thin, more towards thicker side, and a nice shade of lighter brown. Their fries were incredible old school style too, as was anything I ever had there. God so I miss that place, just wondering whether anyone else shares my nostalgia. I can taste the gravy just writing about it, it was so incredible and distinct!
Fresh fries (double fried), fresh curd (boivin), and homemade sauce from scratch. Was delicious!

Went out to Alfa after hearing so many great things for so long. I was just so confused as to why. The only positive was the amount of high quality cheese curds. Super fresh and super squeaky. But the gravy was way too salty and had kind of a vinegary taste to it that wasn't pleasant. They also put way too much gravy, so the fries (which looked good when they came out of the frier) were a mush and it turned into a fries soup. I only ate a quarter of it before giving up on it because it tasted that bad.
In this area, I'd recommend skipping Alfa and going to Votre Maison instead. That is possibly one of the best poutines I've ever had.

My family and I are poutine connoisseurs (especially our 9yo son). We're from NB and we love trying new places.. where is the best poutine in Montreal? We are going on a trip there soon and want to try out a couple places.
